Lamar stood on Deck 3 outside of the room number which the alluring counselor had given him at the bar. '03-2207' it read, and he tapped the chime hoping it was the right one. He'd enjoyed his night at the communal crew gathering down on Deck 7 and had ingested several shots and cognac beverages by now. He'd found Splendora to be a fun person in the few minutes they'd chatted. She was obviously beautiful with unique and striking features, but she also had a fun and flirtatious personality which was refreshing. Most of the Fleeters he'd met over the years were burned out by the stresses of starship duty and rather boring. They seemed to go about their duties in a mundane way while accepting that the next four years of their career would involve staring at the same dull bulkheads and consoles. She, on the other hand, seemed outgoing and optimistic, and he enjoyed the vibe he got from.

Splendora had returned to her quarters after the party and had showered. The quarters she'd shared with Tuula had a water shower, thankfully, and she loved it. Her hair was damp and she was wearing nothing but her silk emerald robe that clung to her body like a second skin. She figured she'd do some writing. Tuula was not there so she had the quarters to herself. She had replicated some tea for herself and had curled on the sofa writing. With the inspiration that she'd received from meeting Lamar she'd written the final love scene in the book she'd been working on. A scorching scene that almost burned up the paper notebook it was written on. She'd flustered herself just writing it. She was so engrossed in doing some edits she let time get away from her. The chime startled her and she jumped.

For a moment she asked herself who was at the door but then she remembered Lamar...she had honestly thought that he would not come to her. Curiosity and eagerness drove her to the door. She hit the door open button and watched the door slide open to reveal that it was, indeed, Lamar. She smiled, her face flushed. "Well hello."

"Hey," he said as the door opened and the girl from the bar appeared again in the doorway. He took note of her damp hair and bedtime attire. "Sorry, didn't mean to butt in so late. Didn't realize it's already after two," he grinned sheepishly.

She smiled. "It's okay. Honestly I didn't think you would come." She stepped aside. "Come on in."

Accepting the invitation, he slowly strolled into her chambers and took a quick pause to look around. "Nice place," he said to her. It was a standard junior officer room with a separate bedroom -- much larger and comfy than his own cramped enlisted quarters -- but as he looked around, he began to take notice of a few strange decorations littering the walls and display tables. One series of objects appeared to be a collection of saws...and judging from the look of them, he guessed they were from ancient Earth history. He stared at one a bit closer and noticed that it didn't quite look like a regular saw. "Huh. What's all this?" he asked, motioning to the objects.

She smiled. "Ahh that's Tuula's. She has an interesting collection. Many find it a bit...unsettling but it is a hobby and she's a really sweet person. She is into old earth medical instruments. I'm not even sure what half of them are. So Lamar," She said remembering he didn't like the flyboy nickname. "Can I get you something?"

A drink sounded like a good idea to him as he continued to stare at the collection of torture devices. At least, that was what many of the instruments looked like. "Something strong," he replied. "Got any cognac? Or brandy?"

She smiled. "I have some plum brandy." She headed over to the corner of the room where a silver cart with four wheels stood. She uncapped a crystal bottle and poured him a drink. She picked up the drink and took it to him. Smiling she handed him the drink. "Here you go."

"Thanks." Taking the glass from her, he was about to ask what plum brandy was but then he heard an avian screech from nearby. The sound of flapping wings then echoed throughout the living room causing Lamar to almost drop his drink. "What the hell is that?" he asked, his eyes wide and searching around for the source of the sound.

Splendora chuckle, she held out her arm and a large black raven with purple eyes landed on her right forearm. "This is Elithia. My pet." Splendora scratched Elithia under her beak.

His eyes went wide and he stiffened a bit. Birds by themselves didn't really upset him. Afterall, they were natural creatures of the Earth and for the most part kept to themselves. But he had never been this close to a bird before, especially not in confined quarters. What if it became upset? Would it attack him and try to peck his eyes out, or use its talons to rake the back of his neck?

"Uhhh..." He had no idea what to say. "Hello, bird..."

The raven stared at him, it's purple eyes seemed to have an ethereal glow.

Splendora smiled. "Elithia," she said. "This is Lamar." She placed her free hand on his shoulder "Friend."

The birds eyes studied him and then it flew away perching in the corner of the room. It turned its head into its feathers.

Splendora smiled. "She'll sleep now. She's very protective of me. Lemurian Ravens are a special breed."

"Huh. Okay, well," he began to reply, not quite sure what to say. Birds didn't creep him out but they also weren't a desirable animal to have around, in his opinion. "I guess she's nice...?" He looked around the living room one more time, taking another note of the bone saws, torture instruments, and now the creepy bird that had manifested. "Can we go to your room maybe? You know...for some privacy," he winked to hide his discomfort at hanging out in their current room.

She smiled, "Sure." She stood up and lead the way. She loved her room. She'd decorated it just the way she wanted. It had a desk, a day bed that could function as a sofa and a little coffee table. Against one wall was a shelf of books, here she kept all the books she'd published under her pen name, Dora Gale, and a few statues. The walls were decorated with bright and cheerful colours and her day bed now was converted into it's bed state with green silk sheets and a green comforter. She entered the code to her room and the doors whooshed open. She ushered Lamar inside.

He followed behind her and quickly downed the contents of his glass while admiring her curvy hips and bottom. As soon as he stepped into her room and the door closed, he put his glass down, put a hand on her shoulder, and spun her around to push her against the wall with a mischievous grin on his face. "Your bird can't watch us now," he teased, then leaned in for a hard and passionate kiss.

Splendora was momentarily taken by surprise but when his lips touched hers she returned the kiss with the same passion. Her arms wrapped around him. His passion and hunger excited her.

One of his large hands reached around to her back and pulled up the fabric of her silk robe to stroke her skin. The other hand traveled lower, down to her ample bottom, and began to squeeze and caress the soft cheeks. He slipped his tongue deep into her mouth and pressed himself close to her to pin her in place against the wall.

Splendora moaned. This felt amazing. It was different then with a woman but it felt great nonetheless. Her hands slipped under his shirt and roamed his back. The feeling of his hands on her bottom and his tongue deep in her mouth was driving her mad. She pulled away enough to divest him of his shirt and gasped. He was beautiful and she told him so.

"Computer, lights," he mumbled in between kisses with her. The overhead glow slowly faded to a more subdued tone which set the mood almost perfectly with their mutual arousal. He walked her over to the bed and gave her a light yet forceful push to send her falling back on the mattress. "Clothes off," he ordered the superior officer with a wicked grin.

Splenora grinned. "Men! They expect you to do everything." Giggling she tossed off her robe.
