The Winning Solution

I won, there is no other way to put it. Those pompous jerks are so full of themselves they couldn't admit that I found the solution to the No-Win scenario. Is it a win? That depends on how you look at things. Athletes win championships and there have been times where players have suffered career-ending injuries. It's still a win but it's by no means perfect.

Was I responsible for the deaths of six federation citizens? Yes, did I murder them? Not a chance. What I did was make a decision that would have saved thousands if not millions and averted a war. The creators of that test never accounted for that scenario because they never thought A cadet would have the guts to make that kind of call. No, this academy wants cadets who would rather kill themselves and their own crew then six civilians who by the way violated a standing order by crossing into Klingon space.

I, on the other hand stayed in Federation space and fired a torpedo from our side of the border. Suddenly Klingons pass into our territory and attack a Federation vessel, how convenient. It's utter bullshit and it's starting to make me regret even coming to this place. What actually made me think I could be anything more then a loser? Almost everyone in the simulation spat in my face, personally I think them all cowards and I'd probably eject them out of an airlock before letting them serve on my crew.

The tactical officer Abbey was the most surprising of them all. I fully expected to have to approach that console and hit the button myself, but she did it. If the Academy wants to hold some Kangaroo court I will fully stand in front of her and keep the wolves from sinking their teeth into her. She's pretty cool and I think she will make it.

The rest of these wannabes can stuff it and continue on to mediocrity. Maybe they will all end up on the same ship and an asteroid will do us all a favor.....

I really shouldn't be saying stuff like that, it's mean........

None of that matters now. I'm sure I'll be getting some sort of summons soon calling me to an 'academic review board' to evaluate my actions and no doubt I'll walk out of that room guilty. Half these idiots probably spent a career behind a desk, wouldn't even know a good decision if it smacked them in the face.

Well soon it will be back to Moab for me. Until then I think I'm gonna go rot in a corner or something.
