Captain's Log, Stardate 67159.3

We are on the verge of arrival at Rojar 861 and should be entering the solar system within the next hour. Both Galileo and Venture's long range sensor scans have failed to detect any other ships in the vicinity, and the latest intelligence reports from Starfleet suggest little to no activity present in the sector. It is a relief to be able to conduct our survey without the worry of additional interference and I hope that we do not run into any surprises once we enter the system.

After a shaky start to the mission, the crew seems to have finally settled into their roles and morale is strong. There are many on board, including myself, who are looking forward to charting the unknown, and it is good to see enthusiasm from all of the personnel. The Press Corps appear to also have had a positive effect on the crew despite their somewhat intrusive nature, and I am scheduled to give them a tour of the ship and do a quick question and answer session in a few moments. Despite my earlier apprehensions, I do not find the press as big of an obstacle as I had predicted. They do seem genuinely content to report on our discoveries and so far I have not detected any ulterior motives.

Finally, I am pleased to report that Galileo is currently running at one-hundred percent operational proficiency. I was concerned that there would be a number of computer and engineering hiccups as a result of the new systems which were installed back on Vega colony, but so far my XO and chief engineer have reported no malfunctions of any kind. I only hope that Galileo won't have to take the same amount of abuse as last time.

Computer, end log.
