Mission: Episode 13 - Rogue
Location: Kreanus Colony - Deck 5, Administrative Office
Timeline: MD03 - 1300 hrs

[ON]

The band holding her hair in place had broken, the uniform was still dirty and now had bits of extra blood that was not hers as well. Allyndra tried to get everything as neat as possible. She had requested a meeting with the Commanders of Kreanus. They had not talked since the initial meeting when they had been marched out of the ships. She had taken care of the injured the best the facilities and medications would allow but now it was time to put aside being the doctor and play the second officer. She sure wished Commander Wiggins had been here instead but he had taken a serious turn for the worse. He was in no position to handle lodging the formal protest of their treatment and once Allyndra had ascertained that some of the crew had been tortured she was going to press that as well even though she might not get much more then too bad. The Commander and sub-Commander had indicated they needed help, so perhaps there might be a bit of leverage yet.

The guards marched her down several corridors and finally to what appeared to be something of a large room with desk and chairs and monitors. One Klingon said gruffly, "Commander, General." That was all.

The door to the colony's command office swished open with a creak. No doubt the mechanical servos were rusty from continued lack of maintenance. Inside the door was a large and spacious office with barely any decorations or ornaments on the bare duranium walls. Two large desks and several drab L-shaped sofas were the only furniture items present. Computer monitors and data terminals littered the back wall and cast bright green, blue, yellow, and red hues playfully across the metallic floor. A quick glance at the displays revealed they were of various origin, ranging from Federation LCARS to Klingon TACS to Romulan IIDT.

Three prominent figures were already inside the room, one of whom was Medara who was currently busy tapping away at a console and procuring data from her personal device. Another was S'anara who was reading something off a data PaDD. The final one was Ko'raH, who was seated uncomfortably on one of the sofas with a large goblet of bloodwine in his hand. He was the first to notice the new arrivals.

"What do you want?" he growled in between long drinks of his adult beverage.

Arens Quarters

Ever since he had heard about the crew from the Galileo and there treatment since capture Aren had been furious. He had spent the better part of 3 days talking with the Commander and the Sub-Commander, lodging protests and requesting better lenient restrictions on replicator usage. Aren hadn’t been very successful thus far, and he was a little disappointed in himself that he hadn’t made contact with any of the crew. Until the Galileo, and as far as he knew, he had been only federation guest in the last month. He had seen much of what the Kreanans had done, and had listened to their pleas. At a basic level he even agreed with their intent and wanted to help them. He didn’t really know why they hadn’t sent him back to the Federation, which was a point of much frustration.

He had heard about the meeting between the acting commander of the Galileo Contingent and the Commanders of the Kreanus Colony. Aren knew that he had to attend that meeting.

He dusted off his dirty uniform. While he had been at the colony for about a month, his condition and accommodations had remained much to be desired. He stepped out of his quarters and nodded to his Klingon guard. “To the Commanders Office please.” The Klingon stared at him for a moment before marching him off down to the Commanders office.

Administrative Office

He arrived just after the general started talking. Aren took a deep breath and set himself before entering the office.

"General, Commanders." Aren said, in the most respectful way possible.

Allyndra could smell the blood wine and her mouth watered. She had had nothing but a bit of sweetened water the smell was enticing. Her thought was interrupted by the arrival of second Fleet officer who greeted the group.

She waited to see if he had anything more to say but he seemed silent for the moment and she looked at the others. "Sirs, I wish to lodge a formal protest for the treatment of members of my crew. I have already attended to some that have the reported being tortured and medical indications indicate the same." There was more but she would wait to see the response first.

Kor'aH scowled and furrowed his brow before waving his goblet in the air dismissively. Droplets of bloodwine splashed out of the cup and onto the floor. "Torture you say?" He grunted loudly. "And what type of torture do you claim? All of your Federation crew are alive. The crew we rescued from the nebula. None of you have died under our administration or suffered any ill treatment," he defended. "We have fed you, clothed you, and made medical supplies available to your injured as you asked."

S'anara rolled her eyes at the Klingon's bloviating. "Kor'aH, did you or your men interrogated any of the Federation crew?"

"The crew that you attacked without provocation, but that is no longer an argument, what is done is done. As to the reason I am protesting is that I was the chief medical officer and I can recognize injuries that were not caused by the destruction of the ship nor in the subsequent fight that ensued on board your vessel." Allyndra turned her attention back to the Romulans. "As you have indicated you need help and seeing the condition of your colony I agree. However, it is going to be difficult enough to get cooperation from the remaining crew and even less so when they find out that......well certain interrogation methods have been used as well." Allyndra then turned her attention to the other Fleet person that had arrived. "I do not believe I have had a chance to meet you sir. I am Commander Allyndra illm Warraquim, Second Officer and Chief Medical Officer of the now destroyed USS Galileo and as of right now the highest ranking still functioning officer of that ship." She held out a hand.

Aren had been waiting for the right time to speak, this was Allyndra's meeting, he was only there as an advocate. He took her extended hand. "I am Commander Aren Ban, Former Executive Officer of USS Tien an Men. I wish I could say it is a pleasure, but under the circumstances..." he said as he inclined his head towards the General and the Commanders.

He released her hand and turned towards the general and the commanders. "Sirs, I have also heard and have recorded several Klingons bragging about there treatment of the, how do Klingons say it? The Puj 'ej quvHa' DIvI' scum." Aren said, as he handed the PADD to Sub-Commander S'anara. Aren then looked at the General. " 'ach not naQ lutDaj vo' targs nuj law' 'oH."

The general smirked before downing the last of his drink then stood to procure a new one from the crate in the nearby corner. "Yes, I ordered the interrogation of some of your crew," he stated matter-of-factly without any indication of caring in the slightest. "We needed information. About your mission and your vessel's operational logistics," he started to explain, keeping the last phrase as vague as possible. "None of your crew would have been harmed if they answered our simple questions. But they refused and defied us."

Ko'raH pointed an accusatory finger at the Federation woman and continued. "I have seen the holorecordings of each interrogation. Some of your people mocked my men; others of you insulted them and attempted to deceive us. The rest of your crew attempted to stage a riot outside of the brig. Another one," he began to recall, "a feline creature, killed some of my guards immediately after being beamed from her escape pod into our vessel. And even another one challenged me in front of your people. Do not come in here and claim to be victims!"

Medara, the colony administrator, was dressed in her regal Tal Shiar uniform as usual. She had not turned from her work to address them ever since the Starfleet officers had entered, instead preferring to simply listen while she compiled the most recent long-range sensor arrays and intercepted transmissions. Now, however, she turned her head and cast a gaze upon all of them over her shoulder. "I want to see those recordings, general," she addressed him before looking at the Akkadian. "Is what he says true?"

"Yes, it is." Allyndra knew that it was the case and there was no reason to hide the fact. "Let me ask, General, Commander what would any of your own people have done? If there is anything I understand about both Klingons and Romulans is that they are a proud people and I have no doubt would have responded the same. We might be a science ship but that does not mean we are not without any honour and will defend our own." The later was a bit defiant but again that would do nothing more. "It could have been worse General," she turned her gaze toward him though it wandered toward the crate for a moment. "Perhaps you might not have analyzed the full kit but I was tempted to use Nehret syndrome. It was only by my oath, my pledge and my own honour that I did not. You, your entire crew, your entire fleet of Klingons could have succumbed to something without any honour." She made a bit of curtsy and then said, "The past is the past now and it is obvious that this place needs the help. There is little trust right now, but now let us start afresh." Allyndra would offer the Terran proverbial olive branch but she had other goals in mind. The more that the crew could work here and find out what was what and what vulnerabilities there were the more likely that they might make a successful revolt. There was not way she was going to spend the rest of her days here.

S'anara arched her brow as she listened to the Akkadian speak."I could have unleashed the nehret on you poor Klingons but not for my will" S'anara mocked and then waved her hand, shaking her head. "I can see why General Ko'raH felt the need to interrogate your crew. You want to start fresh, mutual trust? So be it. You are a poor diplomat, and under your guidance you will most likely get your crew killed."

Aren raised his eye brow at Allyndra’s statement. It wouldn’t have been his choice to even think of using Nehret Syndrome, he wasn’t on the ship or even part of the engagement and only had sensor readings to go off. While an inquest as to her reasons may be done in the future, now was not time. Aren cleared his throat. “Be that as it may, from the sensor readings, it shows that the General opened fired first, while an active comlink was still open and in use. Not to mention that there are transporter recorded that indicate beam out from the Generals ships, which would indicate that they boarded the Galileo. The sensor records show that the Recluse was for all intent and purpose, laid as a trap. It is entirely understandable that when the Klingons were asking the federation Prisoners questions that they, the prisoners, were hostile.” He said looking at S’anara first then around the room, before turning his gaze finally to Allyndra. “Suffice to say, a Federation Starship was destroyed in an act of aggression, which could have been avoided had the General, proverbially sat down and talked to the Captain of the Galileo. However, he chose not to. The resulting loss of the life is truly regrettable, and could have been avoided. So instead of furthering antagonizing one another, as Commander Warraquim suggested, let us work together and find a means of common ground. While trust between one another seems to be in short supply, there has to be something that we both need at this very moment.” He said, trying his best to be diplomatic. Deep down he felt that he was dealing with serpents ready to strike. He knew he had to tread carefully.

“Commander Warraquim, how are the rest of your crew doing? Is there anything accommodations wise or medical that would improve quality of life and survivability?” He asked, trying to get the dialog started. “General, Commanders, I know that you need some of the expertise that the Federation has to offer, could you please give Commander Warraquim a list of the most necessary maintenance, repair, and fabrication work that needs to be completed? In doing so she should be able to provide you a list of the most qualified crew in order to affect whatever work needs to be completed.”

Ko'raH's left eye twitched and he threw his goblet down hard into the metal deck plating, sending bloodwine splashing everywhere and a reverberating clink from the cup echoing across the walls. He looked at Warraquim and began to pace toward her with heavy steps and a menacing look in his dark eyes. "You would...dare to consider infecting my people with a biological agent? And flaunt this to me?!" Everything the Trill had just said didn't seem to register to the general. Instead, he was singularly focused on the winged woman's revelations.

"S'anara!" Medara quickly called out while motioning for her sub-commander to quickly intercept Ko'raH who was charging towards Allyndra with a vengeful, drunken look in his eyes. For the sake of peace and stability, it would do no good for another altercation to break out at the current moment.

S'anara acted quickly, she jumped and landed in front of General Ko'raH, pressing her hand on his chest. "Relax" she whispered staring into his eyes before turning her attention to the Trill. "Ban, escort her out of here and return, you are now responsible for representing the Galileo group."

Allyndra could figure why the General had been kicked out of the Council. He reacted mostly with his gonads rather than with his brains. She probably should have kept her mouth shut, but her intention was to put things above board and she had figured that sooner or later they would have found out.

There was a moment to protest but it would not help matters at this point.

She simply nodded, made a slight curtsy and turned to leave. She would talk more to this Ban. He was an unknown to the crew, she was not.

Aren sighed and nodded. "If you could please send us the requested repair list at your earliest convenience." There was nothing else to say at this point. He was frustrated at the General and the whole situation. He furrowed his brow for a moment in thought before turning to depart with Allyndra.

Medara watched both of them depart the room while the wheels in her head worked to analyze the situation. The Federation woman didn't seem to have played her cards right which now gave her and her people even more leverage over the situation. But the Trill's arrival and intervention had been...unexpected. It also didn't help that once again, Ko'raH had lost his temper and alienated yet another Federation crew. She looked over to both him and S'anara and regarded both of them. "Don't let me witness another outburst like that from you again. Or I will begin to add sedatives to your bloodwine reserves," she threatened. The Romulan commander then spoke to S'anara.

"Give the Galileo crew as much access to our medical facilities as they need in order to treat their crew. I want them cared for and tended to. And send them a list of non-critical maintenance work the can busy themselves with if they desire. Perhaps something in water reclamation or the ore processing facility," she instructed. "I do not trust this Federation commander -- put an observation team on her and report to me on her activities and conversations over the next few days."
