ON:

Lieutenant Cho, Lieutenant Cho, the young Orion addition to the science team repeated to herself as she crept down the hallways, report in hand. She read the various plates on the doors and had yet to come up with Cho. The fact that she had no idea what Cho looked like was also an issue. Nesh frowned down at her PADD and pulled out her personal PDA, flicking down a list she'd made of the public files on Galileo. See? She could be smart! Hmmm. Cho! she cast her eyes down on a young woman with spots on her face. Trill! Nesh had never met a Trill before, well, not in person anyway. Was Cho joined? How cool would that be? Mr. Khlloryn was stuffy and old and she thought, maybe a little senile, but he'd only been over the vidcomm. He seemed human enough, but who knew? Nesh turned another corner and let out a loud sigh of frustration as she met another row of unmarked doors. "Anybody seen Lieutenant Cho?" Nesh called loudly down the hall, stopping a few personnel in their tracks as they looked at her. She threw her hands up, rolling her eyes. "Anybody? Lieutenant Cho?" she resorted to calling for her. Well, Maenad had told her to find the lieutenant, so, she was finding her!

Kiri somehow found the courage to sedate herself that night. After locking all the doors, setting up a tricorder to scream bloody murder if it detected any life signs or motion in the living room. So at least she was well rested if a little tense. Having someone holler her name as she crossed the corridor wasn't helping. Wincing slightly she turned the corner to tentatively see what all the noise was about. At first she thought it was the captain but then not, they were different. Hands latched around a pad she looked inquisitively, "Can I help you?" Shouting in corridors was either a sign of help being needed or being quite crazy.

Nesh smiled in relief and sagged. "Oh, hi! Hi. I'm Nesh Saalm, I'm, um," she paused, remembering what Maenad said about replacing Cho. "Like an observer. For your department. And I do things Maenad and now I guess you ask! So, she told me to," she thrust out the report, "Give that to you and stuff. So... hello!" she waved her awkwardly long arm at the shorter Trill.

Green was an alien colour but other than that she was quite human in form, it all came as rather a rush. "O, kay." Kiri raised an eyebrow slightly but returned the smile and took the report. "Were you having a problem finding me Ms. Saalm?" Wasn't that the captain's name, so who was this, her daughter?

"Uh... yes," Nesh blurted honestly. "Like, where is your office, anyway?" she swiveled to look down the halls. They were still very, very elusive to her. "So, you're like, a Trill. That is ultra cool," the Orion beamed, poking the report forward once again in Cho's direction. "Do you have one of those symbiont things? Is it wriggly?" she asked, completely without tact.

Kiri didn't consider being Trill something ultra cool, then she wasn't sure if she thought anything was. Taking the PADD she returned her own small smile, "I don't and I don't know but Lieutenant Mialin does and might know." Kiri wasn't sure why the information couldn't just be messaged to her, unless it was training, "Would you like me to show you how to find people?"

"Totally," the Orion agreed, clasping her hands behind her and balancing on her heels energetically. She leaned over and brushed a strand of hair behind her ear before resuming her previous position. "So, how many different species and stuff live on the ship? That must be so awesome, there's only like, two non-Terrans at my school and, well, I'm one of them," she shrugged and smiled.

"The Federation is quite big," Kiri agreed with a nod of her head. There had been quite a few non-Terrans had her school, only about half was human. "There are over twenty different species on the ship but most are human. If you need to find someone just ask the computer," Kiri paused, "Computer locate Lieutenant Panne."

"Lieutenant Panne is in her office," Then a soft blue light started to pulse along the wall.

"The computer knows where people's commbadges are and the lights will guide you there if you don't know where it is." It was something Kiri rarely used but for someone young who got lost on the ship.

Nesh's eyes lit up as she heard the computer and watched the lights activate. That was definitely useful. She crept alongside the wall for a moment, curious as to how exactly she could use this little computer system to explore around the ship, before turning back to the assistant chief. "So, do you need anything... done?" she asked, frowning a little bit. "I'm not really sure what I'm, actually, doing. So," her smile relaxed into something a little sheepish.

"I can always find things to do," Kiri was starting to feel a little bit more like an officer again, "I need to collate some of the inventory we have taken onto the ship's database. There are also several scans to categorise of local space, if you are interested. Do you need to check with Lieutenant Panne first though? She might need you for something."

"Oh, yeah!" Nesh nodded. "She told me to give you the report," she glanced down at the PADD in Cho's hand, looking quizzical. "Um. What's collate?"

"To organise and integrate information," Kiri was starting to feel like a teacher now. "It's something that computers can find hard to do but people can do it quite easily with time."

"Oh! Yeah. Totally. Collate away," Nesh said with a wave of her hand, both eyebrows arched as she realized she had really no idea what she was doing or where she was going.

"Okay, follow me," Kiri wasn't quite sure what to call the woman, she wasn't even a cadet so would Miss do? It seemed right but odd to call someone younger than her like that. There were lots of little jobs that someone with limited training could do though.

"All right!" Nesh cheerfully skipped alongside the lieutenant, peppering her with questions and observations along the way.
