Regenerate

The words came clearly through the hubbub of the Collective's sum voice, it was time to return to the alcove. Disengaging from it's task, the drone elected to speak on behalf of the Borg headed back to it's alcove, stepping up and into place in a single move, before dissolving into the Collective unconsciousness.

Flashes of images span through it's mind, a red planet orbiting a yellow sun, a planet with an oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere, partially aquatic, a large bridge constructed from a duranium/tritanium composite in the distance.

The drone's processors quickly discarded the images for what they were, simply redundant memory engrams from the drone's previous life, irrelevant in it's service of the Collective and nothing more than bio-electrical trash.

More images came, scenes of battle, a Federation starship, Defiant class, an escape pod, then darkness. A second starship, Galaxy class, a bipedal species with pointed ears.

Now the pictures came thick and fast, one by one blurring together threatening to overwhelm the creature's organotechnological link.

An Orion woman, a Nova-class vessel, a Klingon bird-of-prey, a male member of Species 5618 and a female from a race of listeners. Next a nebula, a Borg cube, and then nothing.

Just the serenity of the Collective.

And the dream continued......
