Personal log - 011 - Taking Command vs. Desolation

ON:

Taking charge of the security department have been problematic, but all the issues are being dealt with; from inventory to duty watches to survey assignments.

Lieutenant Rice has stepped in as assistant and has been very supportive of my decisions. I have tried to include her in many of the important ones.

Anne and I have chosen Amon Mormont as the lead tactical officer for Gamma shift. We both find him stable and confident for the position.

Speaking of stable and confident, I have found myself a little lacking recently. On a couple occasions I have found myself very untrusting of others and have pushed the envelope of my control. I have never needed or wanted a mentor, but after the last couple days, I at least may want to find a confidant in which to confide and find guidance.

The memorial service for Lt. Stone is scheduled for later today. I actually had Petty Officer Stark come into my office and inform me that he did not want to attend the memorial. He had some sound reasoning. I gave him a hard time with it, but finally worked out for him to be on duty during the service.
