In his quarters, Ziyal spun around a little on the chair sat in front of his computer unit. He reached out and tapped the controls, leaning back slightly. "Computer, begin personal log. So far the Galileo has just been getting prepared for departure..." Ziyal looked down at a PADD in one of his other hands.

"I have set up my laboratory in science lab three and I am currently working on a project to increase warp efficiency! I met with Warrant Officer Peers in the mess hall and she seemed interested in assisting me with this project," he chirped out happily as he spun a little.

"So far, everyone here has been very nice. I think I might have confused the counselor, though... she was very nice, too. Chief Tarish, my superior, seemed very interested in learning about my culture. She is Betazoid... which helps communication!"

Ziyal kept rambling on a little longer mostly this and that, detailing his thoughts on the ship and the crew, continuing as, "There is sometimes a problem with people getting used to me... it seems like working on a ship primarily manned by scientists has eased this a little! Tomorrow I am being summoned to the bridge to help with departure, and I am excited to see the ship launch. I hope that in my time on the Galileo I will be able to serve admirably and do the best of my ability," he finished off a little more solemnly.

He stood up, hand wrapped around a mug of tea, and pressed another button on the computer. "Computer, end log!"
