Personal log of Lt. jg Amynta Markos, USS Galileo.

I am starting to question whether I joined as an Intelligence officer or a library researcher. I have spent the better part of a day now looking through old reports from this sector. Borg activity has been my strongest focus. And whatever other scum crawled its way through here. At least it keeps me occupied.

I've sent off a message to Carus. A short one, he'll know I am on a mission. Hopefully we can meet again next shoreleave. I keep missing him, a quality I am not too fond of. I shouldn't need to miss him.

I have to confess, I am slowly starting to enjoy myself on this ship. Some interesting characters here, the sort of people you never expect to get through any sort of formal qualifications...it gives it more spice. Makes it more real. Because let's face it, I am hardly a postergirl for Intelligence Officers. So it fits.

I feel something in my bones. A bad feeling about all this, although I think it might just be because I have read so much about the borg lately. The borg are our boogeymen. You tell children stories about them to stop them demanding ice cream. Strange. I remember when it used to be the Jem'Hadar that were the subject of ghost stories. How time changes. Or maybe they never did. Who knows.

I am going to take a long shower and do my nails...and hopefully, it'll cleanse my soul of all this research!

Computer, end personal log.
