Aren sat quietly in front of the computer. Since the return from Kreanus, he had felt as if he had been in a holding pattern, partly because of his choices. He had taken numerous temporary assignments leading a small expedition to Ryn, leading a cadet cruise, and taking over a couple classes at the academy. And while he had been approached several times about a first officer position, he hadn’t felt quite ready. The last few months had given him time to think and reflect on all that had happened. He realized that he really missed being out in space, being at a desk assignment almost felt like being a prison, as if his sense of purpose had been caged. Being on the bridge on the Hathaway had been a temporary reprieve, and one that opened up that cage. The most recent request had intrigued him; it would be a long term assignment full of volunteers. He took his cup of coffee, before getting work on his response letter.

1. This memorandum is a response to the interview request from Commanding Officer, NCC-80010-A, USS Galileo received on Stardate 68467.12.
2. In response to the aforementioned request, the recipient is acknowledging and accepting the request for interview. As per your availability, recipient will be available for interview at your convenience.
