[Recording Begins]

I'm exhausted! This really is starting to feel like my surgical internship. I went from trauma work straight into surgical work removing Borg implants. It's been non-stop 18 hour days... But the work has been incredible.

So much for Richard thinking I'm wasting my time keeping up my certifications! I'd have been so pissed if I'd missed this chance to help out. I don't even know what kind of surgery I haven't done in the last week; plastics, neuro, osteo, one gastro, some cardio, trauma... I'll have to look at my surgical logs later.

And... I think I'm going to do it. I just, I can't imagine going back to the lab after this. I know it'll be back to the routine before long, but this has been such a rush. I need to get back to it; these are a surgeon's hands and I'm just not going to be happy if I'm not doing surgery. And there's nowhere for me to go here as a scientist, anyway. I'll talk with Pendleton tomorrow and see what he thinks. Starfleet, here I come!

[Recording Ends]
