Previously, on Fried Breadcrumbs...

The general turned on his heels, his cape billowing out behind him once again as he marched back towards the brig cells. The heavy metallic thuds of his boots pierced the air before he came to a stop and peered intently at the El-Aurian. He was tall and wirey in stature, but his blue eyes betrayed something honorable which only a lifelong veteran could possess. Ko'raH then looked over towards the yellow-collared security officer who also wanted to participate in defiance.

"You...want to challenge me?" he repeated, a glowing smirk spreading across his lips and exposing his sharp teeth.

Rahl drew himself up to his full height and stared the General right in the eyes. His voice was like steel when he spoke. "There is no want. I did challenge you. However, if you are hard of hearing I'll say it to your face. I challenge you to Hay'chu'. You won't get a better chance then this to try to take revenge against an officer that stood in defiance in the face of both Chancellor Gowron and General Martok at the battle of Deep Space Nine."

Greg looked up at the Klingon who approached him. Holy shit, this guy is much taller than I thought he was. "So...is Hay'chu' a one-on-one thing? Because I don't know if we can both....wait, you were at Deep Space Nine?" Greg asked, getting sidetracked.

Allyndra was surprised that Wiggins had not yet intervened. They had plenty of wounded and injured to attend to. The last thing that they needed was more injured. None were really ready for a fight.

"Stand down!" she raised her voice. "We attend to our own and then we can challenge to honour battles. "

And Now, the Continuation...

[ON]

Ko'raH motioned for his guards to approach the forcefield while his sunken Klingon eyes judged the weak Federation challenger standing before him. The general then looked over at the winged woman -- a blue-collared officer of some type who appeared to be his superior. He scoffed at both of them.

"Your challenge is accepted," he hissed back at Rahl with a heavy dose of spittle which flew onto the El-Aurian's face. "Unless...you cower under the order of this creature...?" he pointed towards Allyndra.

Rahl looked the General in the eye without flinching. He didn't even look over at Allyndra though again his words were aimed towards her in the beginning. "I'm sorry commander. As I said you can bring me up on charges once we are out of here. I will not stand down."

His eyes looked to the guards before going back to the General. "So General what shall it be? The bat'leth? The mek'leth? The d'k tahg? Or perhaps you simply want to go hand to hand and see who's fist is harder...."

Eviess had been watching this with interest. Rahl was strong but... could he take the man? Probably not. Her Romulan strength was great. It was like a Vulcan's and her Klingon side, as much as he abhorred it would be useful. She stepped up. "Perhaps you would like to fight one of your own General." Eviess was glad she was still wearing her Klingon gown. She' been in it when red alert was called. She stepped up to he General.

Allyndra so wanted get a chance to get to spread the Nehret syndrome virus that she did not fight Rahl but when it seemed to start to spread to Eviess there had to be some order.

She turned her gaze to the General. "This is what happens when discipline breaks down, she commented. She moved to get between the two. "I am Allyndra illm Warraquim, rank Commander, Chief Medical and Second Officer. You have stated the Kitomer accords are not in application here. That would tell me that you are operating without authority of your government." She shrugged, "It wold seem that if you are not going to follow the accords then why bother with a fair honourable fight." She then displayed those sharp inner teeth. "Just to be clear, sir, that all restraints are off."

Rahl growled and pulled Allyndra back as he blocked the way to the front of the holding area. He raised his voice addressing the rest of the crew. "I am Rahl Tyton...I made the challenge. As such I will fight him. If any of you wish to try to usurp that challenge you will first have to face me. Does anyone wish to interfere with my right of challenge?" He hoped his words got through there skulls. There would be only one fight. Only one person needed to risk themselves. Not the entire crew. It was starting to get out of hand unless some order was restored. It would be well within the Klingons' abilities to simply cut life support to the entire brig and kill them all if they so wanted. However if he won the duel then the rest of the crew would be safe in those regards.

The Klingon general watched with amusement at the bickering between the Federation crew's so-called 'chain of command'. It was obvious to him that their experiment was a failure. Combining multiple races, stubbornness and prejudices all into one starship was the epitome of a dysfunctional vessel. It was becoming evident to him the Federation had grown weak over the years.

Ko'raH snapped his fingers and his guard moved forward to lower the forcefield of the chamber which contained the challenger. Their disruptors remained trained on the occupants in case one of them decided to make an unwise move towards freedom. The large Federation man named Rahl was grabbed by the collar of his uniform and pulled out of the cell, after which the forcefield re-initiated.

The general stepped within inches of the man's face and snickered, "Your crew will watch you die in a matter of moments. How does that make you feel?"

Rahl was trying to keep everyone back from the door. He knew to well what was capable of happening. He felt the yank on his collar and allowed his body to flow with it. He stood up and jerked himself out of the other klingon's grasp. He looked the General dead in the eye. Rahl didn't speak Klingon but he had been around long enough to pick up a few phrases. "Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam"(today is a good day to die). He drew himself up. "But the day is not over yet..."

His focus was narrowing down to his opponent and the pending fight. "The better question General is are your people ready to have there command structure decimated as I wring the last of your breath from your throat with my bare hands."

"Some of my crew would probably welcome by death and rise to attempt to take my place," Ko'raH smirked. "A shame the same can not be said for you," he mocked.

Eelim pulled Allyndra back more making sure she was out of harms way. She had the concussion and her wings to worry about. He pushed her back. "Stay back Princess."

The shove and then Eelim's grab made her world spin and she stumbled a bit. She sagged into his arms and closed her eyes. "Fool," she whispered. "We needed to have an edge and now we have lost that one. "

Greg instinctively inched his way forward to get into a position to defend the Commander if necessary. As he watched the guards, he saw the one who had been in charge of the detail who shot his men when they re materialized. He gave the guard a sarcastic wink, not unlike the one Doc Holliday gave Billy Clanton at the start of the shootout at the OK Coral in one of Greg's favorite Westerns, Tombstone.

You'll die soon too, asshole.. He thought to himself.

Wilson stood up slowly as back up and Rivetti walked in front of the rest of the prisoners as a kind of wall to protect them, as little as that would help.

"This isn't good." Wilson whispered, and looked at Rivetti. "We can't protect all of them."

"It's going to get bloody. Just stay focused." Rivetti responded.

Mimi looked up at Min. "Get me up, I haven't finished with these Klingons yet." If things were going to devolve into a fight she wanted to be right in there getting her revenge.

Min frowned, making sure Mimi stayed where she sat, "No Ensign. You are in no shape to do anything, especially fight. For now you stay put. Understood?"

"I'd listen to her," Noah sighed, leaning back with a sigh. Weariness and nerves were eating away at his resolve to remain strong; even worse, he had yet to see or hear any sign of Yasmin here, and had no way of determining if she was in the other cell, or even on the Klingon vessel at all.

Mimi growled her disaproval but stayed laid down, as much as she wanted to get involved both her superiors were right. Her head still spun from the stun shot and her hip felt wierd.

Somewhere near the back, with all the people crammed into their cell, it wasn't hard for Wiggins to find he had lost himself in the crowd and pushed to the rear of the cell. When the Klingon General had agreed to give them med kits, a tremendous amount of pain came to him, along with a deafening ringing in his ears. The ringing was so loud in his head that it drowned out all noise. No doubt the injury to his head was catching up to him. By the time Rahl had begun challenging the General, Wiggins had found himself crammed up at the back wall not knowing what was going on. He forced his eyes open, but the light of the cell was making it difficult. He pinched the bridge of his nose as if that would stave off the pain, but to no relief. He slid down till he was in a semi-seated position and hoped it would pass. There was commotion coming from the front of the brig and he made a desperate attempt to stand, but found he couldn't yet.

Qureshi leaped up the moment the medkits had been brought in. Where uncertainty had been all over his face an hour ago, the moment the medkit arrived he knew exactly what to do. Not only for Miraj but for all the other injured that he'd been able to triage in their cell. He'd seen Allyndra and Tuula had been brought in and placed in the cell next to them. But upon seeing the medkit his whole attitude changed. Opening it up he quickly started sorting out the things he needed.

"I need nurses," he announced to the crowded group around him. "Anyone with any sort of medical training or first aid, anything."

Crispin snow came over. "Only the first aid from basic training, but i can follow instructions. What do you need?"

"I can help." Though she had debated staying at Terje's side, Yasmin found herself moving forward. Besides, the man was stable, and other than checking and rechecking his tourniquet, there was little she could actually do for him. "I only know a little, but I can follow direction."

Qureshi blinked and looked them over. He then tossed out a few med kits from the medical supplies provided.

Splendora rushed over. "I have some medical training." She grabbed a medkit.

Qureshi pointed at Crispin before waving at the dermal regenerator that he'd tossed next to him. "Her bleeding is a priority. I'll get to her in a moment." He said, indicating Abbey laying on the floor.

Crispin nodded at the doctor. "what do you ned me to do?"

Splendora gave a nod. "I'll go tend to the lighter wounded. This way we can split our resources and get to more people."

The young intern then turned to Splendora and nodded at her as though he was still thinking through how to best triage everyone. He swallowed hard, then recalled his medical training. With a more certain nod, he looked at her more confidentally. "I need scans of all the injured," he said while still assessing Miraj's injuries.

Splendora gave a nod and worked with speed. She tended to the lighter wounds and scanned others. It wasn't easy. It was emotional. These were her crewmates and she felt the shock, pain, and fear. This was one of those times she hated being able to sense things.

The Duel to the Death

In front of both detention cells, the general unclasped his crimson cloak and spread his arms to let it fall to the ground behind him. His guards quickly retrieved the fabric and one of them handed him two bat'leths. Kor'aH threw onto the floor in front of Rahl in the same manner in which a Klingon would toss a piece of food to a targ. The large, heavy bladed weapon clinked and clattered across the grated floor. "When you reach Sto'Vo'Kor, tell my brother I have forgiven him!"

The six other Klingon guards surrounding the general slowly circled both him and the Starfleet challenger. They began to chant in their native tongue, all giving praise to their commander and mocking the blue-collared El-Aurian.

Greg turned to look at Wilson to his right. "Stay in front of the others. They have to come through us first if they want the rest of the crew."

Wilson nodded.
