Interference

"Things are not moving according to plan," the Cardassian mine manager frowned as he sat back, sipping a strong drink that didn't seem strong enough.

"The interference of Starfleet has been about as useful as...well, Starfleet," Taurus gave a grunt of scorn and shook his head.

"I have had to bring my activities to a halt for the time being. It had been hard enough keeping my work here secret from the other facility staff. Now with Starfleet poking around, there's more eyes to worry about."

He shook his head, jaw tight, frustration clear on the grey toned features. "They are into everything. Personnel files, interviews, examination. I have managed to keep them away from my work and shall continue to do so, but...." his frowned deepened and he rubbed the ridge of his nose. "It raises the risk of being found out significantly."

He sighed with a distinct edge of irritation. "I wanted to be finished and off of this forsaken rock as soon as possible. Now? I will be stuck here until Starfleet leave. They have no right or place pushing their flat faces into our business. Wherever they are not wanted, you can be sure that Starfleet will insert themselves with all the arrogant assertion of the Federation's right to police the galaxy. Whether they are wanted or not."

Taurus took a sharp breath and closed his eyes to calm himself, shaking his head. "Still, there is nothing to be done about it now. Perhaps next time, some warning would be nice though," he inclined his head to the side before sending the encrypted report.
