Mission: Episode 13 - Rogue
Location: Kreanus Colony - Deck 11, Primary Galley
Timeline: MD 04 - 1930 hrs

Previously, on If it's Pink, Eat it (Part 1)...

"We want all of your business ideas for three months," he agreed. "And a list of all your contacts in Starfleet," he suddenly added. "For an extra two slips."

"No. Not my contacts," Marisa said. "You go too far. And so, gentlemen, good day." Marisa stood, picked up her tray, and headed to the recycler. Money would be helpful around here, but the cost was too high.

Loud and boisterous grumbling quickly led to a shouting match between the Ferengi entourage once the Starfleet woman had departed the table. Accusations flew between the four of them, and pushing and shoving soon ensued. The arguments between the group would continue deep into the evening, but thankfully, the junior counselor wouldn't be around to hear the rest of it in the galley.

And Now, the Continuation...

[ON]

Allyndra really did not need to be here. There was little that she could use for nourishment. At least the medical bay had something. She was mostly here to just see what was going on and assess. She nodded noting that several of the crew were talking to the colonists and wending their way in.

She watched the somewhat controlled chaos and listened. Finally making up her mind she moved toward the Klingons that seemed to be arguing over the rotteness of the food but more importantly they were talking about blood wine.

"Blood wine here?" She said as she approached. "By the Twins above I would love to have some."

They looked at her and spoke briefly in Klingon and then one piped up. "Even this targ piss of wine you could not handle, go away little girl."

"Oh I beg to differ. Shall we see?" Allyndra smiled sweetly.

One shoved a tankard over and she took it and swilled it down without stopping. They were right, it was really poor stuff but the thinness had been covered over with a lot of sweetener and she loved that as well.

The Klingons watched her for a moment seeing if she would fall over or wretch but when it was obvious that neither would happen they seemed to be just a tiny bit impressed, at least enough to give a nod of the head to an empty spot at the table.

While on ship Aren normally would have had dinner in his quarters, but here he knew it was important to be seen. He was representing the crew in many of the talks with the Commanders and the Klingons, and he was doing his best to make sure all the Federation crew members made it back to Federation space alive, sometimes he wondered how he was going to do that, it was a great weight on his shoulders. "Such is the way of command." He said to himself as he entered the Galley. He looked around and noticed Allyndra drinking the Bloodwine, and his way over to her. "Evening commander," He said to her, before turning to the Klingons, "nugneH." Aren said, using a traditional Klingon greeting.

"Ha! He returns!," said one of the large warriors who gave the joined Trill a hard slap on his back. "Where have you been these past days, Boy of the Ban?" It'd been a Kreanan from Earth who'd first given the commander the nickname, mostly because the Starfleet officer's youthful looks combined with his symbiont's name was a direct reference to popular culture on the Human home world. Somehow, however, the term 'boy band' had been rephrased by the Klingons into something more...appropriate. At least, in their opinion.

"We have not seen you in the training hall since JogjeH defeated you," the Klingon continued. "You fought bravely...do not be ashamed to return."

Aren did his best not to wince from the slap. And for a moment he was a little embarrassed, he looked over to Allyndra and shrugged.. Having been stuck on Kreanus for so long, he had needed something to keep him occupied and while he had a mistrust of most the general's Klingons, there were some at the colony that weren't so bad and some that were down right amiable. "Oh, you can expect me again soon. While JogjeH may have beaten me, he was the one limping out of that match, not I. And next time JogjeH will not get the better of me." He said with confidence. "As to your first question, a Federation commander does have responsibilities."

With a grunt of approval, the taller Klingon appraised Ban and nodded. "Yes, a true warrior must balance the needs of his people with his own training. Ha!" he slapped the Trill's back again heartily. "I can see you are more disciplined than JogjeH. Discipline creates great warriors. I will tell him to expect you tomorrow, yes?"

"If not tomorrow than the day after." Aren said nodding slightly, eager to get back to learning more of Mok'bara. However Aren didn't want to neglect the crew of the Galileo in any way.

"I did not know you liked to train the martial arts especially the Klingon ones. Me, I just prefer to drink most of my challengers under the table."

Aren shrugged a little more embarrassed in front of his fellow commander. "There is something truly fascinating about sparring. Especially learning other cultures fighting styles. You can truly tell a culture on how they fight." He said as nodded respectfully to the Klingon. "And," he started as be patted his stomach for a second, "I enjoy new experiences, and there is something invigorating about Mok'bara, it is something that I can't quite put to words."

"Oh I quite understand. I would participate myself but Akkadian's are lightly built. While cuts and bones will heal..." She held up her left hand. "I lost three fingers off this one."

Aren looked closely. "Wow are those artificial? I am really impressed, no loss of dexterity?" He asked a little perplexed, he hadn't realized that that level of artificial limbs had progressed so far.

"No not artificial, we heal that completely. It does take time and is a bit inconvenient."

Aren nodded in understanding. "Ah, I understand. I can only imagine at how inconvenient, though while being inconvenient, it is rather convenient that they do grow back, that is more that what many other folks bodies are able to do."

Braxton, Eviess and Eelim walked in together momentarily taken by surprise by the room full of people. They headed to get their food and then settled near a Vulcan looking woman who sat alone.

Eviess looked around. Still feeling raw she pushed her food aside. She missed Splendora.

"You must eat. She would not want you to do this." Braxton said.

Eviess just sat there looking miserable.

Eelim ate quickly and then excused himself to find Allyndra.

"Braxton I think I should just go and sleep."

Braxton shook his head. "Eviess just and then I'll walk you back to your quarters. Please try and eat you haven't eaten in a few days."

The woman listened. Braxton.... Eviess... those names they sounded familiar... if only she could place them....

A group of six Klingons entered and pushed their way to the replicators as the were escorting the useful young family, of Steph, JJ and Martin. The later less important than the former, being Stephanie was wanted for her technological solid hologram skills and JJ and Martin pawns in getting Stephanie to help them make unkillable soldiers.

Stephanie stumbled as one of the guards shoved her. Falling against Martin she tried to hide the handcuffs clinking round her wrists. One of the guards had got hands with her butt and she had whacked him over the head with a hammer. She was paying for it now.

JJ glared and stomped on his foot "Bad wrinkly! No push mumma!"

Martin knew he was probably going cop it to protect JJ for the foot stomp, but he laughed anyway. Before he scooped Jaime out the way as he raised his hand to hit her. "Try it and see where it gets you cause she's right don't get pushy. Your friends in the infirmary because of her mother would you like to see the inside of the same infirmary?"

Aren turned his attention to the commotion. He watched as a small group of what looked like Federation prisoners were being roughly handled. The first instant that he observed the Klingon hitting Lieutenant Fraiser, Aren hardened his expression. Before the Klingon could lay another hand on either the chief or the lieutenant, Aren intervened, his voice carried through the entire Galley with surprising authority and conviction. "Hu'tegh batlh qeylIS, nuq 'ej nuq Davang QIj jIHvaD Dotlhmey SoH mev SoH. roD nuvpu', chaH mIwvam'e' SoH latlh.." (By the Honor of Kahless, you will stop what you are doing and explain to me at once what you are doing. These are my people, you will not harm them any more).

Martin didn't understand what was being said but as it was aimed at Klingons from a command ranked officer in Starfleet uniform it must have been a request to explain the honour of what was done.

JJ looked at the nice man and said, "Mean wrinklies bad touch mumma. Mumma go whap and he go bang ... dis one mean to mumma go push to punish."

The guard glared at the who dared to interfere. "Who do you think you are 'human scum' I am a warrior of Kahless!"

Aren shook his head and spoke in Klingon. "ghob'e' wej QaQ SuvwI' chay' blind qel, Human. regardless of nuq luta' ghaH, ghaH loQ yIDoH neH DIvI' 'ej 'angbogh Da net beq member. ghaH release SoH 'ej restraints teq SoH. depending ghaH je chaq tIHmey ghaH whatever Qap ghaH qaStaHvIS po Qap. wej batlhlIj sully vay' vISangchu'Qo'chugh. ghu'vam wej ghob Sop Daq, 'ach wej hesitate jIH SoH embarrass in front of loDnI'." (You must not be a good warrior considering how blind you are, I am not Human. Regardless of what she has done, she is apart of the Federation and in effect a member of our crew. You will release her, and you will remove her restraints. Depending upon her condition she may return to work on whatever she was working on in the morning. Do not sully your honor any further. This is a place of eating not fighting, but I will not hesitate to embarrass you in front of your brethren.) Aren motioned for Klingon that was standing with him to follow him and they strode through the crowd to get closer to the Lieutenant and the Chief.

The Klingon following Aren shook his head at the scene. "k'mpec SIbI' ghaH yInISQo'. vaj ghu'vam settle batlh DaneH'a' qaSjaj laH yap neH arena." (Let her go K'mpec. If you want to settle this honorably you can do so in the arena. ) The Klingon turned to the growing crowd before boasting. "vaj quv Hembogh DujDaj DuqIppu'chugh Trill tlhIngan SuvwI' wej wIghaj? vabDot Blind tlhIngan SuvwI'? Ha' wanI'vammo' tlha' settle maHvaD wa'leS. ghaH 'ej loD Human release DaH. 'ej maHvaD ghu'vam may'Daq appetite yIQ." (Shall we not have honorable combat between the Trill and a Klingon Warrior? Even a Blind Klingon warrior? Come let us settle the issue tomorrow. Release her and the male human now. And let us wet our appetite in battle.)

"tlham chaHvaD tlhap wItI'nISmo' cells wa'logh Sop. 'ach chaq wej nIS handcuffs... nuq luDalaH ta' Human puny Klingon SuvwI'? " (My orders are to take them back to their cells once they have eaten. But the handcuffs are perhaps not needed ... what can a puny human do to a Klingon warrior?) He took the handcuffs off of her wrists and she stood there rubbing feeling back into her hands as he turned to the Klingon and the Trill.

"SoH je jIH wa'leS … qaStaHvIS Hembogh DujDaj quv Ha' settle." (You and me tomorrow ... in the ring in honorable combat to settle this.)

Aren nodded, doing his best to be in control of the situation. He choose to speak in Federation Standard. "0800. The two can remain with us of the remainder of the meal." He motioned for the two and there child to follow him as he moved them to a table that had a small plate of food.

Once they had moved away from there captors Aren returned his attention to the two Federation prisoners. "How are you both holding up? I am Commander Aren Ban. Why are you being held? Please be frank, I don't need all the details just a summary as to why you are being held. You don't look familiar, and as you both are not part of the crew, so you must have been here before the Galileo was. I need to know so that I can request that you be released to our custody." He said as he motioned from them to eat the food.

Stephanie watched Martin feed JJ with a small smile before focusing on Aren. "My name is Lt Stephanie Fraiser ... I was on my way with JJ and Martin to meet the USS Galileo when our ship was attacked and boarded by the Klingons. They had photos of the three of us specifically and let the ship go once they had us. I was the only survivor of a team that created solid state holograms that don't need a holodeck to interact. It was for medical use."

Aren nodded in understanding. "Interesting, I can see how that would be useful. What are the limitations?" He asked. He knew what with every great technology there had to be some sort of limitation.

"Power is one of the biggest issues ... we still haven't found a way for them to work for more than an hour at a time due to the amount of power they draw and that time decreases depending on how much interaction they have with humanoids." Stephanie relaxed enjoying talking about something she knew.

"Hmm, interesting. I can see why that would pose a problem. And I can also see why some of the Klingons want them." He said. He looked over at the Klingon guards, studying them for a moment. "I will do my best to secure your release from, it should only be for one more night. If you can't find me in the morning, go find Commander Warraquim. I am sorry that all of you had to go through this." He said looking at all three of them, his eyes settling on JJ for a moment, before returning to Fraiser and Caine. "Relax here, please and eat all you need. Its not great, but its calories." He offered lightly.

"Thank you commander. I hope you win tomorrow because if you do they may leave us alone, you lose and they will probably kick the crap out of me again. Getting used to it but after the Nausiccan in the water reclamation and the retribution for that a smile rest would be nice.

JJ looked at the nice man from the safety of her dadda's lap and gave him a sweet smile as she said "T'ank 'ou ... an fow pwotecting dadda."

Aren smiled as warmly as he could. "I do what I can little one. I will do my best to get us all away from here and hopefully, home and soon." He offered, trying his best not to promise anything but still wanting to improve the boys spirits.

"Me no wittle, me wight size!" JJ frowned at the nice man she turned a dark shade of red as she recognised that she had shouted at him.

Martin laughed then said "Sorry Commander Ban she likes you but like many younglings, she finds small annoyances that we would over look as an aggressive insult. I am sure she meant to say that much quieter than actually did."
