With a coffee in hand Jaana entered Astrometric for her first shift since the whole Mirror Universe stuff had happened. She took a few steps forwards and looked lovingly at the screen. This had to be the most wonderful place on the ship. When she looked around she noticed she wasn't there alone. "I'm sorry, I hadn't seen you."

"No worries," Calvin replied, sipping his own warm drink. "Calvin Henderson, new astrometrics officer," he put down his drink and offered a hand. "Only been here a few days myself."

Accepting the hand, Jaana said. "Jaana Voutilainen, Stellar Cartographer. Just returned back to the Galileo after some personal leave." She went over to one of the workstations. "I guess we'll be working together a lot. Well, at least working here on the same shift." she said with a grin.

"Well, it is very nice to meet you. Glad to know I won't be working here myself," Calvin grinned feeling very relaxed about the situation and having such a nice and pleasant person to work with.

"The feeling is mutual. Working on anything interesting?" she asked as she finished her coffee and threw it in the bin.

"Getting used to the systems still I guess. The power of them is amazing!" Calvin began to enthuse. "I'm working on creating the most clear resolution scans I can, pushing the system...although I admit for now it is still pushing me." He gave out a small sarcastic huff.

"They're awesome, right" Jaana said with an almost equal amount of enthusiasm. "Do you need some help? I'm been battling with them for a while now, maybe I can help you."

"Any choice words and phrases it likes? My curse words haven't been helping much," Calvin gave a small laugh. "I've just been scanning the area for phenomenons and and unrecognized or uncategorized anomalies."

She laughed. "Sorry, can't help you with that. Have you tried being nice to it? Found anything interesting?" Jaana loved a mystery, specially in space.

"Nothing particularly out of the ordinary. A few class two comets, some ultraviolet radiation spikes, a few more particles of space dust per cubic meter than usual," Calvin sounded utterly bored but tried to convey he was thrilled. His sarcasm was on form that day.

"That doesn't sound very exciting indeed." Jaana said.

"It isn't," Calvin gave a little giggle, "but it lets me work everything out and how to filter out this kind of information in the future. Got much you are working on?"

"Not anymore," she said. "I just submitted my latest research and the othervthings I was working on were all mission related. So, I'm sort of projectless for now."

"Hopefully something more exciting than this...on both parts," Calvin gave a warm and open smile.

"Yes, I agree" she returned his smile.
