Admiral's Log, Stardate 67857.1

Colony deployment continues to go well. During our first fourteen days, we have been able to establish mid-range levels of operations for all of the colonial structures. Initial damage to two of the colony modules upon landing has sadly left a handful of colonists dead as well as many more injured. Our medical facilities were able to accommodate most of the casualties, and they have since returned to duty.

In the meantime, the crew has been busy assisting their engineers and operations personnel with the toughest of assignments -- establishing infrastructure. Industrial replicators are online and functioning at peak capacity, and so far several primary housing and storage facilities have been completed thanks to the help of our support craft pilots and our single Workbee.

Doctor Iroh's synthetic prototype has proven to be less-than-effective. In fact, it still remains inoperable as of this log recording. The doctor has explained that there is a malfunction in its primary cognitive mainframe...from what I have gathered, this is a critical malfunction and not something easily fixed. I admit that I had my doubts about the viability of this new machine and I now fear it is not quite ready for field testing. I remain hopeful that the doctor can still fix the problems before the end of our scheduled assignment...but time is quickly running out. My full assessment of the prototype experiment will be transmitted once Galileo departs from Celes III.

With less than a week left in our mission, final preparations for our departure have begun. Our botanists are finishing up the final stages of their hydroponic work and colonial food growth projection is well-within acceptable parameters. All necessary maintenance has been conducted and now our focus is to transfer our remaining cargo supplies to the colonists.

Once we depart from the system, we will transfer all Celes III operations to USS Oceana, the Nebula-class assigned to import the planet's second batch of colonists. I think our crew will find it a welcome relief to finally get off this temperamental world and back into space.

Computer, end log.
