[ON]

Inside the Chief Medical Officer's office, which was quickly becoming an improvised interrogation chamber, Tuula and Jaana were busy "interrogating" their latest captive. One Dr. Naois Mercy, one of the ship's shrinks.

Tuula and Jaana were rapidly getting tired of this, not in the least because of their mutual hatred for each other. "Now, Doctor," said Jaana, leaning in on the desk he was seated behind, "I want to know about some of your patients and coworkers. Wyatt. Saalm. Jaana Voutilainen."

"I cannot answer your question," Naois answered, appearing calm but feeling quite the opposite. Interrogation wasn't something he was trained for and though he was Vulcan, he knew he'd probably break in the long run. Still any minute he held out, was a minute others could hopefully use to get to safety. "That is confidential information."

"That's too bad," replied Jaana. Then, without warning, she grabbed him by the hair and slammed his face on the desk, hard. "I want to know about these patients of yours. They haven't been accounted for."

Green blood poured from his nose and his vision went grey for just a few seconds, but Naois managed to give her a stony look. "I do not know where they are," he answered thickly, "I do not have senior staff among my patients..."

"You're lying," replied Jaana, slapping him across the face, hard. "First you said it was confidential, now you say you don't know. Which is it?"

"Their psychological records are confidential, and I do not know where they are now. I have not left sickbay since you boarded this vessel." His cheek stung where she had slapped him, and his eyes were still watering from when he'd been slammed into the desk. His face was throbbing but he had refused to give any indication of how much pain he was in.

"Aha, so these crew members were alive when we boarded," replied Jaana. "Lieutenant, having to hurt you brings me no pleasure." She spun Naois' chair around, facing him towards the terminal. "Enter your command codes, and I won't have to hurt you again."

"No." Naois realized his error when he was confronted with their knowledge and what he'd just said. "As I said I have not left sickbay, I do not know if they still live." Other than that he'd treated Wyatt when they actually had taken sickbay but apparently they'd not realized this. Hopefully, they didn't realize that while he was Vulcan, he was capable of lying. After all, the common myth was that Vulcans couldn't lie.

Jaana gripped his ear and pulled hard. "Enter the command codes!" she exclaimed, mere millimetres from his ear.

Unable to stifle a yelp of pain, Naois remained persistent. "I will not," he replied, while considering returning a favour while she stood so close. Wasn't it a prisoner's duty to escape? His judgment was clouded by his pain, and so he moved quickly and head butted her. Unfortunately, it left him feeling dazed and unable to get up.

Jaana quickly stood up from the headbutt and kicked Naois in the ribs. Hard. "You stupid bastard!" she shouted, kicking him again and again. "You'll pay for that!" She only stopped when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

"What!" exclaimed Jaana, spinning around to see her sister, glaring at her, her eyes filled with rage.

Tuula shook her head. "You're such a brute, Jaana."

"He had it coming," replied Jaana, kicking him once more. "Besides, we need to get the information out of him somehow."

"You keep kicking him and he won't be able to give anyone any information," countered Tuula, as she pulled a hypospray out of her satchel. "Sometimes, a little finesse can be more productive than brute force," she added, leaning over, albeit with extreme difficulty thanks to her exoskeleton, and injecting Naois with the hypospray.

"Throw him on the chair," replied Tuula, "it will take about a minute to kick in."

Naois sat doubled over when he was thrown back in the chair, his side burning from where he was kicked, arms folded around his chest. He felt the injection from the hypospray and a little burning at the injection site, but he had no idea what he'd been injected with. "I will not give you what you need," he grunted through clenched teeth, "I will not talk. Do what you must, but I will not talk."

Jaana just shook her head at her sister. Playing around with hyposprays when the situation calls for brute force. Reaching for her phaser rifle, she pointed it directly at Naois' head. "The access codes. I'm giving you to the count of three. One..."

Hellish pain started to course through his body as the drugs he'd been injected with started to take effect. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he tried to control it. He clenched his jaws together so he wouldn't scream.

"Two..."

The Vulcan closed his eyes, waiting for the shot to be fired, the shot that would release him from this pain. "Eva..." he whispered, calling up an image of his wife, though trying to keep her blocked out from his agony.

Frustrated, Jaana turned the rifle around and brought the buttstock against Naois head. Over and over, she beat him with the rifle, shouting at him to talk. When he placed a hand on the table, Jaana brought it down hard on the back of his hand, crushing it between her rifle and the hard surface of the table.

"Stop it, Jaana!" protested Tuula, seeing that Naois was on the verge of passing out from the pain. If her sister kept this up, the prisoner wouldn't be able to say anything.

Tossing her rifle aside, Jaana pulled on Naois' hair, bringing his head up. "Lieutenant, this hurts me just as much as it hurts you. The codes. Now."

Dizzy from the pain, Naois screamed as his hair was pulled, blood still streaming from his nose, pooling on the table and on his clothes. He was in agony and he couldn't take anymore. Between pants for breath and screams of agony, he gave the woman what she wanted. For the poor counsellor this was a revelation as he experienced something he had only experienced once before: shame. Shame, for revealing that which he'd been sworn never to reveal to a third party. Sworn to secrecy, between himself, and his patient. And now, he had broken his oath of silence. The most sacred oath for a doctor to keep.

Through bloodied eyes, he watched his right hand, barely recognizing it as it had been smashed to pulp. "Please," he begged in a pained whisper. "No more....please..."

"You've been most helpful, doctor," replied Jaana as she nodded towards Tuula, signaling her to give him the antidote. Looking outside the Chief Medical Officer's office, she saw two Terran guards. "You two," she shouted, "bring our friend to his quarters. We're done with him."

The broken Vulcan hybrid whimpered, cradling his hand to his chest, wincing with every move he made. He cried out as the guards hauled him to his feet and forced him to walk along. He could barely walk and after two steps, he crashed to the deck, screaming in agony.

But every time that Naois fell, the guards would roughly grab him by the arm and drag him to his feet, pushing and shoving, eventually making their way to the hallway outside Naois' quarters.

Upon opening the door, they shoved Naois into his quarters, with no regard for where he would land, and then sealed the door, leaving him alone, in pain, on his living room floor.
