Previously, on The Fix (Part 2)...

A triad of three Le'kt stepped forward as one, all of them apparently underwhelmed by the filth that surrounded them, as they followed the hairy, stinking flesh pile towards the hull.

Another group of three Le'kt walked through the Port Airlock. They had indicated that they were to repair the Impulse engines, and were lead away by Willis and Talbot. Lt. Rhodes motioned for Stark to follow him as they would be monitoring that repair group.

A third team of three Le'kt stepped aboard the Galileo, "We are here to complete repairs on the port warp nacelle. Please lead the way." Fahad and Rothgra lead this team, which was followed by Lt. Rice and Sgt. Wyatt.

And Now, the Conclusion...

[ON]

Much had been accomplished during the two days Galileo had been docked at the Le'kt orbital complex. Though strange and very unorthodox in their method, the alien engineers were nevertheless very technologically advanced and had had little trouble adapting to and fixing what they perceived as 'primitive' technology. The hull breach on the port side of the primary hull had been quickly repaired, and even the new replicated hull alloys and deck plating had a fresh glint to it which was usually only reserved for newly-constructed ships in Federation space docks. The main impulse engine reactors and manifolds had been completely replaced with brand new components, replicated to exact Starfleet specifications. Finally, the most critical damage -- that to the port nacelle and warp coils -- had required a completely new set of parts, but had nonetheless been accomplished in staggering time with great efficiency.

As status reports flowed in throughout the ship, Lirha couldn't help but look at her PADD in awe, realizing that it had only taken the Le'kt engineers two days to accomplish what would have taken Starfleet dockworkers almost a month to fix. And, not only had the new alien race been extremely competent, they had also been much less of a disturbance than the captain could have ever hoped for. There had been no complaints from Galileo's crew members about their work or conduct, and Security had reported no incidents or confrontations. In light of the situation her ship had faced several days ago when they were on the verge of destruction, Lirha could barely believe the sudden turnaround in relations. Even her own crew's morale had risen, she noticed, most likely spurred by the realization that the Nova Class would soon be ready to pack up her things and depart from the system. For most, that meant the opportunity to go home. A relative term perhaps, especially in space, but just the thought of entering warp again on their way back to SB-185 was a tantalizing notion.

The hour was getting late and when the last of the Le'kt engineers departed from the airlock, Lirha sighed with relief and leaned back in her captain's chair feeling very grateful that the good spirits had blessed her journey. She would no doubt need several hours of mud-bathing time to relieve all the built-up tension over the past days, but she looked forward to finally ending their long and stressful mission.

She rolled her read to the side and gave her XO a small smile, waving the PADD in her hands at him. "I can not believe I am saying this, but I think we are finally ready to depart. Would you like to do a final systems check before we thank our new friends and get underway?"

Taking the PADD in his hand, the XO nodded in agreement - with the number of alien engineers that had been crawling around the Galileo, John wanted to make sure that they hadn't missed anything, or left some sort of unexpected surprise.

Tapping a few commands into his console, he waited for the basic diagnostic reports to come back into his console before smiling.

"All systems are showing as normal. She's as good as new ma'am."

Victoria let out a sigh of relief. She wanted to cry she was so happy. Finally! She could feel a smile slowly spreading across her face as she turned to her console and set to work.

"Flight Control is green," Dea reported from her station. As a precaution she monitored the data coming to her console carefully.

"Navigation sensors are in the green as well, Sir." Rhodes reported from tactical.

Deck 4 - Sickbay

Allyndra was finishing the latest report to the Command staff. She sat back in the chair in her office and mused that with the return of the energy and repaired systems the more the staff had managed to get patients taken care of. Sickbay was returning rapidly to the way she liked it, 'empty'.

Though the Le'kt had respected not interfering with sickbay, they had provided more assistance on how to bring the assimilated members of the crew back to normal. It was obvious to Allyndra that this was not the first time they had done so and she made extensive notes and copies of all procedures for future encounters by the Galileo or for that matter any other ship.

The procedures had been good and she wondered if any of her own research was even needed anymore. It was one reason she had come here was to spend time doing research. Sighing slightly she knew she would have to find something else to catch her attention.

It struck her as interesting she was now planning forward. The Le'kt had been true to their word, but she could not help but wonder if they realized the consequences of having others know about their ability to control Borg. "Well," she mused out loud, "that is their problem, let them handle it." She shook her head, the hair now out to her shoulders, and then pressed the send button on the report.

Deck 1 - Bridge

Lirha looked around at her bridge officers as all systems registered green on her display. She wasn't one to linger around when not necessary, and so she began to delegate the final orders for the mission. "Ops, please contact the Le'kt...and thank them for their assistance. Tell them...we are grateful for having discovered them and we look forward to future diplomatic relations in the future." Lirha wasn't too sure if she should be telling them herself, but all she could think about at the current moment was leaving the system. Diplomacy took a backseat in her mind compared to the needs of her crew.

"Yes'm." Grateful, the engineer opened up the necessary channel. =^=This is the USS Galileo to the Le'kt. We greatly appreciate all the help you've given to our vessel, and we thank you for said assistance. We look forward to continued communications in the future.=^=

The orbital complex's docking port retracted and the structural support arms released Galileo's hull, finally setting it free with a soft jolt to the craft. Looking forward towards the main view screen, Lirha gave the final command to depart. "Helm, take us out of the dock slowly with maneuvering thrusters. Let's give our impulse engines a spin and put some distance between us and the station, then set a course for Starbase 185, warp six."

"Course set for Starbase 185, Warp six once we've cleared the station perimeter," Dea reported keeping a close eye on Galileo's Flight Control systems. "Everything is nominal."

Lt. Rhodes brought the tactical sensors online, but made sure to not activate any targeting sensors or weapons systems. All seemed clear. The Security Chief then re-adjusted the sensors, tying in the medical database, and ran a full sensor sweep of the ship's interior for Borg or Le'kt bio signs. With this scan complete, Theron turned and smiled slightly to the Captain, "Sir, no unauthorized peronnel on board."

"I should hope not," Lirha mused with a minor sigh of relief. It would be most unfortunate to pick up a hitchhiker or Borg stowaway, and as Enterprise-E's first mission had proved, even a handful of Borg drones could potentially cripple a starship if left to their devices. "Well done, Mister Rhodes," she thanked him for doing a great job of keeping their ship secure throughout the entire mission, despite the unfortunate battle within the Nebula.

Quinn was watching the MSD with complete awe, simply amazed at the efficiency that the ship was repaired with. "Mains on line and the gauges are green, Skipper. Galileo is ready to turn and burn."

"Excellent. Helm, engage," came Lirha's order as she leaned back in her seat and crossed her legs.

Dea nodded, "Aye Ma'am." She input the final commands into the helm. It was a good feeling to have Galileo moving under its own power once again. So far her tour of duty had been hard to describe for several reasons. At this point Dea was anxious to get home.

The Orion captain watched the view in front of them through the screen as the Nova Class slowly began to move away from the large orbital facility and out of the protective force field which had encased the ship for the last two days. The sparkling blue backdrop of the Setisar Nebula was a beautiful sight, but one which she was anxious to get rid of after the turmoil she had experienced over the past two weeks.

Once Galileo was clear of the dock, her large impulse engine glowed and propelled the small starship to a safe distance from the planet and any nearby ships. The warp engines came online as impulse cut out, and with a bright blue flare from the nacelles, the ship elongated and snapped into warp with a final bright light amongst the cosmos.
