Deck 1 - Bridge

Lirha strolled onto Galileo's bridge from the turbolift with a warm mug of hot chocolate clasped in one hand and a PADD in the other. She'd taken care of all pre-departure administrative work earlier in the day with a final set of conversations to both Starfleet Command and Doctor Iroh, and now found herself quite anxious to button up her starship and leave the planet.

As she rounded the corner of the command console at the center of the bridge, a sad feeling of emptiness washed over her when she saw John's XO chair vacant. He had departed on board a shuttlecraft back to Earth several days ago, and this was the first time since Galileo's commission that he had been absent from his post. Change wasn't always something to look forward to and sometimes it stung, but it was the way of life in Starfleet. In time, a new XO would find his or her way on board Lirha's vessel, and a new relationship would form.

Taking a seat in the captain's chair, Lirha set her mug in the cupholder and thumbed the ship's internal comms button to initiate a ship-wide broadcast.

"All hands, this is the captain. Set condition blue throughout the vessel and man your stations. Prepare for planetary departure in fifteen minutes." The ship's computer acknowledged the verbal order; The interior lighting of the rooms and corridors darkened and were accented by silently pulsing cyan hues...a gentle reminder to all personnel to proceed as ordered.

Gyce immediately went to checking all the docking hatches to see if all were indeed aboard. This would be a bumpy way back up into space, she knew.

Sitting at the first mission ops station Mimi's ears perked up when Lirha announced the ship was going to be leaving the planet shortly. She'd never gone through a planetary landing and take off before so it was another new experience, one of many she'd had in her first few weeks onboard.

Ryan had just finished a shower when he saw the lighting change to cyan colored hue. "Guess it is that time." He said to himself as he quickly toweled off and changed. This would be his first time on the bridge of the Galileo with it in transit, causing him to be more than a little excited. In record time he was able to change into his uniform and arrived on the bridge. Stepping off the turbo lift and seeing the rest of the bridge staff getting ready, even further elevated Ryan's excitement. He made his way over to Terminal Two, bring up the pre-departure check lists and what was required of OPS. He had memorized the manual, but he wanted to have it brought up just in case.

Natalya stood at her usual bridge position, in back and just to the left of the master systems display. She fought the urge to look at her new girlfriend Marika, who stood only a few steps away to the right of the MSD. This was their first time sharing a bridge shift. Thankfully she was able to maintain her professionalism and focus on the task at hand.

Noah had been on bridge when the announcement was made. Or, more appropriately, he'd been about the bridge. His knee was acting up again, making extended periods sitting at the Ops station painful to endure. Fortunately, his team was on point as first ENS Mimi, and then seconds later ENS Alexander reported to duty. Deciding this would be a good a chance as any for the pair to get experience under their belts, he stayed back to observe, letting them take point. He would be at hand should anything untoward happen.

Checking her console readouts, Natalya saw that everyone in her department was ready to go, and that there was nothing to warrant a delay of their departure. "Condition Blue confirmed. Engineering is a go for planetary egress, Captain."

Marika smiled as she looked around. It was rare for her to have bridge duty. Even more so outside Gamma shift. This was great!

She was a bit late to bridge after taking care of business there and she hoped the Admiral was not overly put off but the departure was a slow one and people were still heading to stations.

As she stepped off the lift, she was reminded just how relatively small this area was but her eyes drifted toward the empty chair where Holiday would be. It seemed strange but then things had changed on this trip. Andreus had departed along with Olsam and obviously changes were in the air.

She moved slowly toward the spot knowing how much the Admiral had depended on Holiday. She stopped and went to attention and saluted. "Permission to take the Holiday chair Admiral." She decided to name it in honour of the long serving officer.

Lirha heard a familiar voice from over her shoulder and turned her head to take notice of the blue-collared medical chief. She smiled at the woman -- a friend by all respects -- and nodded while motioning towards the empty seat. "Granted," she said, feeling quite happy to have company from a senior-most officer.

Allyndra relaxed and took the chair. The Galileo bridge was similar to the old Firebird and she smiled slightly. Though she loved medicine and science there was a spot that thrilled a little to be in this spot as well.

The Orion leaned over and whispered to the CMO, "How does it feel to get out of sickbay for a change?" she teased.

"Nice. Oh do not get me wrong, I enjoy the profession Admiral but perhaps a bit of pride or whatever that gives me a bit of thrill to be here as well. It has been a long time since the Firebird."

"I understand," Lirha replied, then waved her hand to dismiss any notions of trepidation that might be present. "I will run through all of the procedures with the crew to give you a refreshment of the protocols." Wait, that wasn't the right word... "I mean, refresher," she corrected.

Miraj was all but bouncing in her chair, so keen to be taking off and flying again. She had missed the sense of an awake ship around her, and wouldn't sleep soundly until they were doing a minimum of warp four. "All systems are ready, ma'am. We can leave the moment you give the word."

Luke walked onto the bridge in his late but fashionable manour "I haven't missed anything right?" He asked wiping shaving foam from under his chin and pulling his shirt right at the hem. Making his way towards the old security station he frowned and eyed at all the occupied seats and station!

"Ah yes, welcome Mister Wyatt," Lirha said when she craned her head to look at the new arrival. "Please, come," she motioned him over towards her area of the bridge then stood from her seat before gesturing for him to take a seat in the captain's chair. "The chair and the view is your for now...but the orders are mine," she winked. The Orion was quite happy to stand and observe her bridge crew during the launch, and perhaps for the strategic operations officer, this would be a fun taste of his possible future career. "Just make sure you do not drink my hot chocolate or press any buttons."

"I shall keep a close eye on that hot chocolate Admiral." Allyndra squinted her eyes at Wyatt and then imitated some Terran pirate, "Aye, that be the case Mister Wyatt, touch th' Admirals cup there and we'll keel haul ya and space it not so forgivin' without a suit."

"Wow, thankyou!" He said taking the seat chuckling he settled in taking the view in, "I don't think you're going to be able to get me out of this seat anytime soon " Luke joked trying very hard to not press any buttons.

Deck 3 - Sickbay

Allyndra read the message over and nodded. This was not the first time she had been told to take the XO position temporarily but she would do as she was requested. She called Tuula in.

"Yes?" asked Tuula, rollin into Allyndra's office at her call. "Do you need anything?"

"I have been requested to the bridge, so Tuula I leave you in charge of sickbay as my newly minted Assistant Chief."

"I..." Tuula looked around for a moment in surprise. But with Olsam gone and Allyndra busy, that left her as the most senior doctor on board. Well, except for Shirley, but she didn't count. "No problem, I can hold down the fort," she said, putting on an air of confidence.

"I'm at a loss of what to do, lieutenant." Qureshi leaned in and said in sotto voice, "No one is wounded." It was more said as a round about way of asking if he could go sleep during the launch. Though no doubt there was endless work for an intern.

"Hmmmm..." Tuula glanced around sickbay; Qureshi was right. With all the casualties from the mission taken care of, and not many appointments, it was a rather quiet day. "Well, why don't you fetch me a coffee then, and help me with some reports?"

Deck 3 - Security Office

From the bridge, Gyce hailed the security office for an update. =^= Once all are aboard and all areas secure, please notify me, Lieutenant Eklund. Benice out. =^=

Eelim's hands flew over the console checking and double checking that that which needed to be locked was locked and that which needed to be accessible was. He was a bit nervous about this lift off. He didn't know why but he was. He finished his task there and then helped with making sure all personnel were aboard. He gave his report to Eklund who would send it to Gyce.

Greg came out of the main cargo bay and headed down the corridor on his way back to the security office. "Cargo bay doors secure. On my way to check airlocks, over."

Eelim had been sent down to he armory to check and make sure all was locked. He did so and made sure that all other security equipment was locked down and secure. He signaled his progress to Lark on the bridge and to Eklund.

When all was done and Galan felt the thrusters fire up under his feet he moved himself to a window and stared out as the ship sailed towards the sky and into space. He sighed. "Beautiful..." The whispered word slipped from his lips. He was once again filled with a rightness of being here, on this ship but in the back of his mind something....something didn't feel right. He figured all the stress as of late was getting to him. He shrugged it off and headed to the coms. He sat at his station and then a thought popped into his head. Gyce had been on her feet for a long time.

He sent a message up to her console Boss, you okay? I know it's been a long day and your leg is probably acting up. Just wanted to make sure that you were okay.....Eelim.

The text message Gyce sent back was simple: I'm fine. Just make sure no one is in unauthorized areas during the blue alert.

Eelim smiled. She was so focused. He sent a note back,Yes Ma'am. I know you're very focused now but if you need to sit down. Only thinking of your health, Eelim.

Gyce could only shake her head in annoyance before she refocused her attention to the other areas of the ship.

Eelim grinned. He clicked off the message system and started looking at the read outs. He got that feeling again. He sighed and shook his head. So far readings were normal and all areas were secure.
