Timeline: MD 03 - 0930 Hours

[ON]

Gyce felt good. Either it was the antidepressant Allyndra used to help with the pain in her leg, or the fact she could use the leg without it hurting. Either way, she walked, gingerly, back to Lirha's quarters.

Gyce knew this was a trial run. For how long she went without debilitating pain? That was unknown. For now, she did not want to overdo it, thus she was careful to walk unassisted.

Once she reached Lirha's door, however, Gyce was reminded of the issue she left unresolved. It took her good news to the back-burner as Gyce hit the chime to Lirha's door.

The entrance quietly swished open and no reply came from Lirha. Instead, she had taken the chance to code Gyce's DNA to the door's sensors which allowed her to enter whenever she so desired.

It was a good thing because Lirha was fast asleep in her bed. She had taken a long sonic shower while Gyce was gone and eaten some breakfast, after which she had returned to her large bed to sleep the rest of the day away.

Her quarters were dark and only illuminated by the ambient starlight beaming through the windows. Even Snuffles was quiet during the early morning hours, and lay curled up on Saalm's bed next to the Orion while she dozed in typical Orion fashion.

"That's new," Gyce blinked as the door opened and she walked casually in. Once she went into the bedroom, she smiled. Lirha looked heavenly when she slept.

So as not to disturb her, Gyce decided to dress down to her undergarments and crawl back into with her new girlfriend. Careful, so not to wake Lirha.

The rear admiral subconsciously stirred in her sleep when she sensed Gyce's presence. A deep breath ensued followed by a soft and content sigh, after which she rolled over with her eyes still closed and curled herself into the Bajoran. "..Gyce.." she instinctively mumbled through her dream, which was currently an incoherent mess of random thoughts attempting to piece themselves together to create an interesting story.

"Rest My Love," Gyce soothed quietly as she attempted to wrap her arms around Lirha.

It was an easy-enough command, but one which the Orion had trouble complying with. Despite her sleepy thoughts, she couldn't help but be happy that Gyce had returned to her following the brief drama a couple hours earlier, and now to feel her arms wrapped around her, meant that the comfort was worthy of conversation.

A soft yawn escaped Lirha's lips and she slowly opened her drowsy eyes. "...How was your appointment?" she asked in a soft whisper.

"Interesting enough," Gyce smiled contently to her girlfriend. "Allyndra has me on an antidepressant that seems be to doing something sciencey with my neurotransmitters. Pain is a very low level and still lowering."

"Oh..? No pain?" As long as she'd known Gyce, the poor woman had always had some degree of discomfort in her leg. To hear that the very first treatment from Warraquim was producing results so quickly seemed like a great sign.

"A little. But not enough to use my cane." Gyce smiled for a moment, then sighed. It was best she tell Lirha now. "...I did suggest to Allyndra that she might give you a once-over - If only to put my mind at rest. She does not know about us though."

Lirha remained quiet and slightly shuffled her position in the bed. "What did you tell her?" she hesitantly asked.

"I told her I came in to deliver a report to you, and noticed you were in a lot of pain. Not dire, but a pain that should be looked at and she said she would come to look in on you," Gyce answered without blinking. Honesty was the only way to make any relationship work, and she wanted Lirha to know everything. "I tried to make it appear I was simply doing my job. This way your secret and our relationship was not exposed in those sickbay walls."

"You..told her to come here? To visit me?" asked Saalm who was now propped up on her elbow while looking at Gyce to try to determine her true intentions.

"Where then?" Gyce asked logically. "You already stated you didn't want the crew to know. So walking to Sickbay wasn't an option. And beaming into sickbay also isn't option. Nor is asking Allyndra to clear the room for your examination, as that would raise questions."

Gyce took Lirha's right hand and kissed the back of it apologetically. "This was the least damaging option and I don't think Allyndra is the type to run her mouth over an issue she knows that I, as chief of security, would make damn sure Starfleet Medical was aware of. They would pull her licence in a pinch if she was caught breaching your patient's rights of privacy."

Lirha looked down towards the sheets and sighed, not all too happy about the recent turn of events. "You did not trust me to take myself to sickbay for an exam as I volunteered earlier?"

"I trust you with my life," Gyce spoke wholeheartedly as she looked into Lirha's eyes, then gently placed a hand on Lirha's belly. "You carry precious cargo there I know you'll take care of. But for me, my mind is not going to rest easy until I know for sure our bonding time did not hurt them."

Saalm shook her head, now feeling frustrated. "And the tricorder analysis I already offered you was not enough?"

"Tricorders aren't medical opinions," Gyce tried to explain, then deflated in posture with guilt. "I just.... I'm sorry. But I need an expert, not a machine, to tell me your babies are fine. I honestly did the best I could to respect your privacy."

No reply came this time, and instead Lirha curled herself up into a ball on the bed and closed her eyes. She didn't really have anything positive to reply with, and like her mother had taught her in such cases, it was usually best to say nothing at all.

Gyce palmed for her clothes as she said remorsefully, "I'll give you space, if you like... I know I did you a disservice, but I'll be here for you when you want me."

She did not want to sound childish, but Gyce also felt as much the victim as Lirha was that moment. Why wait until after their extreme roughhousing to tell her about the twins? Still, Gyce loved Lirha, so if Lirha wanted Gyce to leave her be a few days, she would rather than have a nasty fight.

The Orion felt and heard the rustling in the bed, and instinctively knew what was happening. She didn't want to argue or try to coerce Gyce into anything, but also didn't want her to depart so quickly.

"You can stay...if you do not talk while we enjoy each other," she offered. "There will be time for that later."

Gyce gave an agreeing nod as she settled back into the bed and offered Lirha a shoulder to cry on. This disagreement nagged at Gyce in a new way though. As she lay there caressing Lirha's shoulder, her thoughts dwelled on her overreaction to something she felt would set things right.

Am I being too careful? Do I have any right to act that way to beings not of my blood? Gyce pondered in her silent, brooding stare up at the ceiling.

"...You can kiss me," said Saalm ever-so-quietly while she rolled over to rest her head next to the Bajoran's. It would probably make both of them feel better, she reckoned.

Gyce turned her attention back to Lirha. As annoyed she was with herself and her girlfriend, Lirha's request caused Gyce to laugh. Leave it to Lirha to circle the wagon back around to intimacy.

"I'll cook us lunch after you've rested," Gyce promised before she gave a warm pop-kiss to Lirha's lips. She did not want to rev the Orion's engine just yet. Not when Allyndra might pop in on them unexpectedly. The doctor never really did say when she would stop by, after all.

A green arm reach up and wrapped itself around the back of Gyce's neck in order to pull her back down for more comfort and a longer kiss. "I will rest soon," she murmured against her plush lips.

"You're..." Gyce breathed between kisses, "Encourageable... My Love."

With her strong arms, Gyce wrapped them around Lirha lovingly, for she did not want to let go.

It had been a good and thought-out plan, to sleep the day away. But unfortunately, the practicality of it wasn't working out as expected. Lirha now found herself embraced by her lover with her head tucked into the woman's chest, and she couldn't help but begin to kiss the top of a large mound that was now in front of her face.

"Mmm." Gyce laughed more, for she knew Lirha was distracting her. "How you have so much energy, baffles me."

Lirha's hands reached up to Gyce's shoulders where they pulled the straps of her tank top down far enough to allow her breasts to escape the fabric. The Orion sleepily grinned as she looked over the woman's naked torso. She then leaned in to wrap her lips around a dark and exposed nipple.

"Prophets..." Gyce breathed in while her body tensed from the desperately-desired attention. Her head rolled back on the pillow, along with her eyes. And her toes curled as she tried to get a handle on what was happening.

Slow circles from Lirha's wet tongue trailed gently around the small bumps of Gyce's areolas. She then clasped the hard, protruding nub in between her teeth and light grazed it with her front incisors before starting to suck on it with a series of audible slops.

Sweat began to form on Gyce's face as she fought hard not to tense. This time, however, she noticed very little discomfort in her leg as Lirha worked her like a keyboard.

"I... love you," Gyce panted between breaths as she tried to rub Lirha's shoulders with her hands.

"...Oh?" Lirha looked up from her administrations and rested her chin on the woman's chest. Love was a powerful word, even more so for non-Orions who mentioned it. It made her feel warm inside, and she searched Gyce's eyes for more information.

Gyce's intense brown eyes locked with Lirha's. Sincere, but also filled with euphoria, given what her Orion girlfriend was doing to her.

"I do," Gyce confirmed wholeheartedly.

"Mmm. Even with my," Lirha paused to think of the Human slang term for her unborn babies, "suitcases?" No, that wasn't right. "I mean...luggage?" Still didn't sound quite like what she was looking for.

"I'd love you if you were carrying a little Borglet inside you," Gyce assured Lirha. The Bajoran rubbed Lirha's belly happily to reinforce that statement.

Lirha smiled at first, then turned her head to the side when she laid it on Gyce's bosom. She had been the victim of Borg assimilation in the past, albeit a botched one, but those memories often haunted her in recurring dreams every evening. The possibility of spawning a Borg child was more real to Lirha than jest, and she tightened her eyes in an attempt to get rid of the thought.

Gyce immediately engulfed Lirha in a comforting hug. As if to protect her at all costs. "I gotcha Dear. We're gonna be all right," Gyce spoke soothingly, for she did not know what caused the reaction.

"Can you hand me my PADD?" asked the Orion softly. The device was just outside of her reach on the nightstand and she didn't particularly want to move from her current position.

"Yeah," Gyce nodded, gently reached across Lirha's body and pulled the PADD off the Orion's nightstand. "There ya go, My Love."

Accepting the PADD, Lirha rolled over on to her back and settled herself on top of Gyce's body with the back of her head nestled comfortably in between her breasts. She began to tap away at her PADD and logged into a 'MMORPG' called Space Trek Online where she had created her own character and was able to peruse the galaxy in search of quests with other players.

"..Mm.." she mumbled to herself as she tapped away on the device and sent her fictional ship to a new world within the game.

"So what would you do, for real, if you found an uninhabited world worth living on?" Gyce asked with true curiosity while she looked down at Lirha's PADD.

Both of Lirha's fingers were now tapping rapidly on her screen while she attempted to battle a random alien ship that had spawned into the systems. "...I do not know..." she mumbled, distractedly. "What would you do?"

"I'd look for a spot with fruit trees and plant a picnic spot under the foliage," Gyce spoke happily. "Celebrate all the good things in life, like we do with the Gratitude Festival."

Lirha continued to play on her PADD and soon after, squealed in excitement. "I have found a relic! Now I need to take it back to the station while avoiding these pirates..." She went on to try to maneuver her craft through the asteroid field and back towards the space dock.

Gyce bit her tongue. There she was, trying to be romantic, and Lirha was was acting like an insensitive jerk. Instead of fighting, Gyce rolled on her side with her back against Lirha so she could nap. As much stress as her girlfriend had put on her, she needed the rest.

Saalm noticed the shift in weight as she slid off of the Bajoran, but continued on her quest which seemed to be the most important matter at hand. Ever so briefly, she reached behind her to rub Gyce's leg before returning to her game for the next hour. The relic needed to be returned if she was to acquire the next quest.
