Diplomatic Officer Log, supplemental entry:

At 0400 hours, I received a communiqu from the Vulcan Embassy on Nehru colony. Evidently... I do know my way around Vulcan administrative law. Evidently... I can successfully research and complete an application form. All one-hundred-and-twenty-two digital pages of said application form. It's my talent, I guess? It's my thing. It's the thing I contribute to Starfleet when I wake up every day. I complete out application forms. That's what I have to offer.

Two weeks ago, I submitted the application form to the Vulcan Embassy on Nehru colony. At 0400 hours this morning, I received the response. USS Bismark has been approved to access the Vulcan Embassy's archives as soon as we arrive. We even have another day of travel time to spare. An entire day when I won't be biting my nails, breathlessly waiting to know if I completed sections 2 through 7 of the application form effectively. I hardly know what I will do with all that time. Serve Bridge duty as Diplomatic Officer, I supposed. I will sit at my station on the Bridge and... I don't know... wait for that other communiqu.

I have notified the Science department they will have full access to the embassy archives. I do hope they will be more thrilled than--

Wait. Huh?

Uhm...

I didn't get it. I didn't get in. My application to the Medical Doctor program at Starfleet Medical Academy has been declined. The letter said I had many fine qualities and characteristics, but that they did not select me to attend the Academy. The letter hoped I would find fulfillment studying medicine at another fine school.

What other fine school? Are they telling me to leave Starfleet? Did I not meet the required qualifications?

I guess... completing application forms isn't my secret talent after all. Nor is medical science... evidently.
