Operations Log 001

Posted on 22 Mar 2012 @ 6:45pm by Lieutenant Commander Chauncey Remington III (KIA)

286 words; about a 1 minute read

"Chief Operation Officer's log, stardate 66224.7,

"Everything aboard the Galileo is ready for launch. My department is ready for duty. Janssen and R'Neron have been taking beta and gamma shifts but a few more officers in my department would not be amiss. I currently have no assistant chief of operations; hopefully I will be able to pick up an officer from starbase 234. The ship's quartermaster, Crewman Kilbourne, has been an enormous help to me. In addition to assigning quarters and filling out the requisition paperwork, he has kept an eye on the crew's well-being, apparently coffee from the replicators didn't 'taste right.' It's fixed now. I think the coffee tastes fine but I never really worry much about what my coffee tastes like so long as it's coffee. I've made an official note of Crewman Kilbourne's exemplary work.

"The captain and senior staff toured the ship and checked all systems. Most things seemed to be in working order. Mr. Quinn and I worked out a way to make the Galileo's sensor arrays more effecting by boosting their output with spare power. In addition we made some minor repairs to the EPS network.

"I performed my standard transporter tests. Everything seems to be in order but the Heisenberg compensators may need recalibration, fluctuations in the temperature of biomimetic gel sent through the transporter and back may indicate that the matter stream fluctuates during reenergization. Mr. Quinn also discovered power complications with one of the transporters. Once eh has fixed them I will run additional tests to ensure that they are working. If there is time I will see to it that all the transporters undergo level one diagnostics at Starbase 234, under my supervision, of course.

End log."
