USS Galileo's Xenoniologists Personal Log
Stardate: 68493.5

I am perplexed in regards to the events that transpired during the exploration of the mine. Something most unusual is happening, no, has happened down there. I do believe that my hypothesis stating the unexplained events transpired due to some unstable matrix material. When researching the topic of terraforming, one particular reference came forth. Genesis.

Unfortunately, as not being a member of Starfleet, I therefore hold no real security clearance to access the complete files. I find it rather intriguing that after such a long timeframe that the majority of the project yet still remains classified. However, for me to dwell on what I can not change is illogical, and yet strangely....frustrating.

audible sigh

Yes, frustrating. While in the mines, I experienced several emotions that I'm not quite familiar with. Fear, anger, and even...as oddly as it may sound, desire. I believe that whatever unnatural forces are at work in the mines may have caused me to enter Pon Far much faster than is expected, by five years, two months and twenty-one days. If I do conduct Pon Far soon, I will become emotionally unstable.

End Log.
