ON:

Victarion frowned as he walked into his quarters, glancing around for a moment. He had stayed at his desk for as long as he could. Truth was, he didn't want to come back here in case Lamar was still here. That had been awkward. Really awkward. His species were open minded...and Victarion had always been considered strange, even a prude, for some of his attitudes. He just...had never expected to see that. To see it somewhere where he felt...safe. It was just a shock. And the conversation afterwards...he shuddered at the mere memory.

"Victarion," Ash stood up quickly as he entered, having been waiting for him. She moved quickly, giving him a quick hug. "I'm sorry...I really thought you were at work for a good while yet, I didn't mean for you to walk in on me and Lamar...."

He hugged her back, shaking his head. "It's okay. I just...didn't expect it," he said and pulled back. "Should come up with some sort of signal...so we can avoid that."

"Definitely," she nodded firmly, holding his eyes with genuine warmth. "I guess I haven't had need to recently, been like a nun," she laughed, shaking her head with a sigh. "Seriously, I wouldn't have if I knew you were on your way back, I'm not that much of a bitch," she winked.

"I thought he was seeing the Chief Medical Officer," Victarion said and shook his head, smiling weakly as he moved to his bed...and stopped when he saw his uniform that Lamar had discarded. "He ripped it. Of course he did, because it isn't clear enough judging by the damned size of it that it would be too small..."

Ash pressed her lips together to stop herself from laughing. "What can I say, Victarion...not every man is the youthful slim beauty like you..." she fluttered her eyelashes in her display to try and win him over.

He looked at her with a weak smile, shaking his head. "Or was in a position to think, by the looks of it..." he picked it up and moved to recycle it. "Will you be seeing him again?"

Ash shook her head with a soft chuckle, sitting down on her bed with a sigh, letting her hair loose. "Nah...he's my boss, that's just a bad idea. Besides, if he's got a girlfriend, that seals that. It was just..." she shrugged, shaking her head, her hand stroking over the cover. "It's been a tense week, and he stripped off with that body, nothing wrong with a fling...."

Victarion nodded weakly, sitting down as he watched her face. "Yes. I understand, you needed the...relief," he said, looking around. "It has been tense. I will be glad for it to be finished and us...tribble free."

"Damned straight," Ash laughed warmly, relaxing at his starting to be okay with her again. "So you're not completely traumatised?"

"I'm..." he looked at her and grimaced. "Suddenly grateful that Kohl hasn't sought me out lately..." he blushed, looking down. He had started seeing Kohl, thinking it was a romantic attachment. Now, he wasn't so sure. His species were difficult with it all, he knew he was the odd one out.

"Whatcha mean, Tarion?" she asked, quirking her head to the side as she reached out to touch his chin to make him look back to her.

Victarion met her eyes, shaking his head weakly. "Not much. I...spent some time with Kohl. I thought it was going one way, but I...don't know."

Ash smiled at that, a gleam in her eye showing she knew what he meant. "But you haven't....yet?"

"No," he said as he met her eyes. "Really rare for my species. We're...quite liberated, sexually."

"Doesn't mean you have to be," Ash shrugged, shaking her head with a warm smile. "Your DNA doesn't have to dictate what you choose to do."

He smiled at that, nodding gently before sighing. "Okay, so...bra on doorhandle? We need a signal now, I don't...need to see that again. Although he was having a great time."

Ash covered her face with a soft laugh, shaking her head. "Sorry...sorry!" she slapped his thigh playfully. "Bra's not going to work, 'cos you don't have one for if you bring someone back. Just 'cos you're not easy, doesn't mean it'll never happen..."

He met her eyes and chuckled, a small smile curling his lips. "I know where you keep yours though."

Ash laughed warmly at the words, shaking her head as she poked him in the arm. "Hm.....how about....if we bring someone back, we send a text message to the other," she motioned to her PADD. "Then we know to stay out until we get the word it's all clear?"

Victarion nodded gently, smiling as he watched her. "That...that should work. I can't see it not working."

"Feel better?" Ash asked, leaning to him to search his eyes with a warm smile, her expression almost tempting him to smile with her.

"Yes...maybe..." Victarion said before grinning, reaching to touch her arm. "It was a shock."

"You're telling me! There's more flattering positions to be found in," she teased, but half to assure him he wasn't the only embarrassed party. "So what say we work through our trauma together?" she adopted a mock serious voice as if a counsellor.

"How about repression?" Victarion suggested, grinning as he slapped her thigh. "You little minx."

"Definitely," Ash slipped her arm warmly through with a pleased smile. "Deal."
