Mission: Episode 13 - Rogue
Location: Kreanus Colony – Deck 4, Secondary Galley
Timeline: MD 04 - 0800 hrs

[ON]

The Federation commanders had requested that the secondary galley be used for an all hands meeting, and while the primary galley would have been better, the secondary galley was all they had. The galley was packed with chairs, with the tables moved to side with some food. It would be cramped but there should be enough room for everyone. There was a lot that needed to be discussed, and a lot of information that needed to be passed.

Aren and Allyndra had set up a small podium at the very front. They both had talked about what needed to be discussed. They wanted to inform the crew of the current status of the Crew and not leave anyone in the dark.

Aren watched as the Galileo Crew, those who were able, slowly filter into the galley. He watched the look on their, some defiant, some defeated, many looking like they were feeling lost. He only just finished looking over the crew rosters that Allyndra had provided him. He recognized some of the faces and names, but he was still learning them all.

Two Romulans dressed in civilian attire slipped into the galley along with several other Starfleet crew members. Their casual entrance obscured them from being immediately noticed, and they made their way to different positions on either side of the room. Quietly and purposefully, they stood among the Galileans in order to blend in and observe the meeting.

While still 'officially' assigned to the Federation outpost on Risa, Rico had remained in uniform and so been included in with the new Federation arrivals. He had only met a few of them so far but this gathering would change that. He wanted to get back to his life and he was sure they did to. He hung out on the edge to observe as to not intrude upon the group. They had been through a lot, the last thing they needed was a stranger forcing his way into their circle.

Martin gingerly entered the galley, with a hand resting on the back of Stephanie's chair. "Slow down Steph they won't start without us. I was badly bashed last night remember."

Miraj arrived in her bright orange jump suit, sticking a sore thumb amongst the black uniforms most of the rest of the crew still had, and had brought a blanket for extra warmth. She slipped down tot he front and took a seat near where Allyndra was waiting with another man at the podium.

Marisa and Petra had heard talk of a meeting with the Galileo crew. They had yet to meet any of them, and really weren't part of the crew, but they were curious to hear what they had to say. And, if they had a way off the colony, the women hoped to go with them. They managed to slip into the room and find a place on the sidelines.

Torgeir ambled more or less gracefully into the meeting room, taking up a post toward the back where he could lean against a wall rather than painfully folding himself into one of the few available seats. Though his leg had been tended by the colony's medical staff, it was proving a healing process more than anything, and he still moved with a limp on the best of days.

Rico looked over to the man leaning against the wall, still obviously in pain. The clinics resources were limited and those were stretched thin. That fact had kept him busy to say the least. Given the situation he had chosen to keep his abilities closely guarded but in this setting he moved towards the Chief. "Leg still bothering you I see."

Peering down at the medic, Terje offered a lop-sided grin. "A bit, ja. It's better than it was, though, so I can't complain."

Shaking his head with a grin at his bravado. "No need to hide anything from me. I can't give you any meds but I can help with some of that pain." Raising his arm he offered him his hand.

He regarded the man with a somewhat bemused air, though he didn't reach out to accept the hand. "I'm not sure what you think you can do."

Remembering that he was among fellow Starfleet personnel so he didn't have to keep thing under wraps. He had kept his hand in place and gave the man his answer. "I'm half Deltan and touch empathic. I can't stop it but I can at least give you a break. If you want."

While Terje considered himself something of a stoic when it came to pain, his usual method of dealing consisted of constant motion to keep his mind off of the matter. The thought of standing still for the duration of what this meeting would last ... considering his state, he shrugged before tentatively reaching out to accept the proffered hand.

Rico's arm clenched reflexively at the wave of pain that flowed into him. His breath slow and deliberate as he pulled the pain from Terje's injury into himself.

It was a subtle change, and at first Terje did not realize the effect until he shifted his position and felt no sense of pain, or even the irritating pins and needles he'd grown somewhat used to over the last few days. If anything, the leg felt 'normal' - albeit not quite as sturdy as he was used to. He would have to be careful of that - the pain having been an indicator of how far he could press - but for the time being, he welcomed its absence. "Tusen Takk," He murmured gratefully.

“Morning everyone, please take your seats and we will get started.” Aren said, projecting his voice to those assembled. Once everyone had taken their seats he gave the podium to Commander Warraquim.

Allyndra looked over the group and noted how many faces were missing though it was surprising that as many had made, showing just how tenacious and resourceful the crew was.

"Thank you commander," Allyndra replied. "I am gratified to see so many of you and had at least a few of you under my hands and hopefully on the mend. However, first I would like everyone to come to attention and take a moment of silence for our missing comrades."

Martin stood and piped 'general call' on an ancient 20th century boatwain's call. He knew his heart rate. It was a little quicker through the pain of last nights punishment but he took that into account as he counted his heart beat. At the allotted time he blew the 'carry on.' "Those that can please join me in standing."

Petra and Marisa stood to honor the fallen from the Cartagena.

"Ship's Company Ho! General salute Pree-sent Arms." As he said it Martin saluted "They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them. Lest we forget!"

"Lest we forget," Allyndra added.

"Lest we forget." Aren said.

"Lest we forget," Petra and Marisa replied.

As Stephanie added her "lest we forget," a small voice piped up beside her and said "Me no fowget." JJ stood there for not just her daddy and her mumma's friends she never met but for all the children that had lost their mummies or daddies in the disaster.

Steph got a teary smile as she sent what their daughter had said to Martin. *James would be so proud of her. I know I am and I can feel how proud she makes you. She's a credit to you love.*

Rico nodded even though he never knew the people they were commemorating he added whispering..."Lest we forget."

Martin smiled. *It make sense that she would say it dear. As she has lost everything. I for one will make sure she loses nothing else in her life, if I can help it.*

*We both will.* looking round Steph checked the height of the room and nodding to herself pushed a button. Above everyone's heads a hologram started up. She had been working on it all night. Five old earth fighters slowly roared from the back of the room in the traditional V formation depicting a person lost in war. The second leader peeled off leaving three behind to continue on and tears rolled down Steph's face thinking of her team.

*Nice touch honey.* Martin smiled as he looked up. He thought of himself or more specifically James as one of the 20th century flyboys he thought was the nick names for them. If anyone could have been a 20th Century top gun it would have been James.

Braxton echoed the 'lest we forget' sentiment. He looked around the crew feeling a pang for what he was about to do but he knew that staying here and starting over was right. He looked at Varro and T'elis standing beside him. He'd have to talk to Allyndra a bit later.

Varro felt a bit uncomfortable being here as he wasn't part of this crew but just yet. He'd been captured shortly after he'd received his orders. When he was at the colony he was old that the Galileo was heading to help deploy a colony of their own so it would be months until he met up with them but they were supposed to be his crew. Then on his way for a vacation he'd been drawn into the nebula and brought here. It had been a difficult transition at first. He echoed the sentiment, a life lost was never easy. "Lest we forget." His mind turned to Marcus.

The chorus continued to the last of the crew, carrying each along with it and leaving a quiet stirring even as the last voice faded. Lips pressed firmly Terje inclined his head with the close and released the breath he did not realize he'd been holding.

"Shoulder Arms!" Martin made his way back to his seat and gingerly waiting for commanders Ban and Allyndra to give the order to sit. He gave JJ's ear a scratch and sent *Good girl my dear.*

JJ gave her dadda a proud smile "Me be fleet when me be big like mumma and dadda. "

"You can be anything you want to be when you want to be when you grow up. If that means fleet then I would be proud too call you ma'am as he expected he would but age difference wise he expected he wouldn't need to for long. "Then mumma and dadda could retire to a quiet life on Betazed."

Allyndra nodded, "Please take your seats." She waited a moment while everyone got settled. "As to this meeting, I will be brief. The command of the colony has thought it best that I stick mostly to handling medical duties since that department like many is stretched thin." She was not going to say it was because they did not trust her. No reason to push moral down.

"I must say I have to agree and thus I wanted to introduce Commander Aren Ban. He has been here a bit longer and knows the workings much better then I. He is also quite fluent in Klingon which again I am not. So we are going to structure the Federation command here with Commander Ban taking the lead." Allyndra stepped to the side and then looked at Ban. "Commander, the podium is yours." She knew ahead of time that he would talk a bit about himself his background, a sort of introduction and even take questions.

Letting out a pent up breath, Aren stood and walked up to the podium. He looked around the room for a moment, taking in the assembled crew. "Thank you Commander Warraquim. I always disliked formal introductions such as these so I will try keep it short. I am Commander Aren Ban, former executive officer of the USS Tian en Men. I have been at this colony for over a month. I want to reassure you that my main objective is to get us all home back to the Federation as quickly as possible. I have spoken to Commander Warraquim at length and we are currently in talks with the commanders of this facility to secure our release. While I know this is going to be difficult to hear, but we would like if you all would all like you to cooperate, within reason, with the Kreanus." He held up his hand to forestall any questions or outbursts. "The general and his people are responsible for the destruction of your ship, as well as the deaths and the conditions that resulted. Do not think for a moment that we will not let that continue unchecked. However, not all those living at the colony are bad, many have just want to survive and be left alone. Many want and need our help so that they can survive and they too dislike the general and his methods, and are vocal about it." Aren looked around the room for a moment. "We need to up hold the Federation standards and its principles. We will return back to the Federation, we just need a little bit more time. I will open the meeting to questions."
