ON:

Scarlet sighed as she rolled her shoulder, moving into the mess with a small smile. Jeroen had Lily and had told her to go and get herself a drink and a break. It wasn't that she needed a break from Lily, it was just nice to catch her breath with a drink for a few minutes sometimes.

She got herself a 'cocktail' before looking around the tables, trying to find a spare seat in the relatively small mess. She smiled when she saw a familiar face, a woman she'd given a check up to and she'd meant to look up for a social call. "Sorry, is this seat taken?"

Amynta looked up at the other woman, giving a small smile before chuckling. "Yes...by you, Scarlet...take a seat," she said and patted it, her eyes warm. "That looks like a good drink."

Scarlet laughed softly at that, dropping down easily into the chair as she stretched with a sigh. "Hm, it's called a Scarlett O'Hara," she tilted her head and arched an eyebrow at that. "I got hooked after an old friend got me one as a joke. Southern Comfort, lime and cranberry. Sort of sweet and sharp all at the same time. Kind of like the character, I suppose."

Amynta chuckled warmly at that, nodding as she watched her. "And a bit like you too, I suspect..." she crossed her legs, watching her with interest. "Let me have a taste?"

Scarlet offered it over easily, smiling as she watched her with anticipation to see what she'd think. She could see Amynta as a cocktail sort of woman. Wine too though. Maybe even shots when she wasn't in the mood for messing around. She could see that a lot in Amynta actually.

Amynta leant close, her eyes warm as she sipped it. She sighed softly, nodding. "Mm...now that reminds me of a hot summer day..." she said and offered it back. "And iced tea."

Scarlet laughed softly at that, watching her with interest. "Missing the real thing?" she asked softly.

Amynta smiled at that before nodding, arching an eyebrow. "Don't we all," she said softly.

"I try and stock up before we head out," Scarlet admitted with a shake of her head, smiling to her. "Tea, coffee, wine, that sort of thing. Have to have some real luxuries in life, or what's the point."

Amynta nodded at that, her eyes shining. "I do like the finer things...for me, it goes on clothing and wine and spirits...and dark, strong chocolate..."

Scarlet laughed softly, shaking her head as she leant back. "If only. Any stash of chocolate I keep get's raided by Lily."

"Come and raid mine instead," Amynta suggested, playfully as she studied her. "Your daughter sounds like such a little diamond."

Scarlet looked to her with surprise before smiling warmly at that. "I think she is," she admitted softly, searching her eyes. She knew all about Amynta's son from her psych evaluation. In some ways, they had a lot in common when it came to that. An unexpected child that had changed their lives. In very different ways, but changed all the same. "You'll have to come over to dinner one day. Tell her you're a spy, she'll think you're amazing."

Amynta laughed at that, her eyes gentle as she watched her. Surprisingly gentle for how she usually was. "I think it would most certainly prove...interesting."

Scarlet smiled as she sipped her drink, just watching her for a long moment, taking her in. There was a lot going on under the surface, that was obvious. "I sometimes wonder," she said softly. "About raising her here."

"At least you are raising her," Amynta said honestly, holding her eyes. "At least you have embraced that responsibility. More than I did."

"Sorry, I didn't mean - " Scarlet frowned, shaking her head as she let out a long breath. "I don't think you dodged your responsibility. The way I thought of it, you were giving him a safer life away from your career," she tilted her head, giving a small smile. "Strange, isn't it. Point of views."

"Very...but I agree with you. I did what was best for him because I was not fit to be a mother. You however, are," Amynta said as if it was obvious, a small smile coming to her.

"We've had this conversation," Scarlet whispered, tilting her head as she smiled gently to her. "I don't think you were unfit to be a mother, just in the wrong place at the wrong time," she shook her head. "But it was me that brought it up. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have. I guess I just don't know many other mothers."

"Well, it is some strange sisterhood, having your body being taken over..." she said teasingly to Scarlet, showing she didn't mind.

Scarlet laughed softly at that, looking down for a long moment. "You have a warm, gooey centre somewhere under that hard exterior," she accused with playfully narrowed eyes.

"Don't let anyone know," Amynta said and smiled weakly, her eyes shining. "Just in case they try to take advantage."

"I can't imagine you letting anyone take advantage of you," Scarlet assured with a small smile of amusement at the idea, shaking her head.

Amynta smiled as she leant closer, her eyes shining. "Oh, you have no idea..." she said softly.

"I have a pretty good idea," Scarlet replied, but it was only teasing. She tapped the side of her head with a finger. "I'm a shrinker, after all."
