After his holodeck experience with Ensign Mimi, Eelim felt a bit shaken. He headed home, showered and changed into his uniform. He sat down at the desk by his bed.

“Computer begin personal log entry dated today.”

The computer chirped telling him that it was ready.

“Personal log entry. I’m an idiot. No. Really. I’m an idiot. A big one. I’ve put myself in a position of utter and total confusion.”

He sighed and walked over to the replicator ordered a mint tea and sat back down. “I don’t even know where to start. I’m in love…with three different women…I think. Okay maybe love is not the word for it but I find myself considering three amazing women and thinking which one I should begin courting...wait that's not the word...Dating? Asking out? I don't even know. See I'm an idiot. Truth of it is I’m not worthy of any of them. They are all better then me, they all deserve better and I doubt that any of them would even consider a Cardassian like me yet…I guess I can still dream.”

Eelim sipped his tea. He leaned back in the chair with his eyes closed. “Candidate one. Tuula.” He smiled, “She’s special, she is 28, beautiful, loves heat as much as I do. She has a sarcastic streak in her that’s absolutely amazingly funny and she is warm, playful and loving. I can tell she is passionate and yearns to be loved and should be loved! She does have some trouble relating to others and socializing so again similar to myself. She smart, funny, has a killer memory. I bet she can recall all sorts of things. She can be a bit prickly at first, like her um… offer to dissect me.” Eelim laughed.

He sipped his tea again before he spoke, “I think that she is perfect in every way. I heard her singing the other day and wow. She has the voice of an angel. Well at least that’s my humble opinion. So there, that’s Tuula.”

He finished his tea got the cup back in the replicator and then sat down on his bed leaning against the wall in a seated position. “Candidate two. Allyndra. WOW. I mean wow. She’s tiny. She hardly weighs 100 lbs I’d say. I know because I held her during the um…holodeck bite thing.” He rubbed his neck sheepishly before continuing.

“So Allyndra has these sapphire eyes that just draw you in. She has raven hair that feels like silk in your hands and then there is that bite thing. I could sooo go through that seven to eight times a day. Other things she is polite and sweet but sometimes withdrawn. I think that, like me, she is lonely. She is clever, and an excellent cook, she has these wings that are just lovely they give her an ethereal quality and she has such joy when she dances. It’s like she is the beauty of life. She makes me feel….I don’t know she brings out the protector in me.” Eelim ran his fingers through his hair. “I could see myself falling in love with her but then again it’s the same with Tuula. Allyndra is smart and gifted beyond anything”

Eelim paused for a moment. “So candidate three, and this is perhaps, a bit obvious but, Benice. Yes, I am aware that she is my boss. It would be…complicated, further by the fact that she’s her and I’m the son of a man she hates. I have no right to like her, I have no right to think about her, I have no right to even stand in her presence. She’s a bit older then me at 39 and she’s got this red hair and these chocolate eyes. She’s driven, detail oriented and has this drive to save the galaxy. She carries the weight of the world on her shoulders. She’s beautiful, she’s smart, a bit volatile but given what she’s been through it’s understandable. She, like me, is very devoted to the Bajoran religion and way of life I just keep it hidden because there are times I feel like I have no right to that either. She loves the law, is loyal, has a kind heart when you break through the shell she’s built around her heart. She is very good at analyzing and thinking things through. She has this way when she’s thinking she’s just so adorable. She thinks outside the box. She is intense and dedicated and courageous. I love her intensity. I don’t deserve to lick her boots.”

His shoulders sagged. “I don’t know why I’m even writing a log about this. None of those women would be able to love a useless ugly Cardassian like me. They deserve the best that's not me,” he said sadly.

=/\=All hands, this is the captain. Set condition blue throughout the vessse and man your stations. Prepare for planetary departure in fifteen minutes.=/\= It was the Admiral’s voice came over the system.

Galan sighed. “End personal log. Delete.” He heard the chirp.

Eelim looked over to the little Bajoran prayer shrine he’d set up in the corner of his room. He knelt down lit a candle and bowed his head. “I pray the Gods of Bajor protect the crew and this ship as it takes off. Please protect the colonists in their new home. And…if you have time help me bare the loneliness.” He put out the candle so as it wouldn’t start a fire. He noted the little coin he’d gotten from a friend the one found by the monastery in Kendra province. He smiled and picked it up. A way to hold his Gods close.

Eelim headed out to his station. I feel so alone He wondered why it was getting worse. An ice cold chill ran down the length of his spine and Eelim shivered. He hoped that wasn’t a bad omen.
