Personal log - 017 - Shore Leave Ahead

ON:

The current mission of the USS Galileo will soon be coming to an end. We are approaching Earth, where the crew will be on shore leave while some needed repair takes place on our vessel.

The last 30 days have been a long and drawn out period for me. Part of that time I have spent with Cdr. Blake, helping understand some of my personal issues. There are some things that I never realized about myself until I sat and thought and talked them out. I do feel more confident in myself, as it should be.

I had the sad responsibility of signing off on the transfer of Lt. Rice. A request came down the line. She has another duty station that has requested her abilities and leadership. Of course I gave a very positive entry into her file for her. I hope the best for Aria.

On the other hand, I now need to try to locate another security officer or two. I will submit those recommendations to the XO for further consideration.

Chief Wyatt came to me earlier this week. He wanted to confirm to me that he wanted to be a permanent part of the Galileo's security department. After a good long conversation, I think we have determined the best area of responsibility for him. I think, after shore leave, we will have a fine security department for the next mission.
