Timeline: MD -01 morning

Mimi woke up with a slight start, she looked around not realising quite where she was, she was still wearing her favourite green dress but had a blanket laid over her and she had a major headache. Then her brain clicked into gear and she remembered what had happened last night. "Keelah, my head."

"Good morning, sunshine!" exclaimed Tuula, who had already finished her morning coffee, as she rolled up to check on her patient. "How are you this fine morning?" she asked in a high-pitched, almost chipper tone.

"I ache" Mimi replied. "All the way down to the tip of my tail."

"Hmmmmm." Tuula pulled out her tricorder and began scanning Mimi, the tricorder making loud beeps and chirps as she did so. "It sounds like you had an exciting night last night then."

Mimi turned onto her side, her tail popping up as she looked down at the wheelchair bound human doctor with the really hard name. "It was an interesting night yes."

"Well, I know the cure for that!" Tuula pushed herself over to the replicator. "One Deka Tea, plenty of honey." She turned towards Mimi. "We'll follow that up with 15 laps in a holographic pool."

Mimi looked at Tuula "A swimming pool?" She remembered the one and only time her foster mother had tried to take her to a swimming pool, she'd dug her claws in so hard to the floor so she didnt have to do in, the prospect of being fully immersed in water was something she didnt like, plus there was another issue. "I can't swim."

"Okay... how about a sauna?"

"A sauna? what kind of sauna?" Mimi asked, she'd experienced and liked a cardassian hot rock sauna but didn't know about the others.

"The only kind -- a traditional Finnish sauna!" exclaimed Tuula as she handed Mimi the tea. "Here, drink this."

Taking a big sip Mimi nearly threw the tea straight back up, despite her very low sense of taste for sweet the honey made the tea taste horrible but she forced it down. "That is horrible." She told Tuula.

"Keep drinking," said Tuula as she rolled around sickbay, getting things in order. "I used to drink this every Sunday morning during my pre-med degree. I..." She paused for a second, thinking of those old days. "I used to frequent a lot of clubs in those days."

Mimi forced down another sip of the tea. "I've never been to a nightclub before, or a finnish sauna."

"Oh." Tuula paused for a moment. "Well, perhaps the next time we hit a starbase, we'll have to go out for a night on the town. As for the sauna, it's program Voutilainen Alpha Four. I recommend it to all my patients. Though, some of them are a little queasy about sauna-ing in the nude..."

"You have to be... naked?" Mimi asked, she was certainly surprised about that new revelation.

"Traditionally, yes..." explained Tuula in a nonchalant tone. "I do it all the time. It's a lot more relaxing in the nude, wouldn't you agree?"

Mimi squirmed a little. "I've not been to a sauna where you have to be naked before, I'm not very comfortable being naked."

"Oh. Well, you should try it sometime; it's much more relaxing without any inhibitions."

"Inhibitions?" Mimi asked taking her time with each part of the word she hadn't heard before.

"You know, inhibitions," explained Tuula. "Those silly feelings that tell you not to do something you might want to do because of what other people might think."

"Ah, I've heard words like that but not that one." Mimi said then just about managed to down the rest of the deka tea.

"Great," replied Tuula. "Thursday at 19:00 in holodeck two it is, then. You won't need anything but a robe and a towel."

"That should be ok for me." Mimi said with a smile.

Tuula smiled back at Mimi. "Sounds great. Has the tea started working? Unfortunately, there isn't really an easy cure for a hangover, but some tea and exercise should help."

Mimi made a strange face as her stomach growled "And some breakfast I think."

"Good choice!" exclaimed Tuula. "I recommend something hearty, perhaps a little greasy. Try the mustamakkara; I programmed it in the replicator. Just like mother used to make. Or would, if she were a street vendor back home."

"What's mustamakkara?" Mimi asked.

"Blood sausage!" Tuula began pushing herself towards the replicator. "It's delicious... breakfast of champions, especially with lingonberry jam. In fact, I skipped breakfast today; I might replicate some!"

"That sounds horrible." Mimi said as she watched Tulla roll away. "Is is real blood or just looks like blood?"

"That is a very good question," replied Tuula as she rolled herself towards the replicator. "Computer, two servings of mustamakkara, with lingonberry jam."

Placing the two trays of freshly-replicated food on her lap, she pushed herself back to Mimi. "I mean, it is replicated," she continued, "but it has the exact same chemical composition as real congealed blood. But, what is blood? Is it defined as a liquid of a certain chemical composition, or must it flow through your veins to be truly considered blood?" Tuula placed one of the trays on the biobed next to Mimi and opened the other, grabbing a piece of the sausage and dipping it in the in the small vat of jam as she spoke. "That is a very interesting philosophical question... I wonder what my ethics professor would say..."

Mimi looked at the contents of her tray and cocked her head to the side; it looked horrible. Takng a small piece she sniffed it with her sensitive nose. "It looks and smells horrible."

"Oh, well in that case, more for me!" exclaimed Tuula as she snatched the tray away, before taking on a more serious tone. "I've done some scans, and the offending substances have been completely absorbed by your body, so you're free to return to duty whenever. Just don't get up too fast."

"Ok." Mimi slipped off the bio bed holding onto it till she got her balance. "Thank you for keeping an eye on me doctor and for the...." She thought for the right word. "Invitation."

"Oh, you're welcome. I recommend a sauna to all my patients."

With that Mimi headed for the door and straight towards the mess hall as her stomach rumbled once more.
