First Officer's Log,

the Galileo has now arrived at the Rojar system in accordance with our orders from Starfleet command alongside the USS Venture. Whilst this is an exciting opportunity to explore a brand new star system previously unknown to Federation science, I must admit it is a little unnerving to be quite so close to Borg space - I for one am glad that we have a Galaxy class starship to watch our backs.

The ship herself seems to be faring pretty well so far - we have experienced no substantial engineering issues, and certainly all of our new systems have functioned at peak efficiency - our chief engineer and her team have certainly kept Galileo in good order.

Recent activity regarding shipboard behaviour has me a little rattled however - with so many new crew members aboard, and indeed so many recent Academy graduates I have concerns that protocol may be a little lacking in areas. I have made it my personal mission to make sure that all new crewmembers abide by the rules set out in Starfleet as long as they serve aboard this vessel.

We shall see how these new faces perform on their first mission...I shall certainly be keeping an eye on them.

Computer, end log.
