Mission: Episode 06 - Legend of Souls
Location: USS Galileo: Deck 7 - Callisto Bar
Timeline: MD -10 :: 1600 Hrs

[ON]

The Callisto Bar had been all decked out, specifically for the evening's events. Everything had been cleaned top and bottom, inside and outside. A germaphobic Vulcan would have found the state of cleanliness most acceptable. Logically so, of course.

The lights, having been used on a minimal basis, seemed at their brightest as they illuminated the new bar and stage. Extra stools and chairs had been set up, as the pair had expected to be at near maximum capacity on such a glorious occasion.

All it really needed was the crew to fill it.

Stace strode in with a smile on her face to a disappointingly empty room. She checked the chronometer and realised that, as with many appointments she kept, she was a few minutes early. She noted a table on the side of the room and bee-lined for it.

It was rare for her to be out of uniform, but she enjoyed the freedom of wearing civilian clothing. However, since it was such a momentous occasion, her skin-tight dress was anything but comfortable. A yellow, full bodied dress revealed one alabaster shoulder that was cut through by speckled spots that ran the side of her neck and disappeared into her plunging neckline. One pendant earring swung loosely over it as her hair was pinned up tightly and high, allowing for just one lock to fall about her eyes and frame her face.

Taking slow and purposeful steps at irregular intervals, Andreus Kohl closed the distance between the entrance and the table Stace had claimed for herself. Without the aid of the motor-assist bands, Kohl was learning to affect a cocky swagger with his hips to hide the unsteady quavering when his feet hit the floor. His feet were decked with orange shoes that had the sensibilities of old Earth brogues. Styled in attire contemporary on Argelius II these days, Kohl was clad in a azure shorts that came above the knees, and a dark turquoise cardigan with big buttons, a v-neck, and was properly fitted to his frame.

"Someone went home to change, and still managed to arrive really very quickly," Kohl said in a mock-accusatory tone. He smirked at Norvi, because he obviously could have been talking about either of them, considering they had both been wearing uniforms when he had last seen Stace on the bridge. And that had only been scant minutes ago.

"This old thing?" Norvi declared with a smile. "Oh, I just through it on! Scrub up well yourself though, Kohl." She stood as he neared her table. "Please, why don't you join me?"

Grinning broadly in Norvi's direction, Kohl said, "That's just what I was hoping you would say." He moved the rest of the way to Norvi's table, and he waited for her to sit before he took a chair for himself. His eyeline dipped, to examine the menu PADD on the table between them. He looked up, then, as a woman walked by.

The petite Bajoran took a spot on the stage, watching as people began to bustle in. A small smile crossed her lips, as she examined the crew intently. She hadn't expected so many people! From the outside, the Galileo was a smaller vessel, much smaller than the flagships she had visited in the past. She suddenly felt extremely glad she had gotten all that practice in.

Jacob was one of the first to arrive. He was dressed extremely nicely in what would be his usual "club" attire. A light blue collard silk, short sleeve shirt fit his massive frame perfectly while accentuating his large muscles nicely. Stylish light tan colored slacks adorned his bottom half; again, fitting his size perfectly. Black dress shoes made for dancing moves adorned his feet and smoke grey fedora graced his head. Even for this scientist, sometimes nerdy and geeky guy, he knew how to dress for a party. He wore a nice manly cologne and a beautiful silver necklace bearing a turquoise fleur-de-lis adorned his neck. He was ready to have some fun!

Quinn entered the new establishment and grinned broadly. He stood to the side to take in the surroundings, and to watch how the other crew would react to the ship's newest watering hole.

Allyndra had to admit that she found the idea of trying the new bar, or rather the stage to be an exciting prospect. She had never thought she had much talent but her late husband had told her that she had an above average voice. Considering he had been artist Guild that was not just praise for flattery. The times they had visited his former home Guild he had introduced her and then arranged for the music masters to listen and to teach.

Allyndra normally did not use any makeup, such things were virtually unknown at home, but tonight she would follow off-world fashion and 'doll up' as the vernacular went. She had chosen to wear the same gown she had worn to visit Lamar's family, the full length low backed Treillium spider silk dress. As she finished and stood back to look at her reflection she wondered if it was too much as the colours cascaded in rainbow effects.

Allyndra decided that perhaps the effect might take notice off her voice not knowing if it would be pleasing to off world ears and made her way to the bar trying to ignore the looks she got.

Wearing a pair of beige cargo pants, black hoody and some matching trainers Luke strolled in through the newly established bar entrance. Looking around he could see that others had already arrived before him. About to make his way further into the room and to the bar Abbey charged in behind him. Despite Luke's best arguments Abbey was still wearing her shin high boots, black skin tight jeans with the artificially created cuts at the knee's and thighs, and her colour washed tank top which was a mixture of black and dark pink. She had even taken time to replicate a set of matching bracelets for both arms and more outrageously dye her hair with blonde leaving the bottom tips of her hair brown. The only good point about her attire was the necklace he had given her.

Abbey smiled and gave her dad a quick peck on the cheek before wondering into the bar, she was already so excited. Approaching the bar she noticed Pendleton who had left their room earlier than she did. Looking to and through between him and the bar she decided to buy her drink first before engaging in any conversation with him.

Jacob gave Abbey a flirtatious yet friendly smile for effect since he knew she would either giggle or roll her eyes at him, tipped his fedora at her and began to walk around the bar doing his best to mingle.

Abbey caught Jacobs smile and scoffed, setting up her elbows on the bar she smiled with her back turned to him. She couldn't help the tingling sensation coming from her stomach to the idea of Jacob spotting her out in the crowd.

Victoria walked into the bar and smiled as she looked around. Having never been one for large crowds, she was never really into parties as a rule. Tonight, however, she was thrilled to be here. After all, the ship finally had a bar; how could she not want to celebrate with the rest of the crew? She had grown up in a bar, helping her father almost as soon as she was able to walk.

Naturally, then, as soon as she had finished up with her shift, she'd changed into black leather skinny jeans, a pair of tall black pumps, and a green top, pinned her hair up and out of her face, and had gone down to the bar as fast as her pumps would let her. Note to self: No more heels. They're impossible to walk in.

Still smiling to herself, she found a seat at one of the tables and watched people come in, everyone in their civvies and looking far more relaxed than they had been on the shift and ready to unwind.

Two tables over, Andreus Kohl raised a hand to greet Victoria. The bearded Argelian grinned at her, and his wave of greeting turned into waving her over to an empty chair where he was sitting.

Grinning back, she waved at Kohl and walked over to his table, taking the seat he was pointing to. "How's it going?"

"I'm doing very well, thanks," Kohl chirpily replied. "I could murder something tall, stiff and non-sythetholic in this brand new bar of ours." His eyebrows popped over his sapphire eyes, and then Kohl's expression shifted to a softer smile. He swept a palm to his left, indicating their Department Chief sitting beside him. "Victoria," Kohl said, "Have you managed to spend much time with, uh," --Kohl stumbled, forgetting the protocol about using given names in this exact situation-- "With Lieutenant Stace?"

Stace smiled, and again rose to greet her. Turning to Kohl first, she added, "I have a case of single malt Earth scotch in my quarters if you ever get the hankering, Lieutenant." Now glancing towards Victoria she added with a scrunch of her nose, "a relic from one of my previous hosts. I can't bear to part with it. But Norvi is fine, Andreus," she replied, glancing back at Kohl with a wink and then back to Victoria. She held out her hand and took hers. "It's always nice to meet another red-head on board. How do you do?"

Shaking the woman's hand Victoria smiled back. "I'm doing much better, now that there's some actual alcohol on board. How long have you been on Galileo? I've probably seen you around but I'm terrible with names."

Stace let a small smile flutter across her features. "I'm Norvi Stace, the Gally's chief science officer. Originally a survivor of the Venture but then was asked to head up the sciences here on this mission."

Victoria's face darkened, just a shade, for a second at the mention of the attack on the Venture, but it quickly vanished and was replaced once again with a huge smile. "Me too! I mean, I wasn't a survivor, per se, but I transferred over before the...attack."

The attack on the Venture had been devastating, but it always drew Kohl's thoughts back to the subsequent Borg attack on Galileo. And the personal impact it had had on him. Despite this, Kohl was determined to play the host. Continuing the introductions, Kohl remarked, "Victoria has been supporting the Research divisions since she came aboard, but I'm betting we can find use for a psychologist on the operational side of Sciences."

"We can always find use for any kind of scientist here on the Gally," Stace replied flashing her green eyes bewteen Kohl and Crawley. The attack on both crews was devastating and, rightly so, Stace attempted to keep with Kohl's diverted introduction. "I'm sure that Pendleton won't mind a healthy amount of poaching between the divisions." She smiled widely and raised her eyebrows to them both.

Victoria raised an eyebrow and smiled back. "I'm sure he won't mind too much. A little friendly poaching never killed anyone."

"Well, now. You say that..." Kohl said. His timbre was filled with the kind of uncertainty that lead to an impending but. Kohl's eyebrows raised and he shrugged. In a deadpan, he said, "Somehow, I don't think he would survive being submerged in a simmering cuisson. Well. On the other hand, he is pretty thick. He may not cook all the way through from a poaching."

Stace couldn't help but roll her eyes as she chuckled at Kohl's joke.

Victoria snorted trying not laugh at the mental image. "You know what? I'm not going to say anything."

"I'm sorry," Kohl interjected, and he frowned dramatically. Then he shrugged and he broke into a smile. "I must be hungry?"

"I could eat," Stace replied deadpan, flicking he gaze from Andreus to Victoria as a smile spread across her lips.

Kohl swiped through the menu PADD with his index finger, and he quickly came upon, "Oh, the root vegetable crisps look good." He remarked, "I can always do with a bit of saltiness." He kept on paging through the menu. "Or," he said excitedly, "Some creamy sweet servings of seleenes."

Wide-eyed, Stace merely smiled at Kohl. "Pizza. Double pepperoni. And a beer, you think?"

A cackling laugh came out of Kohl's throat. As he shook his head, he said, "I don't know you at all," and, experimentally, he called her, "Norvi." And then he nodded. "But yes, that sounds perfect." He grinned at Stace, and glanced over at Victoria. "Beer, do you enjoy beer?"
