Mission: Episode 15 - Emanation
Location: Starbase 301, Runabout Minx
Timeline: MD 96 - 1100hrs

[ON]

Luke waited patiently aboard the Runabout Minx, he had agreed to the trip that Abbey had asked him to take her and five other Cadets on to Starbase 301. They would be conducting Orbital Jumps and spending a week surviving on one of the class M planets in the Berengaria system.

Walking towards the loading dock where she knew Luke would be waiting she listened as the other Cadets talk. Each one offering a new meaning to the word friendship and surprisingly none of them was security personnel. Michael was a fourth year Science Officer, Human. Tiley a third-year Medical student as well as Johnathon both also Human, there was also Michelle Do’Val a half Klingon/Human Hybrid Fourth Operations Officer and finally Skopak a Vulcan Engineer.

Hearing the doors to the shuttle open Luke stepped up smiling as he greeted Abbey and the Cadets. “I hope you’ve packed everything you’ll need. We won’t be coming back for a few days. He said motioning the cadets in and closing the door behind them. “The rear compartment has been modified to act as temporary crew quarters.

“I didn’t even know you could do that” Tiley offered, dropping her bag on one of the bunks and turning back to the group.

Luke chuckled “It’s actually rather easy, the Danube class has several modules which can be easily changed if we wanted we could have a ground reconnaissance module with two ground vehicles stowed to a passenger module to carry extra people in transport. It a rather diverse little ship.” He explained as the cadets all sorted themselves to their bunks.

An audible beep broke the silence and Luke followed by the cadets took up seats in the cockpit module of the ship. =^= Starbase 301 to Runabout Minx, you are clear to depart docking port 3 =^= said the voice over the communications system. “Cadet Do’Val release locking clamps, Abbey respond to the starbase and ease her out”

“Aye, locking clamps released and we are green across the board sir.” Replied Do’Val, looking up form the console he watched as the runabout reversed away from the starbase before finally turning and at impulse clearing its perimeter. “We’re clear from the starbase, ready to set a course for the Berengaria System.”

“Set course, Warp 4. I’m going to be writing some overdue reports in the crew lounge.” Luke said standing up and excusing himself. “Unless we're about to be assimilated by the Borg try not to disturb me” He joked the Cadets eyes widening at the mention of the Borg.

Abbey shook her head as Luke disappeared behind a door. “How long till we get there?” She asked looking over to Tiley. “At warp 4 about 12 hours, would you like me to increase speed?” Tiley knew abbey well. “Increase to warp 5, if Luke comes in making the correct adjustment”

“Aye Aye,” Tiley said laughing making the adjustment.

10 Hours Later – Entering the Berengaria System

All but Abbey and Skopak had left the cockpit, either to eat or lay down abbey was in her own little bubble when the runabout lurched. “What was that?” She asked but before she got an answer the ship lurched again.

Abbey report Luke said as he and the other cadets entered the shuttle's cockpit. “We’re being pulled towards a high concentration of Neutrinos, theta-band and… This is not good, Chronotron particles It’s a wormhole through time”

The cadets all looked at one another and then to Luke. What do we do? They said without words but Luke could read it on their faces. “Raise shields, send out a distress signal and move us away from the wormhole.” He said taking a seat next to Abbey.

“Shields are having no effect but the distress signal has been sent.” She said tapping away at the console. “Were at full impulse but still being dragged towards the opening, warp drive is not responding.” Her voice was now full of panic. “Were almost at the threshold.”

Before anyone could enact any other ideas, the shuttle was plunged into darkness only illuminated by the internal structure of the wormhole as they were pulled from their normal timeline. “Shields are down, life support is running on backups and all other systems are inoperable,” Abbey said.

The journey lasted five minutes as they exited the wormhole it closed immediately after them and as if on cue the ship began to drift in space as its systems began to reactivate on emergency power. “Report” Luke demanded looking to the other cadets.

“We're right where we left but according to the star chart, we’ve been thrown back… Calculating” Tiley said. “Over two hundred years into the past, the computer is reading it to being the year 2155” The console beeped again. “Sir I’m picking up a ship 2000km of our bow, it's sending out an old Starfleet signal.” She turned this time and looked up “Its an NX class starship, USS… Excuse me NX-11 Portsmouth, it's heavily damaged, with no life signs aboard and is currently adrift.”

It was Skopak turns to speak “Commander we will need to conduct repairs on the Minx, I’m reading the ship as life-support and its docking bays are still operational may I suggest we use the time to repair our ship so we can return to our normal time. With no life signs, we won’t be contaminating the timeline”

Luke frowned looking from his console to the Ship readout. “Lay in a course Maximum speed, let's get in and out before anyone even notices were here, the last thing I need is the Time police knowing on my door.”

“Aye commander, course laid in. We’ll have to beam someone aboard to manually open the hanger doors. I think we’ll just about fit.” Tiley suggested.

As the ship came into view Luke couldn’t help but feel sorry for the ship, it had obviously been in a fight and lost but despite from star fleets records of the destruction of the ship she hadn’t exploded, and she looked recoverable. “Very well, Abbey. Beam across and open the door I’m reading minimal life support in that area so be quick.”

Abbey nodded as she stood up and standing on the transporter PADD. “Computer one to beam to the Portsmouth” An acknowledged beeping sound came up and soon after blue swirls enveloped Abbey as she dematerializing and then rematerializing again in the Portsmouth’s shuttle bay. “Wow,” She said looking around. All the shuttles were missing, probably from when they abandoned ship. =^=Commander, I am opening the bay door now, all the shuttles are missing, I suggest however using Bay 1 it seems slightly bigger=^=
