Personal Log, Stardate 66283.2

"I'm now on trial with charges for treason, negligence, and..other things. I can't believe that jvjen of an admiral, McDermott, thought any of this would stand! Does he hate Orions? Was he there at Kreanus? Did he understand what it really meant to watch those around you be pushed to the breaking point?

"...Of course not. What gives him -- any of them -- a right to question me? What about the lives I saved? My children that I lost...every sacrifice we all made to get home? All to find someone to blame for the unblameable and toss away because they didn't follow 'Federation righteousness'?

"This may be my last log as a free woman but not my last as an Orion. I know Earth never fully trusted my people, and they know I have knowledge of their inner-most secrets. And when they want to erase a retired intelligence chief that was just captured, it starts with formalities, the courts. Then imprisonment, then...exile. And then...if they still find you...

"You have much to learn, Starfleet. I swore my oath the same as any other officer and sacrificed everything that was asked of me. It was your directives and laws that would have killed us all if they'd been follow to your letter... But you know this, and won't admit it. Tell me, should I feel embarrassed or ashamed, now?"

Computer, end log
