Amynta walked slowly into the bar, glancing over the people there. Off duty, she wore a black skirt with a lilac silk blouse, sheer stockings and high pumps. Her hair was up again, her makeup stronger...she was here for cocktails. Because that was the mood she was in. Cocktails. And the pulse of the ship.
"Hey - hey!" Siren gave a whistle across the bar before knocking back another shot. "Get your arse over here, Myna! I'm drinking alone!"
She walked over to her, her eyes shining. "Now that is silly, Red..." she said and moved to her side, standing close to her. "You're looking good..."
Siren looked to her with surprise before grinning. She always got out of the uniform as soon as she could. For drinking, she wore her leather trousers and a black webbed vest, having no shame in her tattoos being on show. Her long, dark red hair was loose though, and it fell into her face as she leant to offer her a shot. "Says you. You got a date?"
"No. But that ghastly uniform was giving me a rash...this helps," Amynta said and arched an eyebrow.
"That kind of outfit helps everything," Siren laughed, arching an eyebrow to her as she sat back on the stool. "What's your poison?"
She watched her, studying her closely. "I was going to go for a cocktail. But I will take what you are taking."
"I've never really had cocktails," Si admitted, shaking her head with a smile as she watched her with interest. "Are they good?"
"Yes..." Amynta said, her eyes warm as she took a breath. "You into sweet, sharp or bitter?"
"Well, I was brought up on moonshine," Siren laughed, shaking her head. "So it really doesn't matter to me."
"Hm...trust me then..." she said and smiled, her eyes shining as she bit her lip. She ordered two Vesper Martinis...gin, vodka, White Lillet...in a martini glass, of course. She thought it added style.
Siren laughed warmly as she shook her head, watching with shining eyes. "Who wouldn't trust a girl like you, hm?"
Amynta arched an eyebrow, watching her for a long moment. "Plenty, sweetheart. Plenty."
"Cocktails seem posh. Does that make you a posh girl?" she asked, watching her with interest.
Amynta held her eyes before smiling gently, shaking her head. "I am a colony girl."
"What kind of colony?" Siren asked, her smile brightening at that.
"Volan III," she said and smiled weakly, shaking her head. "Nothing like your homeworld."
"I don't know it," Siren admitted, tilting her head to her. "But don't be offended. I don't know many places."
"Trust me, I am never offended. It's not even on the right side of the border anymore," Amynta said and smiled as the drinks came. "Good. Here we are."
"Wow," Siren laughed as she saw the glass, pulling it close to smell. "That's a pretty thing!"
Amynta picked hers up, watching her for a moment. "Take a sip. You don't drink this back quickly...you enjoy it..."
"Okay," she nodded, lifting the glass to her. She took a careful sip before closing her eyes with a moan. "Wow, okay, I take back everything I've said about cocktails."
Amynta smiled and sipped her own, watching her. "I think you are a sour and bitter girl...you like your alcohol strong."
She nodded quickly to her, searching her eyes with a small smile. "Who are you calling bitter," she teased.
Amynta laughed warmly, her eyes shining. "You're the opposite of bitter...so much life..." she sipped her own again, holding her eyes.
"Yeah, I got bored of bitterness," Siren shook her head with a warm smile. "I save it for when I'm really pissed off now."
"That is vengeance, Red...much more satisfying," she breathed as she held Siren's eyes. "And we know how to harness it."
"Vengeance," Siren nodded with a small smile at that. It had meant a lot where she was from. It was everything. "Served long and cold when you do it right."
Amynta smiled gently, considering it as she moved a perfect fingernail over the rim of her glass. "And remember...as a woman, you forgive but you never forget."
"You could say that," Siren laughed, watching her as she shook her head. "I have a very long memory, Amynta."
"I can imagine," she said as she searched her eyes. "You fascinate me..."
"Me?" Siren arched an eyebrow with surprise, shaking her head as she watched her. "How come? I'm not exactly complicated."
"No...you are a mystery..." Amynta said and smiled gently, sipping her drink. "And in a world of liars, you are honest. To you."
Siren watched her for a long moment before sipping from her glass. "You know, the best form of manipulation is one that doesn't hold a single lie. That's the secret of doing it well."
"A single lie can blow it all. But you have more tact than I do," Amynta admitted softly, shaking her head with a small smirk.
"I wouldn't rely on that," Siren laughed softly, shaking his head with a small smile, searching her eyes.
"You do. When someone is stupid, I tell them. Which is why I am not in charge," Amynta rolled her eyes, finishing her drink. "Now you've tried my drinks...let's have some of yours."
Siren shook her head with a soft laugh. "Nothing quite like it here. You have to brew it yourself to make it authentic. I've been drinking that instead," she nodded to a bottle of tequila.
"Hm...do you have something in your room?" she said as she chuckled softly, holding Siren's eyes.
Siren tilted her head, watching her with amusement for a long moment, eyes shining. "That obvious, hm?"
"Yes. But I like it..." she touched her hand, standing. "Come along then, Red."
"Yes, Sir," Siren hopped up from the stool, setting a good pace to the door on heels that she seemed surprisingly light footed on. She cast a look back over her shoulder at her, motioning with a finger.
