Bored rigid and banned from flying, still in mourning for Luke and what might have been, Miraj had a restlessness she couldn't shake. She ended up wandering through Sickbay again, dressed in a bright orange boiler suit someone had found for her. It didn't fit quite right, being slightly too tight on top, so she'd settled for zipping it up as far as it would go over the grey vest she'd borrowed from Snow. Every time she moved it slid down again.

She stepped into sickbay feeling fairly perky after the rough week of settling in. She'd run a census for Dr Warraquim and was hoping the commander might have some more busy work for her to do, which was when she found that Mimi was awake.

Mimi saw the unmistakable pink hair of Miraj walking down the sickbay, she cocked her head to the side a little when she saw her in a set of orange overalls and wondered what had happened to her uniform. "Hi Miraj." She called out, her voice now back to normal thanks to Allyndra's attention the day before.

"Hey, you're awake." the Boslic hybrid came over and leant against the bed. "Feeling shipshape again?"

"Nearly, better than the last few days." Mimi replied, she sat up and slipped up the bed a little so Miraj could sit down if she wanted to.

The pilot hopped up on the foot end, paused to pull the zip of her overall back up to a decent level then turned to Mimi. "Klingons suck."

"And they can punch really hard." Mimi added, even with the medical treatment her jaw and most of her face was still sore.

Miraj looked at the feint yellow green blooms of faded bruises. Her own from the interrogation had gone back down with help from the doctors dermal gnerator, but the beating mimi had taken from the Klingons had been much worse. "Anyone told you whats going on?"

Mimi shook her head as she reached for a glass of water beside the bed. "No."

"The short answer is this place is some sort of freeport, hidden from everyone. Except Kronos. They want us to got Kronos and pursuade them not to nuke it from orbit to get General Ko'raH."

"They attacked us, took us here and now they want us the help them?" Mimi asked after taking a few sips of water. "They are crazy to think we will help them."

"Aye. Nor arguments here. I don't get why the Romulan in charge doesn't just give him the black spot and kick him off." miraj kicked her feet over thin air. "Though I think General Stupid has his own plans for us. Wants us to be his trojan Horse."

Mimi again cocked her head to the side a little, she'd heard of horses but never a Trojan one "Trojan horse?"

"Its an earth Myth. There was a man who hid inside a big wooden horse that his enemies took into their city becuase they thought it was a present, and then he creeped out and killed them all." Miraj explained. "I think General Ko'raH wants to get his revenge on the powers that be at Kronos, and is going to use us to do it."

"Interesting." Mimi made a mental note to look it up whenever they got back to federation territory. "What does the rest of the crew think?"

"I don't really know. I know no-one is happy with it right now but we do the really have a choice but to go along with it. Until..."

"Until?" Mimi asked.

Miraj gave the feline girl a conspitorial wink, "Until the opportune moment."

Mimi took a guess as to what Miraj meant "To escape back to friendly space?"

"Probably. She didn't exactly say. But it will probably involve mutiny. Can it be mutiny if the whole crew is crimped?"

"Crimped?" Mimi said. Yes she'd taken several bad knocks to the head but she knew she'd never heard that before.

"Pressganged into going pirate." Miraj explained, that's effectively what will be doing. Undertaking an unsanctioned, uninvited diplomatic mission into foreign waters."

"That does not sound good Miraj." Mimi said

"No, it doesn't. Especially since the Klingon general hasn't got two brain cells to rub together. Worst of it is the waiting while they sort out a ship to get us to Kronos." Miraj looked around the infirmary. It was grey and cold and uninviting, like the rest of this place. "Want to get out of here?"

"Have you seen my boots?" Mimi asked looking around the bed. "Allyndra says minimal movement, but I've been in this bed for ages now."

The pink haired girl scanned the area. "Here." She hopped down and reached under the bed, pulling them out from where they'd been stashed. The standard uniform boots were badly scuffed, the synthetic leather dull and furred in places. Need help getting them on?"

"I can manage, thanks." Mimi grabbed her boots and finding her socks stuffed inside slowly put them on before slipping her feet inside.

Miraj gave her a moment to slip her feline, nailess feet with their long many-boned ankles into her socks, and then asked, "So what first. Food? Exploration?"

"Some real food sounds like a really good idea." Mimi turned around and slipped her feet off the bed to the floor.

"Yeah, not sure I can help with that." Miraj hesitated for a second to make sure Mimi wasn't going to collapse. "Their replicators are kind of primitive."

"Still better than being fed through a tube." Mimi said as she got her balance and flexed her body, her tail swished around glad to be free of the bed.

"Alright, the Mess it is." She headed for the doors. I dont know if they'll have anything you can actually eat. You might be facing protein gruel."

"Probably still better than being fed through a tube." Mimi said with a slight smirk even though it made her face ache.

"Alright, Alirght. I get the hint. " Miraj held her hands up in defense. "Just don't pounce on me when you find you options are gloop, gruel and porridge with added whey."

"Hopefully not.. Lead the way."

Miraj led her through the badly lit industrial corridors with all their exposed ducts and wires, that linked the hollowed out sections the rooms were made from. It didn't take long to reach the mess that had been assigned to the galileo crew. it was dingy, with low yellow lights Three replicator bays that looked like they'd been salvaged from a ship that had been decomissioned since before the time of Admiral Kirk.

"Hot chocolate," Miraj ordered, then stood aside to let Mimi order. "I've had breakfast."

"Hot chocolate sounds good." Mimi said. It would certainly help warm her up. "And some... fish?" she added her order trying to keep it simple for the primitive replicator.

"Today's fish is Trout a La Creme." said the replicator, and produced a plate featuring a rectangular slab of white meat covered in cream, with two depressed looking brussels sprouts next to it. "Enjoy your meal."

"Certainly doesn't smell much like fish." Mimi said taking the plate.

Miraj leaned over the plate. The meat looked flaky, but rubbery. "I wouldn't eat it, I admit." she gave Mimi a doubtful look. "Normally I'd say dare you, but under these conditions."

"It's meat, it should keep me going." Mimi said and started to wind her way through the still a little packed tables of late diners to a free space and sat down.

Miraj went with her and sat down. The fish smelt like fish should, but it looked too square, too artificial. "Bon appetit."

"Here goes." Mimi carved off a big peice of the fish and devoured it.

Miraj examined her closesly in case steam came out of her ears or she started retching. "how does it taste?"

"If this really is trout then you can shave off all my fur." Mimi said cracking a full smirk "It tastes nothing like it."

Miraj thought about it. "I don't know where to get a razor, but I'll hold you to that. Dig in."

Despite how bad it tasted Mimi devoured the rest of the fish only a few seconds. "Definitly could have been better."

Miraj pulled her zip up again. "Well, I guess practically inhaling it stops you having to actually taste it. Want some more?"

"Somthing different this time I think." Mimi said before taking a sip of her hot chocolate.

"Alright, stay there." Miraj jumped up and went to the replicators. A moment alter she was back. "Steak of the day!" she presented Mimi with a plate that contained a uniformly square, uniformly thick piece of pink-brown organic matter. There was a bright red gravy poured around it. "Lingta, apparently."

"Looks a lot better than that fish." Mimi picked up her cutlery again then paused as a strange feeling went across her whole body, scrunching her face she let out a groan.

Miraj didn't like the sound of that. "are you okay?"

"I.. don't know." she coughed hard several times.

"Should I get a glass of water." She pushed her chair back so she was no longer directly in front on the Nekomi. "Or a sick bag?"

"That *groan* might be a good idea." Mimi said but before Miraj could get up she started to retch and seeing what looked like a sack used for none recyclable waste ran over and promptly emptied what little food was in her stomach.

The people nearest her, sat back, making noises of disgust as Mii emptied her stomach. Further back, safely out of the splash zone several more howled, but it was more gloating amusement than any disgust.

Miraj came over to her, and held the cat-girl's hair back whilst she finished making dry retching noises. The she offered her her hot chocolate. "This should help with the taste. Are you okay why i get you some water?"

"Yes." Mimi replied, taking the hot chocolate she swilled some in her mouth before spitting it out.

Miraj dashed to the nearest cooler and got as large a glass as she could find.

Mimi took the glass and sipped at it "I guess I was not ready for solid food."

"Maybe not. But you need something inside you. Maybe you should start small. you know. Porridge and toast and stuff like that."

"I can't eat much of that." Mimi paused to wipe her mouth on her sleeve. "My body is not really.... designed for for anything other than meat."

"Futtocks." Miraj said. Then she frowned. "But I've seen you eat chocolate?"

"I can eat other things but in very small amounts, I have to eat meat most of the time."

Miraj tied the waste bag off. "Well, maybe try the steak then? I mean, it's probably all the same thing under the cosmetics. Synthetic proteins with the right flavour. They probably don't have the patterns for actual lingta."

Mimi shook her head. "I don't think I can stomach anything yet, I'll try something at lunch time."

Miraj looked doubtful. "You really should eat now if you can. You were very badly hurt."

"I think I will just end up being sick again if I do Miraj."

"Well, if you're sure?"

Mimi nodded.

"Maybe we should take you back to sick bay. Let the doctor know."

"I think that is a good idea." Mimi said, taking the water with her she started towards the exit of the mess hall. "Exploring can wait for another while."
