Lunch with an Old Friend

Timeline: MD94 - 1400Hrs

Warrant Officer Second Class Anthony Duval was presently looking over the menu as he was unsure of what he wanted for lunch, he heard a female voice address him as he slowly lowered the menu to be faced with his former boss and onetime friend. Lt Commander Torilla Yamaguchi whom he had served with for four years on Starbase 45. "Join me... and maybe I can decide."

Torilla smiled as she entered the lineup for the replicators, behind Duval, clearly still keeping her trim, figure for a woman of her years. "You've not changed a bit Tony."

"No. I got older." Duval responded with a smile. "What on Valhalla are you doing here?"

Torilla smiled. "I need a reason to visit with an old friend?" she inquired in a coy manner.

"Wouldn't your husband protest?" Duval inquired.

"Nah. I'm here on business... of having lunch.." Yamaguchi responded with a smile. "Besides... I was not expecting you." her eyes twinkled with amusement. "and its not like you're bedding me."

"So.. hows things on that floating mushroom?" Duval inquired.

"I have no idea... I am being reassigned to the USS Guardian as her Chief Engineer. The Guardian is apparently the nest leap in Starship technology, she has it all, stuff we never had before on a Federation ship.. She has the most powerful engine plant yet installed and her faster then light system is something totally new... Starfleet stuff all the bells and whistles on this girl... and my job is to shake her down..."

"Is Jake looking after the twins?" Duval inquired as he regarded his dining companion.

"Of course, He's got them for this tour and I get them the next time around then he takes them on the Unto the Breach."

"I heard about the new Pathfinders... Aren't they going to be refitting her to become a full battlecruiser or something?" Duval smiled. "I heard they were in the process of making a battleship variant."

"Yep... but you didn't hear that from me." Torilla responded with a smile. "Ah... I'll have this..chicken pot pie."

"Sounds good... I'll have that too... except with a large side of fries.."

Duval programed his selection into the replicator while Torilla tapped at the display for the replicator on his left, their meals appeared as if conjured by the wave of a magician's hand and a haze of light.

Duval smiled. "Ever wonder if we've become a little too decadent?" he inquired as he followed his former boss and old friend over to a table, he couldn't resist looking down as he let her get out on front of him, he took a moment to check out her ass. "Yep. Torilla. Anyone ever tell ya that you have such a nice ass."

Torilla chuckled in amusement, afterall why would she get pissed off with the compliment that it was intended, however she shook her head. "You are such a dog at times... Always staring at my ass... One would assume you had intentions on me other then lunch..."

"What if I did.?"

"tsk tsk." Torilla responded as she sat down at the table, Duval sat across from her as she regarded him. "You know how it works for Halanan's Tony... No." she responded.

Duval chuckled softly as she continued. "So... Whats new with you?"

"Ahh... been assigned to the USS Galileo." Duval responded. "We're due to leave on our first mission any day now."

"Galileo." Yamaguchi responded. "That name... is cursed.. At least in shuttles anyway... " as she ate a small bite of her chicken pot pie.

Duval shrugged his massive shoulders. "I don't know if she's cursed or not... but from what I've seen of USS Galileo, she's got spirit.. and an interesting but eclectic crew." before he ate a french fry

"Is that good... or bad?" Torilla inquired.

"It is.. what you make of it." Duval responded. "I'm still settling in and I'm still getting to know my guys.. So... we will soon see how things develop between them... and myself." he shrugged. "Besides... It simply is what it is.. No need to rush in and go looking for trouble when it finds me easily enough."

Torilla nodded her head. "How very zen of you." she paused. "Let me know if things don't work out for you because.... and I'm gonna be blunt, I've missed your skillset and your expertise, simply say the word..." as she smiled at him.

"I appreciate your offer... How long is it good for.?"

"Its open ended. Consider it though." Yamaguchi added before she went back to her meal.

Duval nodded as he likewise went to his meal.
