Stardate 66391.72

So, I came aboard the Galileo earlier this afternoon with a bunch of scientists who are clearly working on some kind of weird secret project. You always think that all the conspiracy theorists are nuts, until you see the kind of secrecy that permeated the Starbase. There was, in all seriousness, about half of the station I wasn't even allowed to walk through. There were biometrics, forcefields, passcodes, and probably some kind of security I don't even want to know about.

Some of the scientists would walk out of those sections, see me walking past and duck their heads to avoid me. I'm really okay with the whole idea of secret projects, at least in general, but they really need to get a grip on how their people behave. Sure, I've got no clue what they're doing in there, but it's obvious it's something big, scary, and super secret.

Anyway, enough about that. After coming aboard the Galileo today, I took care of all of my necessary business, including my physical, psych evaluation, I met with the Captain. Oh, and I've already got someone working in here on getting a kitchenette installed. Speaking of which, Hey Rothgra, how's it coming along?

I'm just about done hooking up the thermoclave to the EPS leads. It shouldn't take me more than a half hour to finish up.

Thanks, I appreciate you doing this for me.

No problem, sir.

Anyway, that was Crewman Apprentice Rothgra. He's the one installing the equipment. I know he's out of frame, but his voice was muffled because he's waist deep under my counter top.

Uh, where was I? Oh, so growing up, I always thought Starfleet was filled with saggy old ladies who didn't understand the meaning of fun. From what I've seen today, however, I'm going to really enjoy this ship. The doctor..., I can't remember her name for the life of me. Well, she's a smoking hot Irish woman. The captain's a gorgeous Orion, and one of the engineers looks like she can't be older than twenty. And walking in the halls, I don't think I passed a woman who looked older than forty.

As soon as everything gets installed, I'm going to invite the captain, the doctor, Dr. White, that engineer I met earlier, and of course, the inestimable Crewman Rothgra to dinner.

Thank you, sir.

Well, that's about all I've got to say for now. Until later, Brubwick out.
