[CONTINUED]

John was a sociable but when either needed or suited and right now it did not seem either. He tried to sneak past, but almost stepped on a tail, just managing to miss at the last moment.

"Sorry, about that darlin', he said and then looked a bit closer at the being. "I do apologize, ensign."

Mimi's tail twitched at the near miss from a foot and she turned around to see a human stop just beside her. "It is ok... Petty Officer." She said looking at his rank pips. "You are not the first person to do that."

"I do apologize ma'am. Me and my clumsy feet." He made a bit of bow. "If you don't mind me sayin' ma'am, I don't think I have had the pleasure to meet someone like you. John is the name."

"My name is Mimi, are you part of this group coming to Ryn?" She asked.

"Orders came in yesterday ma'am. They needed an engineer and I have been slacking off on shore leave. Well, if you do not mind, ma'am I should probably make sure everything is ready to go. A pleasure," John made a nod and his hand moved for a moment as though he was going to tip an non-existent hat.

Mimi nodded. "Carry on."

HG glanced at the chronograph. It seemed most of the group knew each other and the rest getting along fine. She had had a brief introduction to the Akkadian lady. A physiologist might be interested in them, they certainly were a bit different.

She picked up a glass from one of the tables and clinked it. "Excuse me everyone, time to be off. I want to thank all of you for being volunteers here and hope we learn a lot. At this point until we get onto Ryn, Commander Ban is now in charge. Sir," she nodded toward him. "Any words before we depart?"

Aren looked out to those assembled before him. He had never been very good at speeches, but he knew that he had to say something. Aren stood and spoke to those assembled. "It is not often that we get to choose the missions we go one. Often we are told where and when to be, but this time we got to make the choice. We get to explore a portion of space that many Starfleet vessels have never been and this is an exciting opportunity that we get to explore. The greatest danger facing us on this mission is ourselves and fear of the unknown. But I want you to keep this mind, there’s no such thing as the unknown, but rather there are only things that are temporarily hidden and not understood. So, lets find the unknown and fear not." Aren said before he nodded to HG.

"Right, well everyone, it is going to be tight trip, and I apologize for that, two days travel cramped as kippers in a tin, but should be better once we arrive. As I understand once Runner is off loaded it is going on to Akkadia proper. I think a few have been selected to be on board, but if there is any other room, please check with Commander Warraquim once we get to Ryn. Any questions?"

Varro and Galan stayed silent, each lost in his own thoughts.

Galan looked out into the stars. He had a few thing on his mind that were personal. He didn't want to bother Allyndra with it. This was her chance to go home. He wanted her to have a good trip and he would be there to support her in any other way.

Varro looked over at his friend. Over the last bit they had become quite good friends. "Are you alright?"

Galan smiled, "Just thinking about things."

Varro looked his friend over. "If you ever want to talk the offer is always open."

Galan smiled. "Thank you." He turned back and listened to the closing of the speech.

Gideon had listened intently to the speech that Commander Tam had given. It was an articulate and inspiring speech, however, it was a speech that every Starfleet officer had heard in some iteneration at some point their career. He didn't have any questions. He wasn't looking forward to being cramped for the next two days, but it was certainly itching to get the show on the road.

HG waited and then nodded, "Right then, shall we crack on? Commander Ban the show is all yours." This was it, the departure and she looked forward to it.

The group that was assembled was sure an interesting group. Aren nodded to HG. "Alright everyone, check your PADD's for Runabout assignments. We will run one last systems check and depart shortly." Aren said as he looked out over those assembled. "Let's be about it." He finished.

HG nodded and read out the crew assignments between the two shuttles and then headed for Shadow. That Danube was going to the lead. There was nothing more to do but get aboard and get going.
