Tykhin had spent most of the evening before putting the stolen data from the Borg cube into a secured partition of the ship's computer. He did a rough categorization of the data as he did. It was hard to believe how much they had and just what it was. For the first time in a very long time, Tykhin was excited. Not only did they have fantastic new intelligence that would save lives and advance Federation technology, but this would change his standing in the Branch immediately. And it all came from field work. Had he been wrong all this time? Tykhin shook his head, his disillusionment at odds with this new excitement.

He pushed it aside as he walked into the Intelligence Offices for their unit meeting to debrief.

Siren moved in with a brisk pace, stretching out warmly. She was back in uniform, her long, dark red hair pinned back. She was feeling more human again, but she supposed that was all a matter of perspective. Slipping down into her seat as she gave a nod to Tykhin, she crossed her legs and waited for Amynta. She too had been looking over her info, and had written notes to try and keep her thoughts fresh from what she had seen and heard on the cube.

Tykhin's brow creased when he saw Siren. He returned her nod, but seeing her took a good portion of his enthusiasm away.

Amynta looked at them both, her eyes going to Tykhin for a moment. Wonder what that is about... She pushed it aside and sat back, her legs crossed, her hair tidy...she was clearly back in her comfort zone once more. "I understand we have all had time to look over what was brought back. I have to admit, I am almost impressed with what they have...done to the Borg. Almost."

"I suppose the question is; just how useful is it?" Siren shrugged, thinking it over as she stretched her legs out and crossed her ankles. "I mean, for us, any data regarding regular Borg is always good. But this unique cube? Some of it will need to be disregarded because it's specific to the changes made to that one cube and won't be relevant to any other conflict involving regular Borg. A large amount of sifting is going to be required. It's a big job."

Tykhin tapped a few final buttons on his PADD and then held it out to Amynta. "Ma'am, the engineers with my team got me into the Borg systems. I have several kiloquads of data; technical specifications for the transwarp propulsion systems, information on transwarp navigation, technical specifications on cube weapons and shields, assimilation nanotechnology and some limited information on the species of Setisar IV. I only had time to roughly categorize the data, but it's there. Hopefully enough to put the reverse engineers to work."

"All other teams also brought home some significant areas of information," Siren tilted her head to Amynta. "Charlie on weapons and shielding, Delta the transwarp info, Alpha have some hive mind info and Beta got a whole host of Borg data nodes to play with," Siren nodded to Amynta at referencing the last team, Amynta's own. "The key will be working out what's relevant, and what's a distraction."

"It's true, but that's hardly our concern, crewman. Primary analysis on information of this sensitivity won't be done by us. It will go to Intel and we'll never see it again."

Siren lifted her gaze to the ceiling, but managed to refrain from rolling them, remaining silent and still as she crossed her legs. She disagreed, but it was Amynta's call...and knowing Amynta well, she was more than capable of saying what she thought one way or another. No one could call Amynta shy.

"Hey!" Amynta looked at him, her eyes dark as she took a breath. "I am not entirely sure how you understand this, but this is my department and I am the one who tells people what is and is not their concern. So unless the Captain suddenly made you the Chief of this department, I suggest you think of what you say before you speak to my staff, understand me?" she said, her voice cold. She would not have anyone except her speak down to a member of her department, regardless of rank.

Tykhin looked vaguely amused. "So she goes on about what our concerns are, and that's fine, but I point out what we have to do based on protocols that you don't have the power to change, department head or not, and I'm out of line? I'm not sure what kind of amateur hour you're running here, Lieutenant, but between your blatant unprofessionalism, and her refusal to obey direct orders, there's clearly no place for me in it," Tykhin said and pushed himself up from the desk. "Best of luck to you both."

Amynta looked at him, a small smile of amusement coming to her. "Indeed...no place for you. Dismissed," she said and waved her hand dismissively, before looking over at Siren. She had no time for him, and his opinions were useless to her. So for once, she was not even going to bother getting angry. She would talk to the Captain about him at a later time, but right now they had work to do. "Because of what has been compromised by the alien involvement, we should divide the recovered data between what is influenced by them and what is purely Borg. We can use the database to cross reference. That way, we will not risk that people will use incorrect data should they deal with the Borg."

Tykhin left the office remembering all the reasons he had become disillusioned with Intelligence over the years, starting with the people he had to work with. "Four gods, thank you for making it clear."

Siren nodded as the man left, leaning forward to rest her chin in her hand, her elbow balanced on the table. "I agree," she replied to Amynta's comment on sifting and separating the data off between pure Borg and the elements effected by alien control before sending it off to HQ. They weren't just collectors, they were also trained analysers, and she didn't recognise any 'protocols' that Vess had been talking about. Intelligence agents were expected to analyse their own intel, not just collect it. It was the job she'd been trained in. They were also in a unique position. They were there, first hand, and so understood more than anyone else what kind of relationship there was between the people of Le'kt and the Borg; they were least likely to confuse any intel that shouldn't apply to 'regular' Borg because of the alien factor rather than leave that decision in the hands of people who didn't have that same inside knowledge. "And perhaps also a third band of intel? Information that could be useful in regards as to how such control was gained?"

Amynta nodded, frowning as she took a PADD. "It would be interesting to see how such control was gained. Any information of the sort will be...good for the Fleet," she said and met her eyes. "We will be working through the day. The more we can do, the better. Do you have a problem with it?" Of course, tough luck if she did. Amynta wanted this sorted out as soon as possible.

Siren only chuckled softly, shaking her head as she arched an eyebrow. "I've learnt not to bother having a problem with what you want; it doesn't make much of difference even if I do," she pointed out with a smile of amusement, calmer now that Amynta had dealt with Vess' obvious disapproval of her. She took the PADD from her. "I can get started now. I've got a feeling it's going to be a long night."

"We'll get the coffee in. Get to your quarters first, put something comfortable on and come back here. If we are going to spend all day and night here, I suggest we dress for it," she said and frowned. It was a small thing, sure, but in her experience it helped just as much as coffee and food. It meant they had a chance to sit and not be distracted. "Better get going, Siren. You have twenty minutes."

"Already moving!" Siren pushed herself away at a run, waving her hand back to her as she literally made a run for some more comfortable clothing in which to pull an all nighter, before she changed her mind.
