Admiral's Log, Stardate 67547.2

Yesterday was a most busy day for our crews. After entertaining several Klingon captains and their associates aboard our starships and presenting them with brief tours, I was surprised to receive a communique from Starfleet requiring the reassignment of several of Galileo's personnel, including some senior officers. Apparently there is a matter of the utmost urgency which requires their presence back at Starbase 84, but the timeliness of their sudden departures was less than ideal.

With several vacant command positions, Captain Holliday and I have been working to replace and rotate several of our other officers into new roles on short notice. Our task group will be adequately staffed by the time the military exercises begin in a few hours, and I hope everyone will be able to adjust to their new positions more quickly than expected.

On a side note, our diplomatic dinner last evening went much better than expected. I was wary of having a large group of Starfleet personnel aboard a Klingon starship and the possible cultural differences we might encounter, but I noticed the crews both seemed to enjoy themselves. There was a strange appreciation and camaraderie between the two forces which I have not seen in recent memory, which gives me great hope that relations between the UFP and the Klingon Empire are progressing very well. Aside from several challenge duels, there were no major injuries, and the Klingon cuisine seemed to bode well for most.

NIMBUS is scheduled to begin promptly at 1500, and now we must prepare ourselves for what will be an important and challenging skirmish.

Computer, end log.
