One foot in front of the other, keep going, keep going, it was the mantra that Allyndra had been saying for......well she was not sure exactly how many hours. Like the rest she had done a residency but that was nothing compared to this situation. So many hurt, so many that needed help or at least a reassurance and in some cases just a quick hug.

As injured had been worked on, they were moved or moved to another area and more filled the beds, at least the ones that more or less worked. Tired, tired and more tired and then she had to deal with dealing with the Romulan commander as well.

One more, one foot in front of the other. She made it to the bed and looked down and then recognized the creature there. "Mimi?" she said in a tired voice.

Mimi groggily woke up when she heard someone calling her name, the flesh around her eyes had swelled up a little more during the night restricting her vision so she opened them as far as she could and saw a blurry outline of a winged person. "Is that you Allyndra?" She asked trying to move her mouth as little as possible.

The name was hardly recognizable. "Oh Mimi, do not talk! Here let me take a look." She quickly as she could muster moved to examine the damage. "Your jaw is broken and already has begun to heal a bit. I am going to have to crack it and then I can properly handle that. I am going to give you something to help with pain but nothing here is good enough for a proper anesthesia. If you understand make a small nod of the head."

Mimi nodded her head slightly.

"Alright, let me get things ready." Allyndra got an osteo regenerator and hypos with pain killers in them including antibiotics. She then studied the picture that was painted on the screen. Mimi really needed much more then what was present but at least could get something better before the jaw healed incorrectly. There were bits of bone and there was no way without major surgical facility that Allyndra was going to get that all back in place. "Alright lady, we are going to get started. First off hypos for pain and infection control." She pressed several to Mimi's skin. "Now I am going to touch the area. It may hurt but when it does not or seems much less then indicate."

Nodding slightly Mimi tried to relax as Allyndra touched around her jaw, she hissed in discomfort with each touch until she reached a spot where is didn't hurt. Lifting her hand she tapped Allyndra on her arm.

The bone had not healed that much yet so Allyndra did not need to use an instrument and she figured in either case that might be more traumatic to watch. Placing her hands just right she made a sharp pull and sort of twist. She had to wrestle against Mimi's strength for a moment but then it was over the jaw more back in the alignment. "There, the worse is over. Now let get the regenerator going. Even so be careful for a few days." Allyndra went to work and then when she was finished asked, "Try to speak now."

"Keelah, that hurt so much." Mimi said exhaling heavily, even with the pain hypo it had been almost unbearable. Slowly she retracted her claws from where she'd dug them into the bed riding out the pain.

"Sorry," Allyndra said already working the regenerator. "So Ensign next time try not to take on an entire Klingon battle platoon by yourself."

"I will take on every Klingon on this planet if I get the chance." Mimi said sternly.

Allyndra shook her head. "And be the last of your kind to disappear? I do not think so. If I remember correctly you said something about Klingons and your home world. Is that the reason?"

"Klingons killed everyone I ever knew." Mimi replied hissing as a stab of pain came from her jaw. "The entire population of my colony."

Allyndra listened and nodded. She reached out and gave a small brush. "Understood. I cannot fault you but still we need to be a bit more tactical now. Let's get you healed up and feeling better. I might need everyone I can get just in case. Make that your goal."

As much as Mimi wantd to protest Allyndra was right, she needed to rest and let her wounds recover before did anything else. "I'll try Allyndra."

"That is all I ask. We must be subtle, assess their strengths and weaknesses and then be prepared to take advantage. We smile, we keep quite and observe. If there is anyone that I can see that can move quickly and quietly then it is you....." Allyndra smiled and again put a hand on Mimi gently, "when your are not so banged up from taking on Klingon platoons. Now let me finish up. Tell me more about your world while I work, or what you can remember. Memories keep things alive."

"The only memories I have of the homeworld are the pictures I...had..." Her voice trailed off as she realised the pictures and music she had; her only link to her original life had probably been destroyed along with the Galileo

"Well tell me about the pictures, hum a song, this will take time little sister." Allyndra hoped that Mimi would not be offended by the use of the personal honourarium.

Mimi closed her eyes as Allyndra worked and tried to remember what her mother had told her about the homeworld. "The homeworld is small and mostly water, most of the Nekomi live in 15 big cities on the biggest peice of land."

"Yes, go on," Allyndra prompted. "Single sun, many, mountains, plains?" Anything to keep her patients mind occupied while she worked on trying to heal the wounds and broken bones.

"Mountains. One big one right in the middle." Mimi continued "Roos kiezel it's called, gold mountain. You can see all 15 cities from the top of it."

"Sounds lovely. Paint me a picture. Imagine that you are like me and can soar on the wind and see the world."

Mimi had to think a little longer before she spoke again. "The closest you can see would be Meri strana. It's right next to the sea, lots of fishing ships come and go each day. Most of the Nekomi there can swim."

"But not all of you? Interesting. Akkadia is mostly water with scattered islands and the sea is never far away, we all learn, well in fact it is in born into us as we spend a year living in the sea when we are first hatched. I digress. Go on, this Meri strana it is one the big cities? What sort of fish do they catch?"

"It looks big, I think my mother said it's the biggest...." she cocked her head to the side a little thinking of the right english word. "....Port on the planet. They catch all sorts of fish like the little Pakake up to the huge Caetus."

"For food I presume or are there other uses? That is if you remember or know. I am fascinated.....in fact if I may ask Meri strana what does it mean?"

"A close match would be. Sea side." Mimi replied before coughing hard several times, with her jaw barely working properly she'd hardly been able to eat or drink anything in the last few days, all the talking had dried her throat out even more.

Allyndra nodded. She could hear the raspiness in the reply, even though Mimi had a glucose drip it was not the same as having something to drink. "Well then rest your voice. I would love to talk or listen more when you are better." She finished up and then got up and got a glass of cool water.

"Now sip slowly. You might be tempted to drink it fast but that will only induce a coughing fit."

Taking the glass Mimi poured a little into her mouth and swished it around her bone dry mouth before slowly swallowing it and managing to avoid giving herself a coughing fit, gradually she drank more and more till the glass was empty. "That is much better."

"Good, well what I can do here is pretty much done. Now you just need to let your own body finish up. I know it is going to be hard but rest and minimal movement for a few days. Then let Ensign Derani know your status. She is helping me compile who we have, and their injuries. That way I can also ask people that this place needs to go work in those areas. I know you don't like the Klingons but I need people to observe and get into the workings of this place." Allyndra made a wink, "got the idea?"

"I think so." Mimi replied "I'll help wherever I can."

"Thank you, it is much appreciated and perhaps later you can tell me more about what you can remember. We can put it all down again."

"I'd like that." Mimi said trying to smile a little.

"Good then you do that over the next day or so and rest. You are not fit enough to be doing anything more and then we can assess how everything is healing and where to place you here."

Mimi nodded. "Understood."
