Mission: Episode 04 - Exodus
Location: USS Galileo - Deck 7 - Main Engineering
Timeline: MD 03 0530 hrs

ON:

After checking on Christoph in Cargo Bay 2, Lt. Rhodes made his way down one deck to Main Engineering. Here as well, the destruction was apparent. Maintenance crews were frantically moving about to repair systems. Rhodes stepped cautiously around Engineering. Borg were present here, but remained inactive, at least for the moment.

Theron glanced down at his PADD reviewing the data on P.O. Galepsie. He had not met her as yet, but if she had been willing to fight for the Galileo, he would accept her as one of his team. He continued to look for a woman with dark curly hair. After a moment he spotted her on the far side of the room.

Rhodes made his way cautiously across the room trying to stay out of the repair team's way and not be obvious to the Borg standing in the room. He walked up to her, yet turned away to keep an eye on the room, "You Galepsie?"

Taryn was leaning against the bulkhead wall. The med techs had come and reset her shoulder, which had hurt like a bitch. She looked up at the man who had approached her. Her brown hair, which was typically pulled back was hanging loose around her face. "Yep, that would be me." She grimaced

He replied, "Theron Rhodes," extending a hand, "Glad to have you on our team."

"Glad to meet you, Sir." Taryn said simply. She extended a hand, it was the wrong hand, but she extended her hand just the same to shake his. "Sorry, my arm is a little out of service at the moment."

Theron accepted the left hand and glanced down at her, tilting his head a bit to see her right shoulder. He turned away to watch the room before saying, "Are you going to be able to hold out here, and watch our visitors for me?" He looked with concern at Galepsie for her response.

Taryn looked down at the drones that were still in engineering. Her shoulder was feeling better, but it would require surgery to fix the nerves in her hand. She let out a sigh pushing her hair back from her face. She hated having them in her ship, even though it wasn't really her ship, and she couldn't wait until they were clear of this place. She looked back up at the Lieutenant that seemed to have genuine concern for her, "Yes, Sir. I am a little beat up at the moment, but they don't have much interest in me." She paused for a moment and gave him her best attempt at a smile despite the situation. "Pardon me, Sir. But have you heard the status of Warrant Officer Banks? He was in my department on the Venture. I haven't gotten many updates sitting down here."

Rhodes smiled at her question, looked away to check the room, then turned back. "Mr. Banks is on Deck 2 at the moment. I will be checking in with him shortly. I understand he is fine shape."

Taryn couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief. She pushed herself off the floor moving to a standing position. "Thanks...that is good to hear." She smiled up at Rhodes.

The Chief tried to encourage her, "I would suggest that you send him a message via PADD, that is until you can sit down together over a beer and swap stories."

"Thanks, but I have some drones to babysit." She leaned forward slightly looking over the railing. "So, do we have any idea how we are going to get these bastards off the ship?" She asked simply.

"That is a true uncertainty for the moment." Rhodes replied slightly frustrated, but then smiled encouragingly, "What is not an uncertainty is that I will get medical to take care of that shoulder for you. They are currently still dealing with the critically wounded. I am sure they will call you in when they have a bed available to heal up that shoulder.

"I am not too worried about it." Taryn started with a grin towards her new interim boss. "The sling is helping with the pain, and I can still do my job."

"I am sure you will." Rhodes said confidently. As they stood side by side with their backs to the wall, Theron felt led to distract her for a moment. "My condolences to you, concerning your friends and crew of the Venture."

"Thank you." She replied absently. It still hadn't quite sunk in that some of her friends and crew were dead. "To be honest, it hasn't sunk in."

"I understand." he said almost mono-tone. He had lost crewman under him too, but that was not her problem. The Chief turned to Taryn, "Will you be able to hold out here for a while?"

"Yes, Sir," Taryn started with a nod of her head. "I am square here sir. I still have my knife and even one handed I can hold my own." She looked up at Rhodes.

He felt that she was telling the truth, and truly could hold her own, or at least would try. "I'm going to go check in on a few other security teams watching the Borg," Rhodes stated. "Keep me posted by PADD of any changes that take place."

"Will do." She replied. "Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help." She couldn't wait to send these cybernetic jackasses out an air lock, but she would bide her time until then.

Rhodes glanced at Galepsie, "I will see you soon." he said encouragingly and then walked away.

Taryn watched him go. She let out a breath she hadn't known she was holding. She was relieved that Banks was ok and that made her feel more at ease then she liked to admit. Looking down at the Borg she couldn't help but remember the terrifying encounter that rendered her arm useless. She could get her revenge, she just had to bide her time.
