Location: Earth
Timeline: MD 91 -- Crew Recall

Previously on Hands of Fate...

Varro scratched his chin. "What ship were you on again?"

Eelim shrugged, "Dragon Claw."

Varro's lip twitched, "Oh I know the diplomat. He's a mean one. He's impossible to work with and quite a diva."

Eelim groaned. "Oh? Who is he."

Varro smiled a Cheshire smile. "It's me."

Eelim looked up startled for a second and then threw his head back and laughed. Varro joined in.

Shaking his head Eelim looked at his friend. "When do we leave?"

Varro stared out into the blue sky as they exited the restaurant. His heart bled for his friend. He knew that giving up Allyndra was the hardest thing Eelim had done In a long time. He'd finally found a woman he loved and now he was leaving. Part of Varro hated himself for suggesting Eelim but a part of him needed his best friend at his side. This was going to be a long journey but neither knew how long it was going to be.

And now the continuation and the final episode

ON:

It took mere hours for both to pack and an hour further to get to the shuttle that would take them to the Dragon Claw. Both men entered the shuttle somberly. Varro sad for his friend's loss of Allyndra and Eelim missing her with all his heart already.

Varro sat down in one of the three passenger seats of the shuttle and Eelim took the other. Varro’s stuff and pets were loaded on the shuttle and then finally the hum of the takeoff engines rang out and the small shuttle lifted off the ground. It would be a two day journey or so they hoped.

Within hours the little shuttle began to shake, the instruments to shut down and the alarm klaxons began to howl as if the very ship were in pain.

Varro and Eelim both lurched for the shuttle controls as the ensign that was flying it fell off to the side.

“What is that?” Eelim shouted over the alarms.

“Some sort of anomaly it’s like a black hole but…the readings are…”

It would be the last words spoken as the shuttle got pulled in and as the hole sealed up.

The shuttle and the occupants gone to who knows where perhaps a distant galaxy, or a distant time.
