I've had the most interesting day, definitely not my usual. For some time now I have been performing duties as an alternate or extra shuttle pilot for Starfleet Command. I would guess that I will continue as such until my orders come in for my next permanent duty station. I do hope it happens soon. My duties have not been too difficult. They have not been with the same shuttle, sometimes as the Pilot, sometimes as co-pilot. I can say that everything has been in the Sol system, so far. I would say the majority of them have just been transporting Officers and dignitaries to the Spacedock in orbit and then back to Headquarters here in San Fransisco. Yesterday in fact, I did that run four times. FOUR round trips!!! I'm entirely glad I had no duties today, to relax and see some more of the City.

But I digress. I was really wanting to describe what happened today. You see, I found someone today to share with. I mean to say, I've shared some personal information about how I feel about my leaving the Andorian Imperial Guard. That has always been a difficult subject for me to speak about, even with my superiors.

She was an Orion, an older woman. Her name was Lirha Saalm, and her younger sister Nesh. Oh, with that initial group there was also a Human named Gideon, Gideon Nichols. Nesh was being quite the disagreeable youth and went off with Gideon. So, Lirha and I did the best we could, made our own small group, and walked through the Museum together, which came to be quite advantageous. She made it so easy to open up and talk. Her curiosity seemed honest, and her encouragement allowed me to relax. I have no idea what she does for Starfleet Command, but I would wager she could be a great counselor. We walked and talked for about an hour before we met back up with her Sister and the Human.

I don't know if I will ever get to meet her again, but I will definitely look forward to that day.
