Stardate 67381.0

I have been dreading this for some time now. In order to complete my Doctorate in Quantum Propulsion, I have to finish my Thesis. That's great, but I can not finish that here, on the Galileo. I need to travel back to Earth and the Starfleet Academy School of Engineering Sciences. There, I will have the resources available to me that I desperately need. Then I will need to travel to Vulcan and the visit the Vulcan Science Academy. Sen, a Vulcan physicist that has been working on Quantum Propulsion for the past six years sits on the Vulcan Science Academy Board of Directors. I can hopefully finish everything I need there, on Vulcan under his guidance.

It will be hard to leave the Galileo, but I have to do this. Besides, with the malfunctions that my arm has been giving me, it's probably best I remove myself from putting not only myself, but others at danger. Willis, that pain in my ass, is coming with me to serve as my research assistant. This will give him the opportunity to spend some quality time with his wife as she has been reassigned to the Starfleet Offices on Vulcan. I leave the ship in a far better state and competent hands from when I first got her. I will miss everyone while I'm gone, but once I complete my studies, maybe the Skipper will let me return. Best of luck to the crew. I have enjoyed every moment.

End log.
