Blake was a good runner in a suit she actually beat Allyndra to the shelter of the caves. Of course making sure that Tris would be able to make it and shrugging out of the main part of the suit. She turned and hovered for a moment waving at the rest. The one cave that was easily accessible was filling up fast, but higher up was another and she could reach that one. As the last came in she flew the twenty or so feet up and just in time as the sound and shock wave shortly there after rolled across the landscape.

Luke stepped out into the light as around them the simulation began to dissolve. "Congratulations Commander, none of you died and you saved the maximum amount of casualties possible except for one perhaps." He said glumly. "Firstly let’s see how you think things went.”

And now the conclusion.

Blake remained silent for a few long moments, both to gather her thoughts and catch her breath. Her features were calm, but her chest moved with the recovery of her heart rate. Finally, with one final sharp breath, she straightened to her usual upright posture, still and composed. "Overall, I think we dealt with a bad situation swiftly and directly," she started, her head tilting slightly as she thought on individual efforts. She decided not to share the thoughts in front of the whole group; she could talk to people privately about any observations.

"I think there were points where plans and instructions got a little confused in the midst of the chaos, but we were able to keep going and get the job done," Blake added with a slight nod to herself, her hands resting on her hips as she looked around the team. She was actually more curious to hear what the others felt about their own performance.

Sylver looked at the others for a moment before he took a deeper breath, his back straight as he stood there. His mind was still reeling from all of it, but he glanced around again before he looked at Wyatt. "Sir, the Commander led the team well and we all worked well together, especially seeing our options. I feel that some bits of it could have gotten smoother though, if we had not been under the time pressure to organise so quickly and get a movement on. What was planned and what did happen differentiated a little bit from what I observed, however adapting is part of any crisis situation. I..." he hesitated, because he knew it would not be popular to say it and he felt awkward. "I would say that if it hadn't been a training exercise, I would have suggested that Miss Franklin returned to the Waverider and stayed there sealed up with the security protocols running. In a real emergency situation, I doubt any of us would have been comfortable with a minor being out here dealing with the situation and the danger."

Luke nodded thinking for an appropriate response "Of course that's a good thought, having Miss Franklin return to the rider would have lowered the risk factor of having a civilian around. That being said if she had returned it would have taken at least one other member of the team to go with her cutting your combat effectiveness significantly. Imagine if it was Lieutenant Rice who had gone with her. She would not have had the calming impact on the crowd and instead of them leaving they could have erupted into violence. Sometimes it's better to keep all your cards regardless of suits till the last draw because that person may surprise you and in turn increase your success. However what you have said is not wrong thankyou." Luke turned to Allyndra.

Allyndra thought things over. "Given that there was little information, and no end of chaos I am surprised that any of the patients survived let alone the crew. I think given a bit of hindsight now that several of the patients should have been moved to the waverider before the final crises. While only one biobed, things could have been improvised and consequently we could have perhaps saved more. While there has been no actual patient it is my opinion that while some may have succumbed due to exposure that more a lack of continuity of care had a major component to the survival rate.

"Thats actually a good thought Commander, and I apologise for the lack of information, time and resources of course that was done to put you and Command Blake under stress to essentially make the tough decisions. Sometimes you won't have the luxuries of the top of a line medical facility, enough food, water or even air and sacrifices will be made and sometimes it must be you as the commanders and leaders in Starfleet to make that kind of call. That being said however all attempts and increasing the survival rate must be made which you all did so gallantly." Luke nodded appreciatively toward the commander before turning to Tris.

It was now Tris’ turn to speak. He had listened to all the good comments before him. He must still be under the influence of the exhausting run, because his mind was just a blank, which was very unusual for him. He nervously looked at the others for a second or so for inspiration and said, “Well Sir, I think the team did a wonderful job under the circumstances.” His mind kept flickering back to the long walks and running he had done. “If in another situation where we know we can’t beam closer or fly closer, we may want to bring our own ground transportation.” The Andorian sighed and his very sore antennae just seemed to droop forward and lay on his forehead as if exhausted. “I think I’ll need to recover more to provide a better answer.” He looked down slightly, feeling dissatisfied that he couldn’t provide a more detailed answer or recommendation.

"I would agree with your assessment Lieutenant. It must be said that everyone has performed above the standard I expected to see and are a credit to this crew and to Starfleet. The scenario was hard and very rigorous in its rule set which was again designed to put you all in the cooking pot. I look forward to seeing a further and more detailed report from you." Luke smiled and turned to Aria the most surprising of the bunch during the simulation.

Aria looked at them before she smiled weakly. "I had the easy gig," she finally said. "It got a bit tense now and then, especially when the colonists started coming closer. But we got the situation under control and the mob disbanded. I...felt a bit uncomfortable with putting Charlotte in the situation though," she added the last with an apologetic smile to the girl. "You kept a cool head, but no kid should have to be part of that. It stick with you, even if it is just training."

"I agree, its never a nice thing to witness but even as a civilian being aboard a starship everyone at some point will be exposed to something they might not like. Doing these simulation allows us to experience them in a controlled environment so when the real things happen were better prepared mentally and physically to handle them. I'd also like to give you Lieutenant a deserved and surprising pat on the back. You are let's say the firecracker of my Security team and I did not expect to see you handle the colonists so calmly I was... Impressed and very proud." Luke nodded repectfully towards her before looking toward Alexion.

Alexion let out a long breath, suspiciously close to a sigh as he folded his arms across his chest. The ofttimes surly doctor wasn't keen on 'sharing with the group', but the way he was being looked at made it clear it was expected. Having taught at the academy for...too long, he took a moment to at least temper his word choice and tone so it wasn't like he was lecturing students. "We succeeded in treating some people with very little. Security of the area was maintained. The team remained healthy. And alive. I think it is clear that more expertise in emergency medical response off ship is needed. I also found the lack of medical triage unhelpful." He kept his comments short and to the point, finishing with a slight lift of a shoulder to indicate that he was done.

"Short and sharp I like it. As I mentioned it's not always going to be the case you have everything you need and you will be forced to adapt and overcome the situation which all things considered you all did well." With only two people left Luke turned to Kala next.

Kala turned a slight red before speaking, "I felt sort of useless, everyone did so well and I kind of just did as I was told. I'm not very good with people repairs, but give me a mechanical problem I'll fix it in a jiffy. I think I might need some medical training.” She looked over to the chief medical officer before back to Luke.

Luke smiled. "Yes, it was apparent that you may need some extra training in the human aspect of medical care, but these things aren't for everyone and I'm sure when and if we do something where a mechanical issue arises you will perform amazing and perhaps Commander Blake will be the one stood unsure of herself. If that could at all ever happen,” he teased finishing off with, “Regardless sometimes a good crewman does as they're told and nothing more, in a confusing and chaotic situation it helps to have that one person who is just there for when you need something done." Turning to the last person, “Now Miss Franklin we'll wrap this up with what you might have to say and we can all go for a shower."

The statement of a shower caught Charlotte off guard. It took her a moment to process the comment and the fact that it was actually her turn to offer up her assessment of the scenario.

"Well," she said. "I will admit that I was not prepared for anything that happened during that scenario." She paused, feeling insecure about her own abilities. "Though, I will say that having Aria close by helped my confidence." Another pause. "I was scared and completely forgot that we were in a simulation that couldn't hurt us." Thinking for another moment, the brunette continued. "I know I need to learn a lot more about Away Missions and I think this experience gives me a little more focus on what I would like to consider next." Charlotte remembered that Aria had complemented her and looked back at the woman. "Thanks, Aria, for the kind words. And for your help." She paused one last time and looked to Luke. "That's it, commander."

Allyndra waited until everyone was done and then said, "Thank you Commander, it was a very interesting exercise and I for one appreciate the idea and work that went into it."

"And thank you all for being willing participants, if you can think of any other questions, comments or complaints about the simulation or anything that might involve my department don't hesitate to say ask. if there's nothing else Commanders, then dismissed" Luke said respecting that yes he was running the show but it was Scarlet and Allyndra who held the highest rank.

Allyndra gave a nod and withdrew leaving the rest of the gathering.

Aria smiled before she waved at Luke. "Thanks, Sir!" she called out before she walked out, a skip in her step.

Oliver chuckled as he watched the small Security officer go, shaking his head weakly. "Where does she get the energy from," he said quietly before he gave a respectful nod to Wyatt and then Blake. Only then did he head off, knowing he had a busy day ahead.

Charlotte nodded at the commanders in a silent thanks and then put her head down as she slowly walked out of the holodeck. A lot had happened during the last few hours and even though she knew it was a simulation, the brunette knew they would stay with her for a while. It also invigorated her to be better and learn more, but the same thoughts scared her as well. She knew that if she kept learning and kept getting better, she could end up going on Away Missions that were even more dangerous than what that simulation had shown her. There was a lot to think about.

Blake looked to Wyatt with a slight chuckle, shaking her head as she reached out to pat his chest with the back of her hand. "You just wanted to make me run..." she shook her head with a small smile as she headed out. "It worked..."
