So many things to say

ON:

Eviess wiped herself down as she got out of the shower. She wrapped her towel around herself and headed into the main living area. It felt good to be on a Starfleet ship again, it felt good to be able to shower again with real water. She walked over to the replicator. “Computer I want….I want a large Romulan Latte with whipped cream, two shots of Tecklian coffee. Oh and a large ice cream sundae.”

She smiled as she tossed the towel aside and changed into her uniform. By the time she got back to the replicator she found her sundae and latte there. She tackled first the cold and then the warm latte.

Finally settling in the stuffed large lounge chair she curled her legs under her and opened a personal log. “Computer personal log. Today’s stardate.”

The chirp told her the log was ready.

“Eviess personal log, It’s been a rough go. I’m so glad to be back on a Starfleet ship. I never knew one could miss the little luxuries, a nice warm shower with water, a coffee, a soft chair.”

She took a sip of her coffee and continued, “It has not been an easy time. The loss of Splendora hit me hard. We were friends but way back when we were lovers too. I loved her very much. She was more not just a friend but a fellow writer, an ex-lover, a kind soul. I wanted to do something to hour her and her spirit. I haven’t thought what that is but I will.”

She silently looked at the painting that hung on the wall of the guest quarters that were assigned to her.

“That planet…I shudder to think of her body there, far from home, far from those who loved her.” She sighed. “Losing her, and the captivity on that planet it’s been…hard to take.”

Eviess sipped her coffee again, “Then there was that implant. Doctor Allyndra was a genius. She worked with medieval instruments to get rid of that horrible implant. The pain is mostly gone. The doctors here on the Chaka have done a bit of a repair job too fixing what Allyndra could not due to instruments but they did tell me that I was lucky she is a skilled surgeon.”

She smiled, “The people I’ve met here on the Galileo and those who joined us on the colony have been wonderful. I’ve even met a Romulan, like me. She … well she didn’t blink at the fact that I’m half Klingon.”

Her mood changed again. “Ahhh the Klingon ship. That was… a trial. But that is a story for another day. I have promised the medical bay here that I would help out today.” She ended her log, finished her coffee and headed out. She didn’t want to think about the Klingon ship.
