Marisa pulled out her PADD and checked to see if Commander Ban had any free time for her and Miraj to talk to him. She didn't like begging favors, but in this case, since he'd helped her, she thought he might be the best person to talk to.

She didn't see anything, so she took a chance and tapped her combadge. "Sandoval to Ban."

“This is Commander Ban, go ahead.” He said. Aren has been had been back in the Galileo for a short while and was already neck deep in work when he received Sandoval’s call.

"I'm with Miraj Derani. If you have a few minutes, could we talk to you? We need a favor similar to the one you did for me." It was presumptuous of her, but she knew if anyone could help, Aren could.

"Very well. I don't remember pulling any favors for you, but I can spare some time. Meet me in my office in 5 minutes. Aren Out." He said, before doing an about face. He had been headed to the galley to get something to eat, but that could wait. His crew came first.

Marisa considered his intervention to get her an interview a favor, but this wasn't the time or place to bring that up.

She turned to Miraj. "Okay. Ready?"

The hybrid looked quite pale and grey around the gills. she had twirled a lock ofpink hair into a tight knot made of split hairs. She didn't really want to be here. She just wanted to hide in a hole. "No. But its too late now, isn't it?"

"Afraid so," Marisa said cheerfully. "Come on. You know as well as I do that he doesn't bite." That was probably the wrong phrase to use, but it was too late now. She turned and headed out the door to meet the Commander in his office, pausing only long enough to make sure Miraj wasn't falling behind.

Just before the allotted time, Marisa walked into the office and smiled at the officer at the desk. "Marisa Sandoval and Miraj Derani to see Commander Ban."

The aide that sat at the desk smiled and gestured towards a hatch to her left, while also pressing a small button with her other hand. "The commander is in his office, and is expecting you. You may enter when ready." She said small smile. Aren had only just arrived and barely had time to clear his desk and sit down when his terminal flashed with an indicator from the aide. I guess, they are here. I wonder what this will be about. He thought to himself.

Marisa was the first to walk through the door. She stopped by the desk and smiled. "Thank you for seeing us." She nodded to Miraj. "Ensign Derani is in the same position I was in when I last spoke with you," she said. "Her application to the Galileo was rejected and we'd like help getting her an interview with the captain." She wasn't sure how much detail to go into, so started with the basics.

"Not an interview," Miraj insisted. "I just need a few moments. To make good accounts."

Aren sat and listened the two women. They needed another helmsman and he wasn't aware of any others that were pending or had shown interest in the position. "Good Morning you two. It is good to see you both again, please sit." He said as he gestured at the two open chairs before him. "I would be happy to facilitate any meeting between you and the captain. What do you need from me?" He asked.

"Thank you." Marisa sat down and glanced at Miraj. "Miraj applied for the position of helmsman on the Galileo-A. Like me, she was rejected, and like me, she did not feel that demanding an interview was the proper way to respond. I was hoping you could help her get an interview with the captain as you helped me get one." She glanced at Miraj again. "Or an appointment so she could give her qualifications and why she is the right person for the job."

Aren listened to Marissa talk as he studied Miraj. “I can appreciate that. I would, of course, include any letter of recommendation.” He said reaching for a PADD. “If you can give me a moment, I need to check Captain Saalms schedule.” He said as he punched in a few commands and read through the text. He wanted to get this resolved as soon as possible, as finally filling one of the last helmsman position would be a load off his shoulders. “The earliest it looks like is this afternoon, otherwise it might be a couple of days, does that work for you?”

"That would be perfect," Marisa said, not bothering to look at Miraj. She was nervous enough about this and the sooner they got it over, the better. "Thank you."

Aren typed in few commands before looking up to Marissa and Miraj. “I have scheduled a meeting between the captain and you both.” He said as he set down the PADD. “It is at 1400, don’t be late. Is there anything else I can help you with?” He asked.

For a moment the young pilot looked as if she was about to say protest something, then clenched her jaw shut, and shook her head.

Marisa waited for a moment for Miraj to say something. Then she smiled. "Thank you. There's nothing else we need right now. Although I would appreciate it if you could take a look at the fish tanks that are being installed and let me know what you think of them. The water will be added once they're done and the fish just before we depart." Since it was really his suggestion that started her on this path, she wanted to know what he thought--and if he had any suggestions.

Aren smiled. “I look forward to going over it with you.” He said before turning his attention to Miraj. “ I hope that you get the outcome that you desire. Good luck, you both are dismissed.”

Marisa nodded and led Miraj out of Ban's office.
