Mission: Episode 13 - Rogue
Location: Kreanus Colony - Deck 24, Combat Training Center
Timeline: MD 09 - 1530 hrs

[ON]

Kreanus Colony's combat training facility was, with no surprise, located within the Klingon housing district far removed from where the Romulan and Human inhabitants of the colony resided. To even get to the restricted area was a noble challenge and one which often invoked condescending stares and verbal spars from the large warriors. The ambient lighting was dim and lined with red luminescence, and the air was full of musk, sweat, and boisterous yelling. It was a place where only the bravest dared enter, and with no formal rules of conduct aside from the Warriors' Code, it took a certain type of person to venture to the training area to hone their skills.

For those few non-Klingons who enjoyed the challenge, the large sparring room was quite robust. Inside were several large combat arenas often populated by holographic opponents. Here, solo warriors faced down multiple enemies varying in skill level to prove their worth. Four smaller raised circular platforms lined one of the side wall, each a sparring rink in which two opponents could test each others' might in one-versus-one combat. And occupying the farthest half of the room was the live weapons range where disruptor practice took place. This area contained a small obstacle course, several makeshift items for cover, and a small two-deck facility for CQB training. It was obvious to anyone who entered that much care and attention had be put into this place, for the elegant battle trophies and battle standards which lined the walls proved it to be a true place of combat.

Since Luke had rejoined the crew after having successfully evade the enemy up until he had almost allowed a fever kill him Luke was back on his feet and was now entering the colony's CTC. Looking around he could see several mounted weapons, trophies and... He had to take a double look to see skulls. "Beautiful," he commented looking around the room to see if he could see any familiar faces or someone to punch.

One of the Klingons near the door was busy inspecting his bat'leth when Luke arrived. He looked up and quickly evaluated the Human's physique and height before scowling with insolence. "Go away, Human. You do not belong here," he barked. "This is a hall reserved for true warriors."

Aren entered the Facility. He had been here many times since he arrived at the Colony. He had meet several Klingons who were not like the Generals men, several had even stuck up for him. He enjoyed learning about Mok'bara, and in actuality had a natural affinity for it. He been in the Facility several days earlier and still sported several cuts and bruises from his fight with K'mpec. He noticed Lieutenant Commander Wyatt and a Klingon talking, though from the sounds of it, it sounded more like the Klingon didn't like Luke.

Aren had read Wyatt' file, and was more than impressed with the Galileo's Strategic Operations Officer. "ghaH neH je mamej SuvwI' law' SoH korreth." (He is just as much a warrior as you are Korreth.) Aren called out in Klingon.

The Klingon turned to the familiar arrival and narrowed his eyes judgmentally. "That remains to be seen. A real warrior rises to the challenge, Boy of the Ban." Korreth looked towards Wyatt who still remained silent. He jabbed the Human hard in his shoulder. "Do you think your silence impresses me, Starfleet?" he goaded.

Luke shrugged ignoring the Klingon and turning to Aren. "I don't need you speaking for me Commander" Turning to the Klingon "I've served with Klingon Warriors during the dominion war and their children look more veracious than you, it would gain me no honour but" He turned to the commander "What about you."

Aren turned his attention to the Klingon for a moment before turning his attention fully to Luke. The disrespect to him was probably something that had to do with what had occurred to Luke over the last few days, and, at least to Aren, was something that he could forgive. He could only imagine what was going through his mind, and couldn't say he wouldn't act in the same manner as him. However, to the Klingon, it seemed rather blatant. He nodded to Luke. "What about me Lieutenant Commander? Is there something specific that you want?" Aren asked. If the Commander wanted to spar, by all means he would spar, but the Lieutenant Commander was going to have to show his cards. Aren wasn't into pissing contests but there was something about Luke that made him feel that he needed to show him that he was capable of being in charge.

Mimi walked albeit a little nervously through the Klingon housing district towards the training center she heard about the day before, she'd abandoned her typical exercise routine because of the food problem but now she was slowly getting full of life again she wanted to gradually get back to it and the training centre seemed the best place. Stepping through the doors she looked around at the very Klingon design of the room, she could see men and women from various species sparring and training in various ways. At the other side of the room she saw what looked like a gym so headed over.

The Nekomi's arrival went unnoticed for all of ten seconds, after which the clangs of bat'leth impacts quickly ceased while the warriors in the room began to stare at her with dismay. It was not an uncommon sight to see female warriors occasionally enter the chamber, but this one looked frail, thin, and weak to the other Klingons present. One of them finally spoke up after a short moment of silence. "Who are you?" he demanded.

Mimi's body tensed when she saw all the Klingons turn to face her, her eyes darted around checking them all out and how she could escape the room if anything kicked off. Taking a deep breath she turned to the one who had spoken. "My name is Mimi, I'm here for some exercise that's all."

One of the warriors frowned then stood from his seat where he was sharpening his d'k tagh. "So you wish to spar with one of us?" he assumed, then stepped forward. "Very well. You will fight me. Choose your instrument," he added, gesturing toward the rack of various bladed weaponry.

"I'm not here to fight anyone." Mimi said. "In fact I'm under orders not to, I just want to go into that gym and exercise."

"Orders?" the Klingon repeated incredulously, then bellowed a loud laugh across the chamber which was echoed by snickering from his comrades. "Who has ordered you to not fight? What kind of cowards would issue such an order...and then obey it?!"

"My chief medical officer. She didn't want me damaging my claws killing any more of you." Mimi replied with a surprisingly aggressive tone. It was probably the wrong choice but Klingons often only respected strength.

The warrior quickly closed the distance on the Nekomi with large, powerful strides before coming to a halt mere inches from her and looking down at the furry woman. His typically-large Klingon build towered over her and was accompanied by a set of piercing, dangerous eyes. "You will watch your tongue...or I will cut it out," he hissed while raising the glinting silver blade of his knife in front of her face.

Though not as tall or and by no means as broad as the leering Klingon, the figure which stepped up behind the Nekomi was at least somewhat impressive in size. "You have such weak honor that you resort to threats for those smaller than you?" Noah had come on much the same purpose as Mimi; the events of the Galileo's destruction did no favors to his still-healing injuries from the last disaster. Granted, it had taken no small amount of prodding from Yasmin to get him here. Now, as he stood behind his fellow Ops officer, he had to wonder if he should have just stayed at home. Too late to back down now, he told himself. "Or do you truly see her as the threat she is?"

Finally Chief Petty Officer Caine had made his way into the Combat Training Centre he was still battered and bruised but the since the Klingons stopped and he was now only needing the cane to rest with since his worst beating had been repaired he hoped to start proving himself physically better than a punching bag.

"Ha!" came a sudden laugh from behind both Mimi and Noah. Another large warrior had joined the conversation and was quickly followed by two more who flanked on either side. Four Klingons now surrounded the Nekomi and Human Starfleet crew members. "This is not an 'exercise room'," explained the one to the left.

"This is a hall for warriors!" continued the other one standing across from him. "If you did not come here to practice the art of war, then leave! I am sure the Bajorans have a treadmill somewhere in their facilities," he laughed.

Exhaling on a groan, Noah began calculating what option they had to get out of here unscathed. Mimi had been a force to reckon with during their capture, but now ... now he sensed a weariness in the young lady. He laid a hand on her shoulder and squeezed. "Come on, Mimi. They're not worth the effort anyway."
