It was much easier for Marisa to carry Mimi as the felinoid was only half-conscious. "I need a doctor," the Vulcanoid announced.

Allyndra assessed the sickbay. It was well equipped in one respect but the amount of beds was terribly small for a ship this size. It was obvious that one was expected to die in battle, however for whatever unlikely event they did they wanted to be back to fighting form as best as possible.

At least it was better lit then the rest of the ship. Allyndra had no idea why Klingons preferred their ships to be in near twilight. Maybe it, she reasoned, that more power was available to the ship's battle systems or perhaps the Klingon world was darker.

"In here!" Allyndra called as she heard a familiar voice and thought, "what now?" It did not take long to figure out that Marisa was cradling a certain Nekomi.

"Put her here?" Allyndra indicated a bed and then asked, "What happened?"

Marisa carried Mimi into the room and set her gently on the biobed. "Two Klingons attacked her," she explained. "When I came upon them, they were trying to cut off her tail."

"They WERE WHAT!" Allyndra asked with rising anger. "I do not suppose you have any clue who they were?"

"No, but I will know them if I see them again," Marisa said.

"Figures, well I am still going to file a formal complaint," Allyndra snappled back and started the scan. "Looks like they broke her jaw in the process as well. I just had that to the point of being well healed." She was angry and had to take several deep breaths. She had a patient and going after two Klingons was not the priority here. "Alright Mimi, let's get some pain meds on board and then we will get to work. Jaw is actually worse so going to work on that and then take a look at the tail. Alright here we go." The first was the pain med hypo and then she got a bone regenerator. It was surprisingly sophisticated but she figured that Klingons tended to get into enough break bone fights. She worked but asked Marisa since obviously Mimi was in no shape to talk.

"So Marisia, right?" Allyndra dragged up the name from memory. "Did you witness the incident?"

"Marisa," she corrected. "With all the people you've dealt with, I'm surprised you remember that much." She nodded to Mimi. "I didn't see the beginning of it, but I stopped them from doing more harm, mostly. One of them kicked her in the jaw and ran off."

"Ah! My apologies then." She continued to work on the Nekomi. "Kicked her and then ran off? My that does not sound very honourable." She again spared a glance at Marisa. "I am going to file a report and complaint, you will be listed as a witness to the event. Do you have any problems with that?"

"No, but then, attacking an unarmed oponent is also not honorable," she said. Then she grinned. "I called one of them a coward. No, I do not mind being listed as a witness. I got a good look at both of them." She cocked her head to one side. "Why offer your apologies?"

"From the way you said you name, I do not think I got it quite right. I am pretty good at getting the nuances since our names have quite a bit though I do not expect others to be able to get them properly."

"Mah-riss-uh," she said, emphasizing each syllable. "And how do you pronounce your name?"

Allyndra tried using the way she had pronounced the name. She smiled at the other and replied, "Ahhh Laaaay Innn Draaaah" with the rise in musical tone on the first and second of about a perfect fifth, then a thrid, with a bit of trill on the l sound. The tone was held over the inn then down on the last syllable by a diminished fifth with a roll of the r. "However, that is the formal way, just Allyndra is fine.

Marisa tried to say the formal pronunciation. It was cloase, but she could not match the tones precisely. "That's beautiful. However, I'll stick with Allyndra."

"Alright Mimi, think we have your jaw back together. Now then let us take a look at that other appendage. Want to try to speak a little?"

"Ow." Mimi simply said. "Klingons have really strong feet."

"Take it slow, now turn so I can see what damage has been done to your tail." Allyndra could only imagine what it might have felt like and the psychological pain as well. If someone cut her wings off she would be upset, but not as bad as Mimi would since hers would grow back.

Slowly rolling onto her side Mimi lifted her tail so Allyndra could get a look, thanks to Marisa's timely intervention the Klingons hadn't managed to cut too deep. "I tried not to get into a fight Allyndra."

"From what I saw, the Klingons didn't need an excuse. They were determined to take her tail, and probably more," Marisa said.

"Alright," Allyndra went to mend said appendage. She knew there was always two sides to a story and perhaps something initiated the fight or some other grudge. Mimi had not exactly played nice at times physically with the Klingons. Allyndra understood her take on why.

The tissue mender did its work. From what Allyndra could see, the cut had not gone too deep just into the upper musculature level. She could deduce that this had not been a quick swipe but a deliberate sawing effort.

"Alright there you go, want to try it out make sure it all works?"

Mimi swished her tail around. "Feels good. Thank you Allyndra."

"Your lucky, those knives are sharp and the warriors strong, a good swipe is all would have taken. I think they wanted to inflict more psychological pain then anything else." She waited a moment and then asked, "Alright now that things are more or less working what happened?"

"I was going to engineering and I walked into a Klingon, one of the ones I met at the training centre on Kreanus. He started insulting me and then a second Klingon joined in shoving me around every time I tried to get away." Mimi paused as the rapid fire talking made her jaw ache despite the pain relief.

"I see, very well, if need be I can see about a reassignment for this voyage to keep you away from such encounters. Maybe put you into training here and give you a good grounding in field medical. I seriously doubt we are going to have many Klingon visitors here. Consider it."

"I will think about it." Mimi rolled back onto her back. "J'tsec." She suddenly called out remembering what the second Klingon had called the first.

"Alright let me make a note of that," Allyndra replied still in professional voice.

"He's the one that started it." Mimi explained "They said that they had seen Nekomi before and fought them and collected tails from the ones they had killed." Without the adrenaline keeping her strong and focussed Mimi found her eyes watering a little at the thought of so many of her friends and family dead with their tails cut off. "That's when J'tsec grabbed my tail and it felt like he was trying to pull it off. I tried to get him to let go but he wouldn't so I hit him."

"Alright, alright calm on down," Allyndra made motions with her hands. "I am putting you on a medical leave for now. Considering you would climb the walls otherwise, that leave means being here. Consider it a TDY."

"Ok."

"Good then, you are on medical leave for the next two hours, then you report here."

Mimi nodded. "Understood."

"Marisa, thank you for bringing her here. Hopefully nothing more will happen with this crew."

"I'm glad I was around to help," Marisa said, smiling at both Allyndra and MImi. "But I wouldn't count on smooth sailing. There's bound to be trouble before too long." She wasn't courting fate, but with the ship they were on and the nature of their assignment, she wanted to be prepared for trouble, just in case. "If there's nothing more you need, I'll be on my way. See you both later."

"No, nothing right now. Again, my thanks," Allyndra nodded her head. "Alright young lady," she turned her attention back to the Nekomi. "You are on medical leave. You can either spend it here in sickbay just relaxing or go to your assigned quarters, your choice."

"Staying here is probably safer." Mimi said shifting on the bed a little so she could sit up. "Can I help with anything?"

"Until your medical leave is up, absolutely not. The replicator is over there so partake like we did on Kreanus. That Ensign is an order."

Mimi slipped off the bio bed and headed over to the replicator tenatively at first but then firmly as she got her balance properly, ordering herself a tea she turned to Allyndra "You know, with all the time we spent together on Kreanus I never had the chance to teach you any more of my language."

"I would love to learn more," Allyndra responded. "I intend to also have you learn a bit more about advanced field medical, so we can teach each other."

"Can you remember where we were?" Mimi said. "I think I have had one too many knocks to the head."

"Not really, you gave me a couple of phrases but perhaps let us start with basics, like numbers or something."

"We should do body parts next, it seems..... right with the amount of time I've spent in your care."

Allyndra laughed. "Only because of your propensity to mix it up with Klingons in unfavourable ratios."

"I will try to make it more favourable next time." Mimi walked back over to the bed as she talked. "Now where shall we start."
